I do love a second chance romance trope. Chase and Miriam had an intense summer romance. That ended with Miriam heartbroken. Fast forward 10 years and both have moved on with their lives, but have never really forgotten each other. Chase has been busy being Mayor back in Texas. He heads to Montana to spend Thanksgiving at his Mansion. While in the local supermarket he bumps into his old flame Miriam. She is shocked to say the least, when they part he offers her his card and tells her to contact him if she ever needs anything. Miriam feels bad for him being all alone for Thanksgiving, so invites Chase to join her for a family meal. Chase declines and thinks he wont hear from her again.
Miriam just cant relax so drives to his place with all the makings of a Thanksgiving meal. She intends to give him the food then drive back to her place. As the town is in the middle of a blizzard.
Chase is so surprised to see her, especially in this bad weather.Forced to stay and ride out the bad weather with each other. Its only a matter of time till the chemistry explodes with these two.
I really enjoyed this story it kept me captivated till the ending. What can i say about that end but oh wow. Jessica Lemmon sure knows how to write captivating romance, with just the right amount of ingredients to make a 5 star read.

My Thoughts.....

This was a perfect sweet read as Miriam 'Mimi' Andrix and Chase Ferguson find their way into a second chance romance.

What had seemed for them 10 years ago [summer fling] wasn't to be but now Chase has come back in BigFork, Montana for a Thanksgiving holiday from his mayor duties in Dallas and who does he bumps into coming out of the whole food store? Well, it seems like fate will come for theses two as Mimi who was from BigFork ends up bringing Chase several slices of pumpkin pie which was his favorite [with dinner] and with a snow storm is coming up and one thing will lead to another... she ends up having to spend nights and days with Chase at his mansion. Why did Mimi feel the need to bring Chase Thanksgiving dinner? So, what will come of all of this situation as the reader will see that "from fireside chats to soaking in the indoor hot tub, eating some grilled cheese sandwiches [with no tomatoes for Mimi] and let's not forget the some hot steamy sex that seemed to rekindle their passion. However, will we see these two reconciling their past with the present in all that is going on especially with Chase since he was running for reelection?" When it seems like all is getting somewhat better for these two there will be a interruption that will bring everything to a stop. Will there diverse backgrounds still seem to be a problem for them as it was 10 years ago? How do these old problems still exist? This is where I say you will have to pick up "A Snowbound Scandal" to see how well this author presents this good story to her readers and all of the unanswered questions will be answered.

If you would like a story of a couple that were truly meant to be finally getting a second chance at love then this would be a definitely good read for you.

This was a fun second chance romance involving the Mayor Dallas and an environmentalist from Montana. Ten years ago they had a wild summer in Montana and fell in love and when Mimi followed Chase back to Dallas he realized immediately that was not the place for her and she would never be happy there and sent her packing back to Montana...all for her...and he would make the sacrifice to keep her happy. Ten years later a picture crosses his desk of her at a protest rally and may be used against him in his reelection. Oh the memories this brings back! Not only that but it is Thanksgiving and Chase is off by himself to his mansion in Montana and after a chance meeting outside Whole Foods Mimi finds out Chase is there and alone. She cannot get him out of her mind and since he refuses to come to dinner, she takes dinner to him, and, of course, a blizzard is happening and she is stranded for the holiday weekend. All the feels this inspired being stranded and ultimately seduced had me flipping pages so fast I'm surprised my kindle survived it. These two are perfect together but will they survive the end of the weekend. Definitely recommend this one! Oh, not sure how I missed the book before this one but going to have to find it and there is one coming up. This can be read as a standalone.

Quick easy read. Great palate cleanser.

Chase and Mimi have a past that can not be denied even 10 years later. A chance meeting at Whole Foods brings Mimi face to face with the one that got away.

I love the second chance romance genre. This one is a wonderful quick read that was like a breath of fresh air!

This book was not for me. It just would not hold my attention to keep me reading. This book is a DNF. I have read many of Jessica Lemmon's books and this book just wasn't working for me. This book maybe for other readers.

I love a good second chance love story & when the couple get stuck together in a snowstorm, it’s the perfect setting to let old passions resurface!

Chase and Mimi were happy, young kids in love until differing career aspirations and a meddling mother led him to end their affair & send her home alone. Ten years later, Chase is a big time politician and when his past relationship with Mimi has the potential of being used against him, he reconnects with her. It frankly took me a long time to warm up to Chase. He came across as really detached & more than a bit of a jerk. It was hard to even comprehend why Mimi would go out of her way to reach out to him, especially after he broke her heart. As Chase became more active in winning Mimi back & some of his true motivations were revealed, it became a very engaging & steamy love story. I especially loved the ending!!

This was my first Jessica Lemmon book & I’m already intrigued by the antagonistic relationship between Chases sister Stefanie & best friend Emmett. They will be the couple in the next book in the series & I can’t wait to see how that plays out.

Christmas in July? No thanks, I’ll take Thanksgiving in August with Jessica Lemmon’s A Snowbound Scandal! Cool off and heat up with this second chance meets forced proximity installment in the Dallas Billionaire’s Club. Chase and Mimi start off frosty as they reunite at Thanksgiving but a blizzard has them, and Readers, warming up quickly. Chase was intriguing in Zach and Pen’s story so I knew his story would be just as great, and it did not disappoint. I loved that Mimi wasn’t afraid to confront her feelings and Chase. Now we just need to get Stephanie settled down!

Second chance romance is one of my many favorite troupes.
Chase Ferguson, Texas oil billionaire with a future in politics. He’s a good and honorable man and puts his life on the back burner for the better good of his family and his community.
Miriam “Mimi” Andrix is a strong and independent woman, straight forward and kind, believes in the good and honor of the people around her. She has fought against Big Oil and the damage it’s done to the environment. Now she works with teenagers to beware of their environment and the world around them.
Chase and Mimi shared a romance filled summer ten years ago. Even though his feelings for Mimi were strong Chase broke it off and sent her away. Now the Mayor of Dallas and involved in a upcoming election, Chase receives a photo of Mimi protesting Big Oil Companies, a warning that his opponent may dig up old history.
A chance meeting, thanksgiving dinner and a snowstorm is about to give them their second chance at love. In the ten years they’ve matured, dated and still are lonely for what could of been. If Chase can finally put himself first and Mimi fight for what she wants they just might have a chance.

A Snowbound Scandal is a second-chance (we think we're) opposites attract story. Mimi Andrix is an environmentalist that loves the outdoors and teaching kids about what they can do to protect the environment. On the other hand, Chase Ferguson is the son of an oil family and is now deep into politics - but he's one of the good ones.

With a little bit of holiday spirit and a little bit of "I'm going to give you a piece of my mind," Mimi heads to Chase's vacation mansion with a Thanksgiving dinner so he won't be alone eating frozen food for the holiday. Stranded at his house by a snowstorm, Mimi and Chase decide to make the best of the circumstances and, well, this is a romance - so one thing leads to another - but eventually they part ways again. At least for a little while

There were only a few points of the story that I had a hard time with - possibly because I did not read the rest of the series and one of the side stories seemed to carry over from another book. Outside of this one small thing, the story does very well as a standalone holiday romance. I loved Mimi, her desire to do the right thing, and her ability to not really care what anyone else thought. Chase was a bit of a stick in the mud, but in the end I enjoyed seeing a more spontaneous and softer side.

I love that A Snowbound Scandal is more of a winter-theme than a true Christmas theme. While the holidays (mostly Thanksgiving) are mentioned, it's more about the snowstorm and being snowed in with the one that got away.

Jessica Lemmon is one of my go-to authors for great, sexy romances. This was a wonderful, second-chance romance. It was great to see how Miriam and Chase find their way back to each other.

I am not sure why, but in this one I struggled a bit liking Chase. This is odd for me, as I generally love Jessica Lemmon's characters, even the complete asshole men that she occasionally writes (looking at you here, Eli) and the redemption story as they fall in love with the perfect woman. Chase wasn't even really a jerk...yes, a little controlling with a bit of a habit of telling others what to do (for their own good, of course) and a little bit of the type to make decisions for others, but all in all, not a bad guy. And, he did grow on me by the end.

So, I am still not sure what it was about him that I didn't totally connect with. Although, I can say I really liked him by the end and completely understood why Miriam decided that a life with him was absolutely worth dealing with the fact that he is the major of Dallas.

I know Ms. Lemmon has said that she loves a forced proximity story, and it shows as it is well crafted and the reason that they are stuck together ( a combination of weather and stubbornness) works well and allowed me to believe that these 2 people would be in the situation, that they were going to be forced to put up with one another, and it was going to turn steamy.

I also liked the ending, the little bit of the life he leads sneaking into their idyllic world. For me, that is the challenge in a book like this, I want to know when they are freed from the cabin, the snowplows show up, that the relationship is going to be strong enough to continue to work when they are no longer forced to be in the same place. And, adding in the outside world allowed me to believe this is more than a weekend fling.

I enjoyed and recommend this title.

This is a sweet 2nd chance romance. Quite realistic as politicians are always under the microscope.
The storyline was good as well as the characters. I myself, didn't connect with it as well as I would have liked, tho I did enjoy the read.

A second-chance romance that had me rooting for them from the first page. Even being snowed in couldn't cool off the heat between these two and when they gave in to the past and the chance of a future, there was no stopping them in the present!

A Snowbound Scandal is a second chance romance that is sure to melt your heart just a little. They may have ended things once, but the get that loving feeling when they get together again..

I loved Chase and Mimi together, they had that little extra something that made me want to cheer them on throughout the story and I loved the ending. Can't wait for the next book <3

I read this without reading the first book in the Dallas Billionaires Club series, Lonestar Lovers. I felt a little left out of the story though it deals with a different couple. Chase regrets leaving Miriam. He thought he was protecting her from his very public political life. Chase and Miriam get stuck in his mansion while a snowstorm rages outside and all the feelings for each other come back. The reason why Miriam showed up at Chase's mansion in the first place was a little far-fetched. It was sweet but nothing really remarkable about the couple or their love story.

4.5

Ten years ago, before he became the Mayor of Dallas, Chase Ferguson was a young man having a summer fling with a young woman, Miriam Andrix. By the end of that summer, however, the real world started creeping into their relationship and, after going to Dallas with Chase, he ended up sending Miriam straight back to Montana. To be fair, Chase was, in his mind, protecting Miriam from the scrutiny of what living life in the public eye would offer.

Now, ten year later, Chase is back in Montana for the Thanksgiving holiday, taking some much needed time off. When he runs into Mimi again the sparks fly, and when she happens to get snowed in at his mansion for the weekend, they'll be forced to face what was between them then and maybe what could be between them now.

Second-chance romances are probably my favorite trope. Here, couple it's with a "snowed-in" angle and that just makes Chase and Mimi's story even more delightful. I loved the consideration that Jessica Lemmon puts into what exactly it is Chase and Mimi each want out of life. I don't know that I've read a second-chance romance before where I wasn't sure if they could, or would, make it work in the end simply due to the fact that they both seemingly have obligations (work, family, goals, etc) pulling them in different directions. The fact that both of them are scared of being hurt again, as they both undeniably were ten years ago, is subtle yet plays a huge part in whether or not they end up together in the end.

Right now, being in the middle of the summer, the snowy landscape around the holidays makes for a fine setting and makes me yearn for the weather change. The mansion seemed like this awesome wonderland. Truly the place you want to be if you have to be snowed in anywhere.

Jessica Lemmon truly gives a good chunk of the book to the "snowed-in" part. It's important to show Chase and Mimi reconnecting after a ten year separation and finding out who they are again, or what they've come to value as they've grown up. A lot can change in ten years, so I was happy that the scenes between them while stuck in Chase's mansion weren't rushed or glossed over in any way.

A Snowbound Scandal was a light, quick read, and I enjoyed this book as much as Jessica Lemmon's previous books. She does a good job of setting up youngest Ferguson sibling, Stefanie's, book by including a couple of passages from her point of view. Already I'm excited for it.

What's more perfect than a blizzard outside and two people possibly getting a second chance at love? This story will take you to that time and what happens between Chase and Miriam. A lovely heartwarming romance that gives the pair several try's at finding love again. You are going to wish it's snowing out as you read this book and as the author states you will be craving not cocoa. Such an enjoyable book!

I loved this second chance, forced proximity story! Chase and Miriam had to revisit what they each wanted in life and actually pursue that in order to get their HEA! And now I can't wait to read Stef's story next!

Snowbound Scandal by Jessica Lemmon is the second book in the Dallas Billionaires Club series. It is also a second chance love story. Lemmon manages to bring us an entire story about a couple who was meant to be but circumstances and irrational thinking tore them apart. As we watch Chase and Miram rebuild something absolutely amazing you see the emotional roller coaster ride Miram must endure.

Great short story about two people loving each other to the point of thinking they know what’s best for each other. Communication was needed more for Chase and Mimi. I’m glad it worked out in the end like all good romance books do. A few miss spelled word. If you have a few hours you’ll enjoy this read.
