This was just an average read for me. Told by alternating POV's between a detective investigating a double homicide and an ex-SAS operative searching for a missing girl. It's clear that their stories will become connected, I think I just figured it out too soon so the ending of the book was a bit predictable for me.

I did enjoy the easy, short chapters. The subject matter was quite dark so content warnings should be reviewed.

Found it difficult to get on with this very heavy storyline and did not find it very enjoyable at all.

Hodge did a great job with such difficult content. I love the different voices and felt drawn in by each character. I will put any book written by Hodge on my too read shelf.

Okay... so... here's the thing, I'm torn. I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority here, but there's something about this one that just wasn't a homerun for me. Let me see if I can break it down.

The first thing I want to point out, is that this is a very heavy storyline. It's subject matter is not one to be taken lightly, so please, don't misunderstand me. Having said that, I feel it should have had more impact on me. I was about half way through the book before I realized that I hadn't felt captivated, I felt no connection, I didn't find myself rooting for any particular character. Certainly not "The Missing" in which I should of had great sympathy for, but unfortunately there was just not enough depth to her character. Or any of the characters for that matter.

The Vigilante may have been the only reason I continued to read on. There was just the smallest hint of action, intrigue, and character development, that kept me nibbling on the line. It's truly a shame though, because this storyline had such great potential to have a huge impact, but sadly it fell short with a lack of strong characters.

I want to thank NetGalley, Amazon Publishing UK, and Sibel Hodge for allowing me the opportunity to read this novel in exchange for my review.

Wow, there is no words to describe this book. Thrilling, entertaining, riveting, gripping, please someone give me a dictionary!
It was very well written, and I highly recommend it!!!

This is not a standalone. The story refers to characters over and over again who must have made an appearance in a previous case because it left me a bit lost. For the mystery in this book it is told from three points of view, the missing, the vigilante and the detective. The plot was fast paced knowing that the three different POVs were on a collision course to meet together at the crucial end.

Into The Darkness by Sibel Hodge is a thriller about the dangers of the dark web. It's also a very dark read and told through the viewpoint of 3 characters.

Told from the perspective of three characters this is a good old fashioned crime novel. Each one has their own battles and you go on this journey with them to see how they are all connected. Scary to see how dark people can be.

Thanks to Amazon Publishing UK for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I really loved this book. But then again, I'm never disappointed by Sibel's book. As recommended as ever!

I love this author and her work.

This book did not disappoint and I absolutely loved it

The book is extremely fast-paced and it had me hooked more or less from the first page

You can tell from how the book is written that the author has done a lot of research to write this book.

Another great page turner. I look forward to reading the author’s future work

Thank you #NetGalley for an advanced copy of #IntoTheDarkness!

I really had to think about how to review this one... By no means was this a bad book but I felt it took a little too long to get to the exciting parts! There were a few twists within the story but for me personally, the big reveal of who the killer is was not very exciting! I’m always waiting for that big “wow” moment and this just feel a little short. I will say, contrary to other reviews I’ve read, I did not find this book overtly violent. So if you are someone who enjoys a good mystery and doesn’t care as much about the “wow” factor, this ones for you!

Geez what a book, once again she delivers!!!!

The book is told from 3 different people, the police, the vigilante and the victim.
All I will say is you will be sleeping with the light on, it delves deep into the dark web where the worst of the worst reside, there are murder and kidnapping and god knows what else!

Scary in parts and had me up most of the night...a must read

Obviously I am in the minority here. This book just didn't work for me. I found the story to be slow, boring and it was not very suspenseful. There were no twists and definitely no wow factor. The chapters alternate from 3 different POVs: the Missing, the Vigilante and the Homicide Detective. I think I would have been more connected with the characters if the chapters used their names instead. The way the book is written can be confusing. Also, it felt like I jumped into a middle of a series without reading the prior books.

Seemingly unconnected and written from three points of view, abductions, murders, corruption plus the unsavoury side of the web. Want a slow burner?? Then do not choose this book because it starts as it means to go on - full speed ahead and with no pit stops for a breather. This is a book hell bent on shaking you out of your stupor with a race against time to save the life of a young girl. Brilliant, addictive, topical and a must for anyone who enjoys adrenaline packed stories. Get it to put in a Christmas stocking!

4.5*
Evil lives.
Just a word of warning...this book is not for the feint of heart.

A seemingly innocent middle age couple is gunned down in their own home. No viable suspects, no conceivable reason for anyone to target this couple.

Into The Darkness....

18 year old Toni decides to strike out on her own, investigating unspeakable crimes she’s un-earthed on the internet. Dangerous work. Naive and totally unprepared, she’s quickly in over her head and oh yes, now missing.
Only weeks away from retirement, it’s up to DS Warren Carter and retired SAS agent Mitchell, to find Toni before it’s too late. Is there a possible connection between the two murders and Toni’s disappearance?

Sibel Hodge writes an absolutely terrifying thriller that will leave you chilled to the bone. And it left me with a lingering question: Can the evil described in this book truly exist in our society. I’m so sad to say it probably does.
If you’re braced and prepared to go into the darkness then this is a must read for you this year!

This was a buddy read with Susanne that we couldn’t help but read in just a couple of sittings.🌸

Thank you to NetGalley, Amazon Publishing UK and Sibel Hodge for my advance copy to read and review.

Another gripping tale from Sibel Hodge. Her books never disappoint - engaging, twisty and suspensefull. As usual, she tackles quite difficult subject matter with great sensitivity. The characters are well developed and realistic. A good read.
Many thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for the ARC.

Provided with a free ARC by Netgalley for an honest review. Really amazing mystery. Just a bit confusing at first because of the separate POV's and story lines but it quickly coalesces into a riveting and frightening mystery. One story line involves a missing girl, Toni. Her mother contacts an old friend and former SAS operative to find her. The other story line concerns the murder of an elderly couple and the detective trying to solve the case. This is a very dark book with murder, kidnapping, torture, rape, the dark web and red rooms. It requires a strong stomach at times but I found it very worth reading. I enjoyed it very much and highly recommend it.
