DISCLAMOUR: Just because the book doesn’t rate high with me DOESN’T mean that someone else may not enjoy it to it’s fullest. It just didn’t click with me but may to others.

The premise of this story was a good one. For some reason though it really didn’t resonate with me. I would put the book down and read another story and come back to this one read a little more and put it down again. There were passages that I would have to read and re-read over to understand what the author was trying to convey. This is the first of the series that I have read so I had a hard time keeping track of some of the prior characters.

I did love the snarky thoughts that Micah had. This was not written in a dual POV format. At least that I can remember (again, I had to put it down several times to read other books.) I enjoy those the most as they help me to connect with both protagonists. That doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy them but it feels like something is missing to me.

This is a sexy read so really no one under the age of 18 should read this.

Well, this is #4...yup, and I keep waiting for the next and the next and the next!
This town has become one of my favorites.
I knew there was something with Leo that made me want to read his book!
This is a book of second chances and starting over and finding out what you really want out of life. I can't wait to read more books.
This is like wine, they get better and better..

I absolutely loved this book and all of the quirky, friendly and oh-so-sexy small town characters that live in the imagination of this wonderful author. The heroine, Micah, is a hot mess when we meet her on her wedding day and from the moment she hops on the back of a stranger’s motorcycle her life takes a turn for the better. Leo is the perfect romantic foil for Micah because he’s a hot mess too, trying to redeem himself and get back in his younger brother’s graces so these two have a whole lot of things in common. Great writing, lots of humor, flirtation and a hot sparks of sexual awareness that when combined makes a very entertaining contemporary romance that you won’t soon forget. I read a complimentary copy of this book provided by Kensington Books through NetGalley and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.

I've been "Charmed" again! As with all books in this series, there is love, laughter, wit, and a little drama. The characters feel natural and relatable without being too over the top. Trusting a stranger on a motorcycle isn't something we should all do, but boy does it work out for Micah! Their tension and chemistry is real even though she annoys him a little bit and he is definitely hiding something.
The story fits perfectly into the other Charmed books but can also stand alone (but why would you want to?!). I love the town and all of it's quirky characters as they make an appearance to tie it all together. Definitely a must read!

Whilst this is the fourth book in the Charmed in Texas series, it can be read on a standalone basis.

This was a wonderfully warm and charming small town romance. Our main couple, Leo and Michah, have a great chemistry although, the relationship bordered on being a little too insta love for my taste. That said, the main and supporting characters are likable and engaging and provide heartfelt feels and wit and humor to make you feel good.

The story flowed really well, I was invested and it left me feeling all squishy at the end. This series has delivered another charming read and I look forward to the next book.

Cute story, although nothing to rave over. The town of Charmed lived up to its charming name, and this was a sweet and easy to read romance.

Live your true life!

Charmed at First Sight is the first book I’ve read by Sharla Lovelace. Although this is the forth book in the Charmed in Texas series, I haven’t read books 1-3 and still found this book to be easily understood and followed.

Micah Roman is about to marry her long time boyfriend Jeremy, but something makes her realize that she can’t go through with it. So she runs from the church, in her huge wedding dress and stiletto shoes. She finally realizes that Jeremy has been controlling and she’s lost her old, fun, spontaneous self in the years she’s spent with him.

Micah hasn’t thought through her dash from the church! Her car is in a lot with controlling Jeremy having the keys. When a motorcycle stops in front of her, and the man asks if she needs help, she decides to jump on his motorcycle and go wherever he is going...Charmed, Texas.

As Micah is new in town, with nothing to her name, she luckily meets some women who pull her into their orbit and become true, fast friends. And the chemistry between Micah and Leo is quick and surprising.

I received an ARC of this book courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely.

I just loved this book best one of the series as far as I am concerned. Micah and Leo meet when he gives her a lift after she runs out on her wedding I had to chuckle at the thought of her in a big wedding dress on the back of his motorbike. Having not thought it threw she goes with him to a town nearby called Charmed, the people there are nice and help her out and she Keeps running into Leo. I liked the attraction between these two and enjoyed getting to know them. While this is the fourth book in the series it easily reads as a standalone.

These two outsiders struggle to find themselves and a place for themselves in the quaint little town of Charmed. Leo left town a long time ago in an effort to keep trouble away from his little brother. Now that he's back, he's having to come to terms that leaving his family protect them did just the opposite.

Micah is literally the runaway bride. Standing in the anteroom just before she was to walk down the aisle, she realizes that she can't spend the rest of her life playing a role she doesn't like. Yes, she wants to be a wife and mother someday, but only if the man in question respects her for who she is, not what he wants her to become.

I found that Leo's reasons for returning now weren't fully explored and could have used a little more explanation. Micah's reasons for giving up on her marriage before it began are fully believable. Many times, I think women find themselves agreeing to a relationship in order to please others, not that it necessarily fulfills a need within them. Micah's method may not have pleased her family, but it gave her the time she needed to figure out exactly who she wants to be.

I enjoyed this story and can't wait to see what happens next in Charmed.

Micah Roman is a desperate woman. So, jumping onto the back of a stranger's bike in order to run from her long-time fiancé and her wedding is what she decides to do. However, she never imagined her savior would tempt her the way he does and soon she finds herself falling for him. Will Micah and Leo fight for their shot at happy ever after or will Leo's shady past be too much for Micah to be able to handle?

Having really enjoyed the previous books of this series, I couldn't wait to read this book, and I've got to say that Ms. Lovelace has penned another wonderful read for this series where the main characters have plenty of chemistry; the dialogue was riveting due to the main characters back stories because Leo has a lot to make up for with his brother while the heroine discovers more and more that she made the right decision in running from her wedding because her groom-to-be is an absolute piece of work that doesn't deserve her. However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine come face-to-face for the first time that completely drew me into this story, as Leo just happens to be in the right place at the right time for Micah and she couldn't be more thankful.

As for the dialogue, it was intense due to the main characters back stories and everything these two go through on their journey to happy ever after including dealing with an ex that can't let what Micah did go and the heroine learning about Leo's past and how it ties into her present. Moreover, the heroine is strong and brave when it comes to confronting the man she left at the altar and I liked that she didn't stop fighting to get back things that were rightfully hers. I also liked the close relationship she has with her siblings and that they would do anything for her, especially since she did the right thing by not going through with the wedding. Yet, what I liked most of all about the heroine was that she took a chance on Leo, even though there are things in his past that have proven he lets people down. Then again, Leo is doing everything he can to make things right, so he's got that going in his favor.

While the hero, he's been through a lot in his life, which wasn't always easy. Really, he has a lot of regrets, especially when it comes to the one person he cared about and tried to take care of, yet ended up failing. Will he be able to make things right with his brother? Will his brother give him a chance, considering how badly Leo let him down in the past? Moreover, the hero was kind in doing what he did for Micah and I liked how protective he was of her when it came to helping her deal with the man she ran out on before she was to be married. I also liked his confidence and how he's managed to turn his life around to get to where he is.

Overall, Ms. Lovelace has delivered a really good read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was tangible; the romance was well worth the wait once Micah and Leo realized they could no longer fight their feelings; and the ending had me worried for the main characters, but had me liking how protective the hero was of the heroine. However, what I liked most of all about the ending was that Micah realized life was so much better with Leo in it. So, how could she not want to fight for a future with him? I would recommend Charmed at First Sight by Sharla Lovelace, if you enjoy the mysterious strangers trope, small town romances or books by authors Kelly Moran, Marina Adair, Miranda Liasson and Jill Shalvis.

This is the fourth book in the Charmed in Texas series. Can easily be read as a stand-alone. A charming romance!

Charmed at First Sight by Sharla Lovelace is book Four in the Charmed in Texas series. This is the story of Micah Roman and Leo McKane. I haven't yet read the previous books, so for me this was a standalone book.
Micah is about to be married but ends up doing a 'Runaway Bride" dash out the wedding. Micah then jumps onto the back of the bike owned by Leo. Which leads her to start discovering what she used to be and what she wants to be now instead of her past self with her former fiancé. Leo too has things he has to work on but the two start finding out that they can be themselves with each other.
Really enjoyable read!

This is a lovely little contemporary romance with some suspense thrown in for thrills. I connected with Micah right off and loved the panicked confusion driving her. Since it was told in Micah’s point of view, I had to guess at Leo’s motivations and thoughts. Because a lot of the suspense involved his past, it would have been nice to hear his thoughts as well – it would have made the pace of their relationship clearer also. I enjoyed the townspeople, the emotional undercurrent and the romance. It’s a fun summer read that will leave you with a smile.

Micah Roman was seconds away from walking down the aisle to get married when she realized she didn’t like who she had become. So at the spur of the moment, and with absolutely zero plans, she fled the church. When a man on a motorcycle offers her a ride, she hops on the back. And ends up in Charmed, Texas! Home of colorful characters, quirky town traditions, and some of the best people you’ll ever meet. I mistakenly thought book three of this series was the final one, but I’m glad I was wrong!

However, after reading this fourth book, I’m kind of conflicted. On the plus side, Charmed is indeed a charming town - full of as many quirky people as there are kind ones. The town also has a bit of its own personality, with traditions that facilitate all kinds of hijinks and the hilarity that inevitably ensues. And it’s always fun to see beloved characters from the previous books! Also, the heroine’s internal dialog was really funny. Paired with Ms. Lovelace’s effortless humor and skilled dialog between the characters, this was a fun, enjoyable book to read.

The minus side of this book is that it was missing the emotional connection between the main characters that was present in the previous books, and fell far short in the romance department. When they first meet, Leo is willing to help Micah get away, but he’s rather begrudging about it. Then he doesn’t seem pleased to discover they will be living next door to each other. Every interaction they have for the first couple days is combative and uncomfortable.

The next thing you know, the two are kissing, followed rather quickly (like a day or two later) by the steamy times. I’ve come to expect a decent amount of relationship development from this series, so feeling like that’s missing was a disappointment. And for some reason I just didn’t buy it this time. It’s hard to feel broken hearted for a couple whose relationship lasted a grand total of a week (?) and then falls apart.

Add in some bad guys who really were bad guys (instead of the goofball bad guys from the previous books), and this wasn’t the feel-good story I was expecting. And again...the bad guys did some REALLY bad things, and it’s just sort of glossed over. Which, maybe that is the way of Charmed, Texas, where even the terrible things that happened aren’t all that terrible after all.

For me, book one was good, book two was better, book three was great, book four, however, was back to good. Even the cover for this book had a totally different look than the previous ones in the series, which should have been an indication that I was in for something a bit different.

I’m not sure how I feel about there being more to the series. Because on one hand I liked the previous couples in this series and will be glad to see them again, but Charmed at First Sight only charmed me with the writing and not so much with the characters or their story. But I am sure that I’ll be looking forward to reading more from this series!

Micah had just run out of a very expensive wedding nd left jeremy at the altar. Micah knew she ahd to make it to the signal light at the corner then she wasn’t sure what. Her car was behind the church but Jeremy had her keys in his pocket to take them to their wedding reception. Micah had left her phone in the dressing room. Everyone from town was at the wedding because Jeremy’s mother CeeCee had invited them all. Then a gut pulled up on a Harley and Micah found herself walking toward him and he asked if she needed help. Jeremy called Micah’s name and Micah’s two brothers Thatcher and Jackson were there. When Micha looked into the Harley man's eyes even though Micah didn’t know him from Adam Micah felt the weirdest pukk ever. Jeremy had already started toward Micah. Then Micah asked if he was going to kill her as she climbs on the motorcycle in her wedding gown. When Micah asked where they were going Harley man said he was going to Charmed. Micah decided her decision making abilities needed an overhaul. Micah had lived with Jeremy in his house for the last two years and shared an apartment for five years before that. They were looking for the Micah who had put away her spontaneous fly - by- the- seat -of- her- pants ways, along with the tendencies to detach and run when things got to tough, the bar waitress-slash-sometimes- artist-whatever made money that had stepped out of those unstable shoes into business ownership with her brother channeling her spirited creativity into the flower farming instead. Micah could hear her brothers now. Not Jackson, he knew Micah’s soul, her heart, her endless need for rebellious and non-conformity. Jackson got her. The Harley guy told Micah his name was Leo McKane. Micah called Thatcher to let him know she was okay and was going to meet him possibly the next night. When Micah gets to Thatcher's the next night, then Jeremy came in and then Micah found out how Jeremy had screwed her over with her car that she made all the payments for yet was in Jeremy’s name and legally she could not take it. Then Jeremy passed out in the chair as Micah tried to explain why she ran from the wedding. But people like Allie and Gabi here in Charmed had already helped her and continued to help her and there was Leo who had come to her rescue now more then once.
I loved this book. I loved the plot and the pace. I loved Leo and Micah together. I loved how Micah was to her brothers. Jeremy was crazy and I was glad Micah had left him at the altar. I loved how Micah punched CeeCee -Jeremy’s mother- in the face after she had hit Micah. This was an insta love/lust romance but didn’t hurt the story. This was a fun, easy, romantic in its way read. I loved how boith Micah and Leo fought their attraction as long as they could. I couldn’t find anything to criticize. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book, I highly recommend.

4.5 stars - Who doesn't love a good runaway bride story I sure do she's been with this guy for eight years and at the very last tournament realizes that she's lost herself in the relationship wanting to be with he wants of her she's lost her self so she hopped on the back of a motorcycle with a hot guy she doesn't know and heads towards the unknown. It turns out that the hot guy has a really good heart and in addition to being smoldering, he has a demon or two in his past, some amends to make and a brother with home he longs to reconnect.

Once in Charmed, our heroine finds her former and new lives are colliding in scary and dangerous ways. The hero steps up time and time again and the HEA is one that you really don't want to his.

I enjoyed it from front to back cover.

Though this book started out similar to some other bride on the run romantic tales I’ve come across, I must say the bizarre big reveals/turn of events at the end were not what I was expecting, folks.

With a leisurely paced, stereotypical setup, we find Micah, the heroine, getting her breath and bearings back after jilting her long term boyfriend at the altar. As bad luck would have it, she winds up in a town where most people recognize her name without ever having met her. She soon gets to know Leo, the hero, up close and personal as they find themselves often face to face in this quaint, small town. For some time, the storyline flowed and followed a pretty much business as usual as far as romantic reads go.

With quite a few sub-characters intermixed into the writing, we see the main couple interact in one way or another with them. Not surprisingly, you will learn all of Leo’s secrets and past history. That, my fellow romance book loving friends, was a turn that set in motion a last minute, bizarre chain of events that I had a hard time accepting. Instead of finding it original, I found it downright odd and didn’t like one particular aspect at all. Sure, it proved a point that one particular person was downright evil, but the shared history of two unlikely people was distasteful to me. It felt wrong to have the heroine dragged into that hot mess.

Overall, I enjoyed most of it. The ending kind of ruined this one for me. Here’s to hoping it’s just me, folks. I just didn’t like the direction the writing turned in final wrap up.

Title: Charmed at First Sight, Charmed in Texas (Book 4), Author: Sharla Lovelace, Pages: 244, stand-alone but part of a series, very steamy scenes, dirty talking alpha protective hero, bizarre big reveals and turn of events at the end didn’t appeal to me.

Charmed in Texas has been such as great series and this book is another great addition! It sounds like such a quaint and quirky little town, and I wish I could visit it myself! This is Leo and Micah’s story, and it was such a fun read! Micah is a runaway bride and meets Leo by chance. I did find it a little odd that she just happened to run into Leo after running out of the church. But then that would have changed the entire story. There also was a little confusion about Leo and his estrangement. However, you’ll have to read the book to know what I am talking about! It was still a fantastic read, and I was hooked from start to finish. I highly recommend this book and the entire series!

Runaway brides looking for identity, purpose, love or something is a perfect description of Charmed at First Sight by Sharla Lovelace. Charmed has more to do with where Micah finds herself then it does Micah herself. This is women’s fiction with a dose of romance.

New characters and new perspective bring Charmed, Texas to life. I liked Micah, Leo, and the supporting cast, especially Gabi. The relationship between Leo and Micah was fast, fast, fast to feel real, especially when one who had run from a wedding just the week before. Then at the end of the book there were unanswered questions that hopefully the answers will be revealed as the series continues. Such as will Leo’s brother have his story so that the readers can better understand that relationship or lack of between the two brothers. Enjoyable story if you take at face value.

If you haven’t read any of Sharla Lovelace’s novels (as I haven’t), this is a good place to start. A runaway bride and a man on a motorcycle make for an interesting beginning and a satisfying conclusion. This small-town romance is sweet, and I fell in love with Charmed (the town) as much, if not more so, than the characters themselves.

Complete with an alpha male, a crazy ex, and an independent heroine, Charmed at First Sight has all the elements of a good romance novel: strong characters, interesting storyline, and a dash of suspense thrown in for good measure.
