“If you lived on the moon and you said that you’d go out with me, I’d figure out a way to get there.”

I feel like all I ever do is talk about how much I love Carolyn Brown, but guys, I LOVE Carolyn Brown. Her books are almost always just exactly what I need—this lovely blend of sweet, wholesome, feel good romance. That they’re about my favorite type of swoony romance hero—cowboys—is just the icing on the cake.

Cowboy Honor is another fine example of Ms. Brown’s wonderful talent for making the simple, but by no means easy, life of a rancher look good. I enjoyed every page of my trip back to Longhorn Canyon Ranch in North Texas, from the meet-cute that played so well into Levi’s penchant for taking in strays, to the “back to the future” ending that made my heart sigh with happiness. Not to mention, all the steamy, funny, heartfelt moments in between.

I truly can’t wait for the next book in this series—Justin’s, I’m sure—which will mean another chance to check in with all of these likable *and* lovable characters. Which, I hope, includes the adorable, scene-stealing Zaylie.

‘With her eyes shut and heat flooding her body, her soul found its peace right there in the cold, empty house. So it was true…home wasn’t a place, it really was a feeling. Home was Levi—being with him, sharing life’s experiences with him.’

A women with sass, a gun and a sassy nieces to boot and a hot cowboy comes to the rescue what more could you ask for and what could go wrong. This story was a super fun read. I loved how the way the author wrote the story made the way that things played out was very organic and not rushed. I loved that she took two really strong willed and people and let things just play out the way they lie. I really enjoyed Zaylie she really brought so much to this story and you find yourself laughing a lot. This story does have adult situations but over all I could not see any piece of this story missing everything just seem to work and seemed to fit. I have not read the first book in the series but I am so going to grab it I can't wait to see where the author takes the characters in the next book. I would totally recommend this book it was so fun and one of the sweetest loves stories.

Cowboy Honor was one of those feel good, grab a glass a wine and just enjoy kind of romance. Low on drama, high on sweetness and chemistry, you couldn't help but find yourself sucked into Brown's Longhorn Canyon world.

My only complaint, Levi's inability to see his own self worth. Monetary accomplishments does not make a man a man. I found his continual self doubt distracting, 4.5 stars.

I received this ARC copy of Cowboy Honor from Forever (Grand Central Publishing). This is my honest and voluntary review. This book is set for publication September 25, 2018.

We can always count on Carolyn Brown for a long, lean cowboy and a good ol' Texas blizzard. Digging into one of her books is like snuggling up in my favorite blanket in front of a cozy, crackling fire while that blizzard rages outside. The rest of the world falls away while the warmth and contentment settles in deep. Her books carry the message of faith, healing and hope, and her casual, comfortable style captivates the reader from beginning to end with a story of home and hearth and cowboy code, and love for family, friends and that special someone.

In this second book of the Longhorn Canyon series, we get Levi and Claire's story. When they first meet, Levi finds himself at the wrong end of Claire's pistol. After his four wheeler runs out of gas and a blizzard blows in he decides to hole up in the ranch’s hunting cabin, finding it already occupied with a stranded Claire and her niece Zaylie. But with a brother in the military who taught her how to take care of herself, Claire isn’t in any hurry to trust the handsome cowboy.

Brown’s books are always great fun to read, and this was no exception. I love the sense of family and community with the ranch family and neighbors, and Levi was a wonderful hero. No arrogance or ego with him, just down-to-earth cowboy charm and a heart as big as Texas. He definitely met his match in sassy, independent, capable Claire, and four-year-old Zaylie stole everyone's heart. If you’re not a fan of the cowboy trope, this is the one author who has the talent to win you over. With light-hearted humor, sweet, tender moments, and a heartwarming, uplifting story, Cowboy Honor is a definite winner.

This was such a sweet story. I loved that Claire went out of her way to take her niece when her brother got deployed. It was so romantic how Levi and Claire met and they hit it off. The author had great character chemistry. I loved that I got this book to the sequel and I discovered after I started reading that they were related.

Cowboy Honor is a sweet, cozy western romance that will have you falling in love once again with the Longhorn Canyon gang. Everyone is back in this endearing story, perfect for the holiday season. Pull up a comfy chair, grab a mug of your favorite beverage and settle in for a heartwarming read. Brown has created a delightful world of wholesome, charming characters who balance daily ranch struggles, family, faith, love, and friendship. And with adorable animals and a precious four-year-old girl this story will put a smile on your face for sure.

Claire is headstrong and independent and has a hard time relinquishing control and letting others help her. She is successful with her quilting business, has a hand in raising her four-year-old niece while her brother is deployed and is used to doing things on her own, making her own decisions from a young age. Zaylie is just precious with her grown-up words and love for the animals. She is a loveable, precocious little girl who quickly captures the hearts of everyone on the ranch. Levi is a sweet, charming, shy ranch foreman who does not know his own worth. He is full of self-doubt when it comes to Claire. He is head over heels for her but has a hard time seeing what she could possibly see in him. She is classy, smart, runs a successful business and has a lot more money than he does. What could she possibly want with an old cowboy like himself? Yeah, he has a bit of money but no place to call his own and the ranch is his life. What could he possibly have to offer her?

Join Claire and Levi as they work thru their doubts to find common ground and compromise to have their happy ending. The rest of the gang also makes an appearance in this second book so we get to catch up with the newlyweds, Cade and Retta, and join in some laughs with Justin and the rest of the family. It is the perfect read for the holiday season.

Levi, escaping a blizzard, decides to stake it out in the old hunting cabin on the ranch, but when he opens the door he's greeted by a gun toting woman. Claire and her niece Zaylie were took shelter against the snow storm in a vacant cabin, being a single woman traveling with her young niece and coming from a military family she knew how to protect her own, especially as the locked door opens. Claire has been running her life as well as her family's for a long time, she's independent and sassy, a Levi has a big heart and loves collecting strays, a recipe for sparks and butting heads! This read has it all, fun, humor, feels and plenty of spice. Get ready for Zaylie to take over the book in a way only a four year old going on sixty can! She'll wrap you around her little finger as easily as she did the rest of the characters in book!

A sweet addition to the series. A accident lands Claire and her niece on the Longhorn ranch sharing a cabin in a snowstorm. And so begins nice girl meets kindhearted cowboy Levi to happily ever after. No major drama, but sweet story of family, those you're born into and those you make, letting love in no matter how afraid you are and following your dreams.

I really enjoyed this summer romance book. I found it to be so sweet, moving at the right pace to feel authentic and the writing was good. Took me about 2 days to read and I truly enjoyed it.

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review. Once again, another good read by Carolyn Brown. Christmas books are a favorite of mine, and this is no exception.

Claire Mason is caring for her niece Zaylie, while her brother is on deployment. When she crashes her SUV into a tree in a snowstorm, she and Zaylie take refuge in a cabin. Enter Levi Jackson, foreman of the ranch that owns the cabin. His four wheeler runs out of gas and he takes refuge in the same cabin. There are some struggles with feelings of inferiority (Levi's) and independence (Claire's), but the couple soon overcome them and fall in love. Filled with fun animals, lots of loving family, and even more cute sayings by a 4 year old, this holiday romance is sure to fill your heart.

I would definitely recommend this feel good holiday read.

I enjoyed the trip back to the Long Horn Ranch. Claire's accident ended up leading to major life changes. The story totally lives up to the philosophy that things happen for reasons we don't understand at the time. Levi rescues Claire and her niece and from that point both of their lives change. We learn more about Levi and his past. Claire has her own challenges with her family. The story was a quick read and had a sweetness to it. It was fun going back and getting updates on characters from the previous story. It isn't necessary to read the first story before reading this one. They stand alone. I received an advance copy for an honest review.

3.5 Snow Covered Love Stars
* * * 1/2 Spoiler Free
When Levi Jackson entered the rugged cabin near the Longhorn Canyon Ranch, he didn't expect to have a gun pointed at him. But that is what happened. Claire Mason and niece Zaylie were stranded in a snowstorm after crashing the car on the way to Oklahoma. So it wasn't so crazy for Claire to be scared when this man started to come into the cabin they were hunkered down in...

Once Levi explains who he is and how he was willing to assist them, Claire was able to see how lucky she was....and once they got to the ranch, everything really became a wonder. The family there took them in with open arms and Levi and her started to connect on another level all together.

Now the big questions are can these two see what is right in front of them...and will they allow themselves to take the love that is there for the taking.

Another winner from Carolyn Brown.

Cowboy Honor by Carolyn Brown is the next book in the Longhorn Canyon series. I liked it and would recommend it as a heart-warming story. The main characters are Grant and Claire and they work so well together that their budding romance flows well and is believable. The other characters in the story are also familiar and we get to meet Claire’s niece, Zaylie. There is humor, heartache, determination, trust, farm animals, and finally our happily-ever-after. These two must work through their issues and come together as a couple. I love to read Carolyn Brown’s novels, as her writing style makes you feel like you are right there in the room watching. She is a great storyteller, and I recommend it to one and all.

I had problems reading this one. I found the story was ok but it isn't one I will be reading again and I am not sure if I will be reading the other books in the series.

Charming moments sneak into character conversation by Carolyn Brown – really quite typical so you need to watch out for them while reading the latest Longhorn Canyon novel COWBOY HONOR. Case in point – how to answer an age old question posed by an adorable four year old. How much longer until they reach their destination. Sure you can answer two hours or do it the Claire way – one more movie and four songs. As I said charming and a fitting start to a review of another Carolyn Brown heart winning story.
COWBOY HONOR is about wishes and how difficult it is to honor them. Top of four year old Zaylie’s list is for her daddy to come home. He’s deployed and as a career soldier has been for much of Zaylie’s young life. A widower Grant is fortunate that his sister Claire is willing and able to pick up the slack. Her major source of income comes from her quilts that she sells on Etsy. A very portable job. This doesn’t leave her much time for a social life but the connection between Claire and Zaylie is a treasure of love.
There is a lot on Zaylie’s list for Santa but daddy is number one followed by a long list of sundry items like cowboy boots and kittens. All new items thanks to time spent at the Maguire ranch.
Claire and Zaylie are waylaid by a weather related accident and meet Levi, foreman at Longhorn ranch at one of the out cabins. Levi is smitten with both of them. Zaylie is quick witted, loving and adorable. Claire is beautiful, ambitious and eventually puts down her gun as she begins to trust this strange cowboy.
Levi is a somewhat habitual rescuer. He can’t help it. But he isn’t interested in Claire’s thanks for getting her and Zaylie safely to the ranch. He is just interested in Claire but his pride is definitely in the way. Levi doesn’t recognize what a good catch he is but Claire does.
Claire has never felt like number one with anyone – until Levi. Levi may think he has nothing to offer but he is exactly what the doctor ordered. Hopefully Levi will realize there is a future with Claire if he just gets his darn pride out of the way.
Claire is ready to make some important changes in her life but that niggling doubt keeps casting a shadow over her plans. Claire and Levi are made for each other – simply put they complement each other. Everyone can visualize them as a couple but it is important how they see themselves.
Hopefully this Christmas will be filled with items from people’s wish lists – some easy, others somewhat more difficult.
COWBOY HONOR reintroduces some friends from previous Longhorn Canyon novels. Carolyn Brown deftly incorporates them into the story. But the stars of COWBOY HONOR are Levi, Claire and Zaylie. Nothing better than meeting new friends which is one of Carolyn Brown’s trademarks. Friendship, family, love and trust abound in COWBOY HONOR.

Heartwarming and sweet Christmas western themed romance.
When Claire Mason and niece Zaylie are stranded in a snowstorm after a car accident, they're grateful for the cold shelter the cabin they came across provided. When ranch foreman Levi Jackson comes through the door, she pulls her gun in fear, but when he proves he is who he says he is relaxes...a little.
Upon their rescue, she finds a welcome at the Longhorn Ranch, and both she and her niece fall in love with the ranch and it's inhabitants.
Told with descriptive phrasing so vivid, it's easy to imagine and a variety of emotional scenes, it's a treat to read and hard to put down.
I enjoyed the tale and was left wanting more at the end. I jumped at the opportunity to grab the ARC from NetGalley, because, honestly I have always loved the way Ms. Brown spins a tale.

In true Carolyn Brown style, this is a story with depth that’ll leave you feeling as if you’ve been immersed in the lives of her characters. Levi is a heartbreakingly tender cowboy doubting himself and thinking his self worth is wrapped up in tangible, material items and Claire is an independent woman never having had stability in her life...they bring acceptance and love into each other’s lives. Definitely a story that leaves an impression in your heart.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

I have been picking up and putting down and picking up this book over and over again for a week now. I have to call it quits. Unfortunately, the storyline just didn't hook me. I couldn't connect with the characters, I didn't really see the vision for where the story could go...just wasn't the right book for me. I know Carolyn Brown is a popular, much-loved author, and this was the first book I have read by her. I will definitely try other books by her, but this was not my cup of tea.
