It pains me to say this, because in general I enjoy this author, but this was not a winner for me. I didn't like Amber. At all. She was TSTL and so immature. Bam was ok, but I never knew what he saw,in her. I ended up skimming a good deal of the book because I didn't care about her or a HEA. I'm not sure I will continue with the series.

If you like the Sons of Anarchy and wish there was more sizzling romance in the show, then this is the series for you. Not so much for me, but it was a quick read.

I thought this book was sexy and fast-paced. Amber and Bam had great chemistry and a fantastic story!

I snatched this book up because I’d seen a conversation about reader on Facebook about how good this series is. A reviewer friend shared their enthusiasm. However, Rough Ride failed to grab onto me as I expected. Amber has sworn off bikers after her dad was murdered because of his club affiliation. After Bam hauls her out of the Russian Mafia’s club, she dismissed her resolve and gets close to Bam. Bam knows he can’t touch the club princess and yet he does. I’m sure the progression of their relationship is meant to show that are so right for each other that they’ll defy club and their own personal rules. I just found it to make them wishy-washy especially the speed at which they came together and Amber’s acceptance of being Bam’s property.

The story had plenty of action and tension to keep the reader on the edge. Ruslan’s obsession with Amber was interesting and added an element that left me questioning from one scene to the next how that would play out. Archer writes very well. I have the other books in this series and will withhold my judgment of Archer until I read them. This book, however, failed to wow me.
It’s irrelevant to the book, but the cover annoyed me. It looks nothing like Bam as he’s described in the book. This guy with no tats and short, dark hair is far more frat boy than bad, biker dude. The other books had good covers that fit but this one is just wrong

I enjoyed reading Rough Ride -- Bam and Amber make a really cute couple but I thought the storyline was too far-fetched. A kingpin in the Russian mob falls for Amber and is ready to protect her even though she will never be his? I couldn't buy it. However, I did like the main storyline. It was interesting to learn how Amber's family is mc gang connected, making her "royalty" so becoming her lover is a big risk for Bam. I also liked the fact that her mother got sober and took care of her even if it was a little late. Rough Ride is a good read, particularly if you're a fan of the MC romance storyline!

Nothing like a triangle to get you all hot and bothered... Growing up a daughter of a MMC member Amber knew what to expect until Ruslan showed up and turned her world upside down... To bad Bam already claimed her. This book has it all and total easied my SOA cravings.

I received this ARC for a fair and honest review from LoveSwept and Netgalley.

OHW!!!!! I have fallen in love with a new MC, and now I must go Nd binge read the rest of this series. I mean how come no one has told me about Gillian Archer before! Sorry you guys just really jazzed.
Ok so now about this book.
Rough Ride starts oh so heartbreaking, with the night of Amber losing her father. She just can't take the MC's company line of its club business, but her mom has understandably not dealt with her husband's death very well and became a raging alcoholic, and all Amber wants to know that the man who killed her amazing father suffered. In walks a crazy as heck Russian mobster, and a gorgeous Viking like biker.
When the bullets settle who will Amber be with!!

I've really enjoyed this entire series and this book is a fantastic addition. I like Ms. Archer's writing style and the way she so nicely blends the gruff workings of the MC world with a sweet heartfelt romance. In this book we see Bam Bam get pulled in by the very off limits MC princess Amber. She is determined to get answers about her father's death and Amber is not accepting the "club business" excuse for not answering her questions. She finds herself in a couple of rough spots and somehow Bam is always there to bail her out. She doesn't want to get pulled into the MC world again but the more time she spends with Bam the harder he is to resist.

There's lots of action and romance in this one making it one great read. I highly recommend it.

Bikers are one of my favorite romance sub-genres, and this one was very well written. I didn't much like the opening scene, but since a great deal of the drama in the story revolved around the ensuing pseudo love triangle, I understand why it started that way. After that, once Bam is introduced, the story gets right down to it and it's a thrilling ride to the HEA.

Amber has had enough of the biker mentality of keeping their women in the dark, so she's determined to find out what happened to the man who killed her father, regardless of the risks involved with asking questions of the Russian Mafia. Bam is at first assigned to get her safely home, but then he starts to put himself at the front of her protection detail even though she makes it clear she has no interest in following in her mother's footsteps.

This story shows us the full three-dimensional life of guys who are most often written off as "just bikers." Amber and Bam find their own way, regardless of the club's involvement. The author depicts the MC lifestyle with compassion as well as gritty realism. Despite being book 4 in a series, it works perfectly as a standalone and doesn't leave any loose ends. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

While I haven't read others in this series, Bam and Amber's story hooked me. Bam and Amber are clearly meant to be together, but someone didn't tell Ruslan, a Russian mobster this. Their love story is a bit crazy about finding and then losing and finding love again.

MC Club books are my second favorite genre to read.

I really liked this book and felt the chemistry between Bam Amber was amazing.

This book does end in a HEA with no cliffhanger.

Book 4 in a series I hadn't heard of from an author I hadn't heard of. Needless to say, the prior books are now on my TBR list. I loved how the story sucks you in from the beginning. I was torn--should Amber go with the hot as sin mafia bad boy or the sexy Viking slash biker bad boy. Amber has a bit of a rough life now that her father is gone, not wanting to have any help from his club, and trying to deal with her mom's downward spiral all in her own. One of the things I really enjoyed about this book was how you got these tiny little snippets of background on other characters and it made you think, huh I'd like to read THAT story if there is ever one. I didn't realize until the end of the book there WERE other books. It might be book 4, but you are never left out of the loop if you don't read in order.

Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC of this book. I used to be really picky about the content of romance books and don’t really pick up motorcycle club type stories. But I’m so glad I opened this one! This is my first book of Gillian Archer’s and I plan on going back to read others!

Even though I haven’t read the first few stories of the series, this can be read as a standalone. Amber’s father was a member of the True Brothers club and was murdered a year ago. Amber hasn’t received the answers she wants in finding out if her father’s killer was brought to justice. It’s been a rough year for her family and now she’s facing challenges with the Russian mafia, and her protector, Bam.
Bam tries his hardest to not fall for Amber and has his own family issues to deal with. But falling for Amber means he’s going to lose everything he has.

This is a very well written story that includes grief, friendships, jealousy and finding love. This story gave me all the feels! The only thing I wish it had more of was the relationship with her brother. I could have used more about his background and what happened with him after his father’s death. It didn’t change the outcome of the story, but it left me with some unanswered questions. Overall, I would definitely recommend!

This was just an okay read for me. I just did not fall into this story and connect with the characters like I did with the previous one.

What an emotional and tense book, I couldn't put it down. This was a new author to me and I will definitely be reading more from her.

This book has it all if you like the MC world. There are brothers, rivals, loyalties, love, sex, anger and family. Bam has only been a brother for a few short years and still feels like a newbie. He doesn't try to ruffle feathers and continues on being a good soldier. This all changes when he is tasked to watch over a fallen members daughter.

Amber is just trying to get answers concerning her fathers death and ends up taking matters into her own hands which causes a huge trickle down effect for the club. She tries so hard to be independent and tries to distance herself from her fathers club but in times of crisis she runs to them. My only negative comment is, I didn't agree with Amber's decision to keep the pictures from Bam.

I am so glad I got a chance to read this book

I reviewed "Rough Ride" by Gillian Archer. I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars.
Amber Bennett wanted nothing to do the motorcycle club, True Brothers, after the death of her father, Stitch Holding together her family as best as she can, no one from the club ever came to help them. With the loss of her brother Jackson to the club as a prospect, it's just her and her grieving, alcohol enhanced mother, Brittany. Doing what she can to get by which includes cocktailing in a uniform that showed more of her than not, she's getting by.
The mystery surrounding her father's death sends her to the Howl, a nightclub run by the Volkskya Bratva, Russian mafia. The VP of the group, Ruslan, takes and interest in her against her desires. About the same time, Bam Bam shows up with True Brother's VP, Axle, for a private meeting. Shit hits the fan when Amber is found there. Being club property, Bam Bam takes her home only to find out how far the Bennett family has fallen. Something no True Brother should ever let happen, but the grieving club had dropped the ball with the death of Stitch.
Finding himself torn between the club and his growing desire for Amber, it will eventually pit Bam's two loves against each other...does he save Amber from the Volkskya or does he stay with the club?
I have to admit, I enjoyed this very much. Amber was far from a wilting flower, determined, opinionated, and able to stand up for herself. Bam's character had more growing up to do as well as finding out what he was going to do when it came to risks - happiness, love, and possibly his own life.
Great read and the first book in a while that did not involve meeting someone at a wedding event. Yeah!
I was given an uncorrected proof by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Rough Ride is about Bam and Amber and the MC club after one of their own is murdered by a rival biker club. The relationship between Bam and Amber is sweet and complicated. There’s plenty of tests, twists and curves along the way.
The only part I wasn’t a fan of was the frequent use of kitten.

Rough Ride is part MC romance, with a dash of crazy Russian mob, and a Romeo/Juliet twist! Having read the previous books, I knew I enjoyed the world Archer created. Bam and Amber's story was delightful!

Amber's dad, Stitch, was in the True Brothers MC until he was shot by a rival gang member and died. Amber's mom crumbled under her grief and her brother abandoned them. Amber had to quit college, take a job as a cocktail waitress at a local casino, and assume the role of adult of the house-paying the bills and cleaning up her mom's drunken mess nightly. Still desperate for answers about her father's death, she heads to a bar owned by the Russian mafia and meets Ruslan. She quickly realizes that she is in WAY over her head but its too late-Ruslan has decided he wants Amber and will do whatever it takes to have her.

I really sympathize with Amber and my heart hurt for her. She is pissed at the club for totally abandoning her and her mom after Stitch died. She calls them out on it too. Bam had no idea that no one had been helping them and that no one knew how bad things had gotten. He steps up but Amber is not buying it. He also steps up to help when Ruslan's gifts get to be a bit much. Bam doesn't feel like he is good enough for Amber and Amber doesn't want the biker bitch life. But, man, once they admit their feelings, these two are #relationshipgoals! Holy moly! What Bam was willing to give up for her? Swoon! Amber has a flashback at the end of her father's death and I loved the way Archer wrote it!

Rough Ride was probably my favorite of the series so far because of Bam and Amber! Their story is sweet and endearing and totally had me crying a few times! I really hope Archer continues the series because I am falling for her True Brothers for sure!
