I'm a sucker for the love stories full of misunderstandings and mistrusts till the happy ending of course! Matthew and Isabel have such a strong passion but can it lead to real love or is it impossible. I loved this book and read it very fast till the end and, as it usually is with Jess Michael's books, I truly enjoyed it!

I couldn't put this book down, I didn't want it to end. Awesome story from a genius author. Another winner from Jess Michaels. The chemistry and passion between Isabel and Matthew was just electrifying. I loved the fact that the heroine was not a wallflower and went after what she wanted. I can't wait for Hugh story to come out.
I received this ARC from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this novel, but I can't say it was my favorite novel of the series (The 1797 Club). The relationship between the hero's deceased fiance, and our heroine, felt a bit too contrived.

I loved Matthew and Isabel's story!!

The attraction between Matthew and Isabel started from their first meeting. But when Isabel learns that the man she has been meeting is the person her uncle claims is responsible for her cousins death, she is torn on what to do. She can't imagine that the man she is falling for would purposely cause the death of another. Can Isabel learn the truth without getting her heart broken??

This was a great addition to the 1797 Club series!

Sweet stiry about finding love in the most unlikely place and discovering passion. A tragic death brings these two lovers together. An explosive mutual attraction.

So I was not sure if Matthew would rank up there with my favorites but he is lovely, kind, gentle, loyal, and damn sexy. I did want to kick him in the rear a few times with his downtrodden attitude about his dead fiancé but in these times he also reveals his gentleness which I find refreshing for a male character in a story. What can I say about Isabel, she takes the bull by the horns and goes after what she wants – passion. Who can fault a woman for that? Take it and own it. Matthew and Isabel are wonderful characters who lust first and then realize that love sneaks up on you when you least expect it. As always, the others of the 1797 Club are there when Matthew needs them. Yeah, camaraderie at its finest.

Ms. Michaels’ you added one of my top favorites into this story – Marcus Rivers, sigh!

I adore this series, each new book brings a different perspective. There are real differences between each couple, and each Duke is yummy!

I particularly liked Matthew. He was quite adorable! And the glimpses of the other couples was spot on. The weaving in of the Regency ton was done so well, as always by Ms. Michaels

However I didn’t really buy the scenario in which they met and her behaviour. But once the story got going it as an excellent addition to the series. And she definitely grew on me.

I absolutely loved this book! It is by far my favorite book in the series so far!! Matthew feels that he had found and lost the one true love of his life in a tragic accident three years prior to our introduction of The 1797 Club of Dukes. We've seen glimpses of his grief throughout the series, but what we find out in his story is that there is a tremendous amount of guilt he feels about his part in his fiancee's death. This is increased ten fold by his late Fiancee's father blaming him for her death, and hellbent on extracting some form of revenge on Matthew. Encouraged by a fellow Duke to attend a certain Masqueraded Ball, that if you are a Fan of Ms. Micheal's you are no stranger too, that is geared to a certain type of clientele. Here Matthew finds himself drawn to a women for the first time since his Fiancee's death. Isabel was a wonderful character, she's kind and humble and very loving for someone who hasn't had much in her life of recent. She attends to just observe the passion that is in abundance at the ball, as it was severely lacking in her first marriage. Here our masked strangers meet and passion explodes instantly and continues in spades throughout the book. It was a HOT one for sure!! Trouble happens when our masked lovers become unmasked and reality comes crashing in, as we learn Isabel is Matthew's late fiancee's cousin. And she conveniently chooses not to reveal this to Matthew. Matthew fights with his distrust of Isabel's lies, and his guilt over moving on. And Isabel fights break free of the ghost of her cousin that controls the two men she loves most. I loved these two together and appreciated the fight these to endured to find their love! As always i can't wait for the final three books in the series!!
