Who knew sweet potato pie and snow storm could bring you and the one that got away 10 years ago back together!

A Snowbound Scandal, Chase and Mimi's romance, is a quick read that is filled with steamy fun. I liked the characters and enjoyed the story line.

When you pick up a Harlequin Romance you have a few guarantees — something sweet and something that builds. A Snowbound Scandal is one of those books that delivers both. Miriam “Mimi” Andrix and Chase Ferguson are perfect paramours in this love story. They’re perfectly matched in wit and banter. The build for their romance is slow and sweet, like the heat of a fire in the middle of an icy winter. Lemmon plays with one of my favorite romance tropes – trapped proximity. Because the two are trapped together to “weather the storm” they have to interact and when they do, the love they thought as lost begins to rekindle right along with the fire Chase’s city slicker self almost smothers.
Because both of them are stubborn and can’t say what they really mean, it takes the better half of the book to get more than a steamy kiss out of them, but once they do that, the book’s slow build picks up a rapid pace. They only have until the snow melts, after all. I really liked how the author used the setting to both introduce the characters’ pasts and reignite the spark between them.
Overall, this book was a quick and engaging summer read.

A good story but I felt like I had read this book before. Okay, the setting is different but even the long driveway was in the other book. I had found an old book a few weeks ago and it sure feels like this is the same story. If this is a rewrite I missed it in the details.
This book is a good escape read and the house sounds wonderful. The drama of the romance is interesting. Thanks for letting me read the book.

A Snowbound Scandal
Chase and Mimi are wonderful characters and make this second chance love story an enjoyable read. Chase’s billionaire status doesn’t go to his head as he serves the role of Mayor of Dallas. If anything, he views his luck at being born rich as a way to avoid all the lobbyists and bribery that goes on in politics. Of course, it can’t prevent him from being subjected to unscrupulous bloggers and journalists an political opponents looking for dirt and a way to defeat him when the next election rolls around. He knew Mimi before he became mayor, but knowing that he had political aspirations he had let her go rather than subjecting her to the political machinations of his chosen career. Mimi, of course, is not a billionaire, just a hard working environmentalist. There is natural conflict to overcome – he’s in the oil business and she’s protesting the damage done by big oil. Their diverse backgrounds don’t bother either of them individually, but Chase is very aware that pulling Mimi into his way of life could damage her own career. When a blizzard forces them together after ten years, their love (and stubbornness) are as strong as ever. Of course, there’s a political rival who’s out to dish the dirt (even though there really isn’t anything to find.) True love has a way of overcoming all obstacles and it’s an interesting read to see how the author helps Chase and Mimi find their HEA.

The story of the Ferguson siblings continue in this book. Chase is the mayor of Dallas and 1/3 owner in the family oil company. Ten years earlier, he had walked away from Mimi because she was against all his family was and he didn't want her to give up her beliefs for him. Turns out, his getaway home in Montana has special meaning for the two of them. He contacts her when his opponent in his upcoming reelection threatens to use her in negative publicity.
Mimi wants to settle things with Chase once and for all, but ends up stranded with him in his house during a snowstorm. They discover their chemistry is still there, but can they find happiness despite their differences?
I enjoyed this book and it does standalone even as part of a series. I am looking forward to Stef's book as that was set up in this one as well.
Thanks to the publisher for a review copy via NetGalley.

I loved this book! I have read many books by Jessica Lemmon and this is one of my favorites. This is one of those books that has you just feeling the entire time you are reading it. You are rooting for Chase and Mimi and their HEA. This is a wonderful second chance romance and I highly recommend it.

Ten years ago when they were in their 20's, Chase Ferguson had brief relationship with Mimi Andrix. However, oil industry was Chase's family's industry while Mimi was passionate about protesting against it. So Chase broke it up. Now, as Chase is up for re-election as Mayor of Dallas he found himself being snowbound with his old-flame, Mimi, when he visited his mansion in Montana, and Mimi came by his front door bringing him dinner.
I thought it was a nice forced proximity as well as second chance story. Because they were snowbound, Chase and Mimi spent a lot of times just the two of them together, and rekindling their passion. Of course real life is still waiting for Chase, he still wants his career in politics after all, while Mimi is working for conservation society. So they have to find a way to work it out. There's a cute "<i>Notting Hill</i>" moment in the end for the two of them.

Outside my comfort zone. Sweet love story that resembles a Lifetime movie. First book of this genre that I’ve ever read and I’m not entirely sure if it’s for me.

This book was just OK for me. I didn’t like the first 50% of the book. Chase came across as a cold fish. I really struggled to like him. He flat out says I don’t live in the past nor do I dwell on it. He broke up with Mimi 10 years ago to protect her from being in the public eye when he didn’t think she could have handled it. Now a decade has passed and his mayoral running mate is using Chase’s past against him and he and Mimi are back in each other’s lives. Mimi has a kind heart and loves to look out for everything. It was like whiplash, one minute Chase thinks it’s best they broke up then he changes his mind and is pursuing an intimate relationship again. Towards the end Chase grew on me and the ending was super cute with the press conference.

When Chase returns to Montana for a Thanksgiving vacation, it leads to a rekindling of his romance with Miriam. This is a good steamy romance. I was given a free copy of this book from the publisher through Net Gallery. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. This is well written romance. Though this is steamy than I usually read, I enjoyed the romance. I liked how the Chase and Miriam struggled to stay honest in expressing themselves. I liked this book and would read another by this author.

I've broken a couple of fingers and having trouble typing, so please forgive typos but loved it!! Jessica Lemmon is my go to author when I want a good book- one that isn't over the top with too much heavy romance, or deep reading but still provides a great balance of quality writing. I've said it before, but no one can pull you in and create a visual for each character and seen like her books do- the descriptions add to the story but don't take over. Everything just blends so well- I always feel like I know the characters and this book was no exception.
I love Mimi's strength and determination..Chase may have won her over but she wasn't silent about the past and everything wasn't just forgotten because they still had chemistry.
If you need a go to author, and just a good read- you can't go wrong with this!

Second chance stories are my favorite so when I came across this one,I had to pick it up immediately.
This was a nice read on a rainy day, but I wish that all these second-chance romances would not always be a period of more then 10 year absence! I say this again & again because it is tiresome to read and for a change, I would love for an author to write one with only months or less then 2-3 separation where the couple stay true to on another. What is wrong with that?

Great second chance at love story of Chase and Mimi, opposites, who have never forgotten each other even though it's been ten years since their love affair. Can they overcome their differences this time? Sweet love story with lots of heat!
