This book is the conclusion of a series and I’d recommend reading the books in order because I was sort of lost though the first part of the book.
I liked all the quilting and quilts discussed in the book.
The plot surrounding the quilting was decent.
The author did tie in the previous books’ characters.

This is the sixth book in this series. I have not read any books prior to this one, which is kind of my M.O. Discovering an author late in the game, then I get hooked and go back and read everything that I can get my hands on! I received this book quite a while ago and I am literally kicking myself for not reading it sooner! The worst part about this is that I have had this book for so long, but unfortunately, I did not read it sooner. I am so sorry that I had not read this sooner
We begin this book with Sadie McGuiness showing up on her long-lost half-sister’s doorstep. Sadie’s other family members would not be thrilled to know where she was and what she was doing. This sister was conceived by Sadie’s daddy having an affair with a teenage girl, nonetheless. Paige Watkins was her name and she was living right in Nashville!! Only a year younger than Sadie, she was curious why they hadn’t crossed paths sooner. Sadie had Facebook stalked her and found out that she was married and has the cutest seven-year-old daughter named Haley. Sadie was met with a handsome man when she knocked on Paige’s door. Handsome man introduces himself as Riley, comic book artist and part-time babysitter. How would you feel about a sibling that was illegitimate? It is family, after all. I would have expected Paige to have been surprised to see her sister, but she was not, she knew about all of them, actually. We are taken on quite the journey with Sadie, Paige, Riley mainly with the other siblings sprinkled in the story. This indeed was the sweetest story. The title Patchwork Quilt is so apropos! A family that is pieced together and sewn together here and there. I am so mad at myself that I am just now reading this book! My deepest apologies to the author for waiting so long to read this. I have looked and am excited to read the first five books in this series, the cookbook, the songbook and the Children’s book. The author has so many books and I cannot wait to get my hands on some of them to read them! I hope you guys enjoy this one as much as I did!

Pleasant nonsense, but completely forgettable. A book for a delayed train when there is really nothing else available.

Beautifully written Christian romance. This is book 6 in the Dare River series and is easily read as a stand alone story. I missed the previous 5 books but I've already got them in my TBR stack. Riley is a graphic cartoon artist and has pretty much given up on finding a wife and mother for his young daughter. He thinks he has a great setup with the couple next door and their daughter who is same age and best friend of his girl. Then he meets Sadie who discovers the woman next door is her half sister. I'm assuming the previous books in the series deal with Sadie's brothers and sisters. When they all get together for Christmas it gives a lot of background for all the couples. Wonderful read without being too preachy. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Sadie comes from a large family, who discover their father's betrayal in the early years of their lives, produces a younger sister - Paige.
Paige is a strong young woman, who has dealt with a tough upbringing, has a wonderful husband and daughter and lives next to their best friend, Riley, a single father to young Jess.
Sadie walks into their lives and forever they are bonded - or are they?
Sadie is a wonderful quilter who just wants to bring her newest sister into the fold. She invites her to her quilting group and is hoping for a strong connection with her.
Sadie and Riley never expected to connect in such a way or as fast as they did.
Past catches up with both of them and they learn that fighting for your future is worth it in the end.

A really lovely story. Entwined with artistic characters and quilting, it deals with love, loss and happiness. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more from this author. Well recommended.

I love all the books in this series and was excited to see this newest book. Thank you metgalkey for the opportunity to read an arc of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. The Patchwork Quilt of Happiness is an emotional story, but one I really liked. The family story is very real and well written. Can't wait for the next installment.

This story was so good. Sadie went to find her 1/2 sister and found love with the next door neighbor. She and her family had just found out about Paige and her family. This story had lots of family drama. I haven't read the first books of the series, but there was lots of extended family and their stories were wonderful. I laughed and shed more than a few tears. The two little girls that lives next to each other were precious. They are going to be best friends foreveer. I'm going to go looking for the rest of the series.

Dedication from this book:

"To every child who's ever been abandoned. You are precious. And you are loved."
Man, did it touch my heart!!!
This is a book about one single dad and how he found the love of his life. He was not a man-ho. He dated some people before meeting our heroine, but he was all over his little daughter. He was fun, artistic, and so hotttt!! LOL
Our heroine was a bit shy and a lot “Christian” about sex. I don’t understand why she only would have sex after “I love you”... But ok, her mother was a preacher, maybe there is a clue...
Our heroine’s father abandoned his family with 4 or 5 children (LOL, i didnt remember how much they were). And the mother of our hero abandoned her girl after she had her.
NO OP scenes, no cheating. Some crazy ex.
It was a sweet and thoughtful read. I like this author’s style a lot.

This is one of those stories that is syrupy sweet. The main character is described as sassy, which seems to be difficult to write. Some authors take the sassiness as being a b***h, others fill that talk with innuendo, and some make each scene into a "awww, isn't she cute" moment. Few get it just right. This story falls into the "isn't she cute" category. Sadie is just so darn cute that she doesn't seem real. I didn't feel the chemistry between the two characters that I wanted to feel. The quilting aspect didn't feel genuine either. I didn't hate the story, but it wasn't one of the better ones.

A very sweat, emotional love story. I've loved reading books by Ava Miles since her novel Nora Robert's Land, and this book is just as good. This can be read as a stand alone but I think it just adds to the fun to read the other 5 books in the series.

A good romance between Riley, a single dad, and Sadie. When Sadie comes looking for his neighbor, who is her half sister, the romance begins. Overall I liked the book and characters, the only thing I didn't care for was Riley's attitude and dismissal of her at the end, before he wised up of course. At times I found him annoying too, and didn't see much attraction, but I guess that is fine. As a quilter myself, I enjoyed some of the discussion of quilt making, although more would have been fine too. In general, I would highly recommend this book and author.

The Patchwork Quilt of Happiness like all books by Ava Miles will cause your emotions to run the gamut. Sadie and Riley’s story especially will bring more than one tear to the eye. Sadie the quilter and worker at the local fabric store has always been an endearing supporting character so it is wonderful to see her find happiness with a special man.

The story draws you in and holds on to you. It is one of family drama, acceptance, healing and understanding what the word “family” really means. The characters, grown-ups and children, will become loved friends. So while you are glad to see them find love, you just hate to see the story end.

I was given an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I have read a number of books by Ava Miles and enjoyed them, so was excited to be able to read this one.
Sweet, romantic and emotional, this book was a good read. Loved learning more about all the characters as they featured in earlier books in the series. Definitely can be read as a standalone.
4 stars

Great installment in the series! I love this family and how they are with each other! Just the way a family should be! Not perfect, never perfect.....but there for each other just the same!
