This is one of those books that will touch your heart . Though at times it will be heartbreaking, at others it’s heartwarming , and funny.
Ms Ruggle gives us an engaging plot. The characters are fabulous and let’s not forget , the cranky cat.
You have Camille, who is not only introverted , but is also the town’s eccentric hermit and an artist. Steve is a firefighter, as well as managing the family’s Christmas tree farm , a widower and the father of four precocious , adorable kids. Camille had a crush on him in HS but she was the freshman nerdy gal, and he was the senior well liked boy.
After years away from home, Steve is back in town to give the kids a better life.
When a fire leaves Camille homeless, Steve invites her to his home where she falls in love with his kids as they do with her, while both of them start having feelings for each other.
There is also some suspense and a surprise “villain” at the end. All in all, another winner by this talented author. Can’t wait to see what else she has in store for us in the next book of the series.
I was entrusted this copy by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Camille is an introvert. It was cute, all the rambling that she does when she's in an awkward situation.
Steve's kids are awesome. Just shows what a great dad that he is.
Even though I knew where the ending was heading, I still couldn't believe it. Or didn't want to believe it. Ugh!

Rocky Mountain Cowboy Christmas by Katie Ruggle is the first book in her new Rocky Mountain Cowboy series. This is a spinoff from Ruggle’s other two series, Search and Rescue; and Rocky Mountain K-9 Unit.
Rocky Mountain Cowboy Christmas was a sweet Christmas romance. Camille Brandt, our heroine, is eccentric and a loner. The townsfolk know Camille doesn’t like to be around people, and only goes into town to shop or sell her artistic creations, which are beautiful masterpieces, and she uses scrap metal for her creations.

Steve Springfield, our hero and fireman, returns home to the family ranch, with his four children, after his wife died. When Camille sees him, she is flustered, since she remembers him from high school, and he is even hotter than she remembers. Camille doesn’t know how to act, especially with her social awkwardness.
She begins to slowly change and become more comfortable when she meets Steve’s kids, who were all interested in Camille and her designs. She finds herself falling hard for the kids, not to mention Steve. Steve was the perfect sweet hero, who was able to begin to bring Camille out of her shyness. There was also a cute cat that was a big part of the story.

Though this is a wonderful romance, there is an added element of mystery, as someone is creating fires; first at Camille’s home, and then at Steve’s house, where Camille was staying until she found a new place to stay. Who is stalking Camille and why?

I thought Steve and Camille were great together, and loved how slowly Steve won Camille over, and she began to open up more with others, and the kids, whom she loved.

The ending was somewhat exciting, as Camille tries to save herself and the kids. I will say that I wasn’t crazy about learning the identity of the culprit, but I do look forward to the next book in this series to find out more. Katie Ruggle once again gives us a wonderful fun story, sweet romance, great characters and a bit of a mystery. I strongly suggest you read Rocky Mountain Cowboy Christmas.

Full review to be published online in late September.

After having loved Ruggles first series and then struggling greatly with her K9 series; this lovely story was a welcome relief from an author I enjoy. Here, Camille is a bit of a recluse. She only ventures out when she must, and tries to make it where she avoids as many people as she possibly can. Steve has just moved himself and his kids home to live and work on his family's tree farm.

Camille unintentionally gets sucked into a bit of sibling rivalry with his kids; but she only has eyes for Steve. He has always been good to her in the past, and is her favorite of the Springfield boys.

The story flowed well and had a lot in it that I didn't expect. Very nice small town romance and a pleasant read.

Rocky Mountain Cowboy Christmas by Katie Ruggle was very entertaining and I recommend it to all who like a little cowboy, a Rocky Mountain scene, Romance, Suspense/Mystery and a good deal of humor. It was a well rounded book. The main characters were fun and believable. I loved Camille's shyness, verbal blunders, and social awkwardness. Steve and his brothers and children were well formed characters and added just that extra touch to the story. I found it interesting and was pulled into the story. My only down on the story was how it ended and how the suspense/mystery conclusion was handled. Other than that I recommend this book and look forward to reading more from Katie Ruggle.

Such a cute Christmas story, a romance about a hermit and a firefighter. Including kids.
I have to admit, though I like reading my Christmas novels around the actual time of the year, I couldn't help my self with this one. A Xmas story with a little suspense. Rocky mountain seems like a lovely place, both characters are interesting and I was invested to see how it played out. The only meh thing is that it was told in 3rd person POV. for me that is annoying but for some you may love that.

ARC copy for honest review.
Katie RUGGLE HAS done it again. Steve has moved his family back to his home town. Working on the family farm and working as a volunteer firefighter waiting for a spot to open up. A missing person case is called in and he and search and rescue are out looking for her when he runs into an old school mate. Camille is a recluse she doesn’t fit in with large amounts of people and has it bad for Steve even after all these years. When her home burns down Steve takes her to his home where she finds she fits with his four kids. Definitely worth reading. Love all Katie’s books. (less)

I really liked this one, loved how deliciously awkward Camille was. The author never made her out to be a clown, just a bit socially inept, but in the best way. I loved how from the start Steve did what he could to alleviate when Camille felt out of her depth. Their stumbling flirting made me smile, both were smitten, neither was sure what to do about it.

Steve's kids were great and played a bit part in things. They got front row seats to the awkwardness and were able to diffuse things at times and all of them seemed to be rooting for the adults.

The ending was a bit rushed for me and I didn't like what was going on or who was behind things, but that was because I wanted things to be perfect at the Ranch with everyone.

I look forward to reading more in this series.

I enjoy Katie Ruggle’s novels about small-town life in Colorado mountain towns. The weaknesses is that she introduces a bit of a thriller plot into her romances. The problem is that she doesn’t seem too invested in the thriller plot in this novel. We learn that some anonymous person is spying on the heroine, Camille. When we finally found out who the spy is, it’s totally unbelievable and unsatisfying.

We also have to buy a heroine who is so shy and introverted that, whenever she has to talk to some person, she starts babbling incoherently and embarrasses herself. Yet all these guys seem to be interested in her. We’re not really given much of a reason why Steve, the best single father you could possibly imagine, is so attracted to her.

But if you can suspend disbelief, the novel is worth it for Steve and his unbelievably appealing children.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

A fun Christmas romance! Ms. Ruggles makes her characters so accessible and relatable, and I think that's what I like the most. They aren't perfect, and she isn't afraid to show their flaws. Camille and Steve have a lovely relationship and are a great match. I loved Steve's kids, and they kind of reminded me of Jules' siblings in the K9 series. The romance is generally light and fun, and there is just enough danger/suspense to keep things interesting. I was definitely surprised by the twist! Can't wait for more from this author!

I absolutely enjoyed this story and its characters. I felt connected to shy and creative Camille and kind and steady Steve and thought they were made for each other. The way Katie Ruggle handled the teenage secret crush trope was fantastic and made both characters even more endearing.
I was delighted with Steve, it would be hard not to fall for a hero so earnestly smitten with the heroine and so gentle with his daughters predicaments (loved the scene in the Borne market and the depiction of disoriented but very committed fatherhood). I would have liked to have seen more of the story from his point of view.
Ruggle wrote an amazing heroine, with self-esteem and social anxiety issues that she somehow manages to control throughout the book; but I especially loved her artistry and creativity, the depiction of the creative process and to watch how the creative mind works.
The story has great secondary characters; I hope surly Joe will have his story (I was really curious about the seclusion); and Steve’s kids surely deserve it too, although here they felt a bit too perfect and smart.
The small town gossip and meddling was sometimes horrible, cruel, Ryan was an uncomfortable character and the villain’s identity a complete surprise – was I that distracted or was it a bit far-fetched?

I enjoy Kate Ruggle which is why I asked for this arc. I almost passed on it as my brain is full of cowboys and I need a respite. I am thrilled I asked and received this arc. The romance was sweet, and I could see the store. I felt like I was there. I wanted to smack the busy body neighbor. Kudos to Camille her humor and dealing with it;
I knew who the culprit was at his first appearance. It threw me off, I thought no way. Love. love, love the kids. I want to meet them all. Read the book, indulge in Christmas, support the introvert. Thank you Sourcebooks and NetGallley for the opportunity to read this arc. I voluntarily leave this review and all opinions are my ownwn.

Where did he live before Monroe?

Nosy old lady risked a lot of first responders to find a woman who was just working. Although, at least we know they all are ready for an actual missing person.

Aw. That was embarrassing for her, but probably very helpful for him as a single dad.

I love his daughters already, especially Zoe.

Wow, she has zero social graces. Nice.

That's a great idea, and a cute gimmick.

Wyatt is a lucky boy. I want that flying luge once Zoe creates it.

Ryan is becoming creepy, not suave.

Get a hobby, Mrs. Lin. Pronto.

Ugh, I hate both mice and cats.

If Ryan is the firebug...

Soup from a can is gross.

Only Mrs. Lin can insult her while doing something nice.

Will has more game than both adults.

Someone put a sculpture in her room while she was sleeping, and she doesn't think to tell someone in authority?

Naughty Steve, you brought a flask to school?

Loving with bacon.

I hope Justin is now fat and balding.

Son of a cracker. Maya drank that hot chocolate, and she was also in the barn!

I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I received an arc from Netgalley. I loved this quirky romance. Camille and Steve have an instant connection once they meet again. They follow up their first meeting with lots of quirky flirting scenes that were endearing.

Camille falls in love when Steve’s kids as well and even though danger presents itself these two stick together through thick and thin. Steve is said to be a hero but I think Camille is a hero in her own way as well. She opens the connection and fills a void for his children and family and displays forgiveness so well.

I loved this romance because it wasn’t just the beautiful woman going for the beautiful man it was much deeper and showed that true love comes from the inside.

Good story! Camille is a bit of a recluse. Ok, so she only ventures out when she must and tries to make it where she avoids as many people as she possibly can. That's normal, right? Steve has just moved him and his kids home to live/work on his family's tree farm. I absolutely adore his youngest daughter! She is just adorable.

Camille unintentionally gets sucked into a bit of sibling rivalry but she only has eyes for Steve. He has always been good to her and her favorite of the Springfield boys. The story flowed well and had a lot in it that I didn't expect. I had guessed who the bad guy was but was really hoping I was wrong!

It was a solid 4/5 for me. I do want to know more about this family!
Thank you to the publisher for the review copy of this book. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.

If you have't read Katie Ruggle you are missing out. Rocky Mountain Cowboy Christmas will put you in the holiday spirit even while you are trying to figure out who is trying to kill Camille Brant. This book has heart and soul mixed in murder and family. Its the perfect blend for a night in next to the fire.

Steve Springfield moves from Monroe (Rocky Mountain K-9 Unit Series) to his childhood home to find a better place for his growing kids.

Katie is about to combined the humor of family, the spirit of Christmas and a mystery that will keep readers wanting more as they close the book.

A practically perfect Christmas romance with a hermit, a firefighter, bad flirting, a cranky cat, wickedly smart kids, Christmas trees, and oh yes, a nasty stalker. I've been waiting ages for fireman Steve to get his story and Katie Ruggle did not disappoint.

As a proudly cranky introvert, I loved that not only was Camille shy and awkward, so was "Steve-freaking-Springfield"! Steve and Camille's mutually awkward and sweet crush was simply adorable. Even his kids noticed the two had no game. One of Steve's brothers even comments:
"I’ve never seen two people so bad at flirting. It was painful to watch. And here I thought Steve was good at everything.”
Also, I have to say that I absolutely loved Steve's kids. As much as I love Katie Ruggle's series with hot search and rescuers and hot K9 officers, I would totally sign up for a young adult series with Steve's kids testing their inventions, hot-wiring cars, eating bacon and wreaking havoc. The family bonds were some of the best moments in the book. Every word of the family "bacon is love" scene was pure gold.

However, I was seriously surprised and icked by the bad guy's identity. I can only put my faith in the author that any future books will find Camille, Steve, and the kids living good, bacon-filled lives free from danger.

4.5 stars
