Samantha is a nurse who has relocated to Bondi Bay hospital. She's looking to be apart of the Specialist Disaster Response team and she's having a rough first day. It's something that Dr.Blake Cooper has noticed but its also that her her model like looks that has made her attractive to him. Dr. Blake Cooper is apart of that Disaster Response team and he doesn't think Samantha has what it takes but she'll try to prove him wrong.

This was a pretty good book. I would've preferred for it to be longer but for the amount of pages there was this was a pretty good good, packed enough to keep things interesting. This is a good book if you are pressed for time. Actually even good for a summer beach read you can finish this book withing maybe 2 or 3 hours. So I thought that this book was interesting. I liked the character and getting to know them. I loved that attraction that was simmering between the two. I loved seeing Samantha trying to prove herself, she wasn't going to let Dr. Blake bring her down when he believed that she wouldn't be able to be apart of the team. She really did work on proving herself and didn't just take his word for it. Overall it was a pretty good book I enjoyed it.

I do love a good medical romance, so when The Shy Nurse's Rebel Doc, came up on Netgalley I didn't think twice before downloading. I was particularly interested as it is also the first book in a new series about medical personnel who go into disaster zones to look for injured people which sounded like my kind of thing.

Alison Roberts has written a cute enough romance in The Shy Nurse's Rebel Doc. Her writing and worldbuilding were good. The book was easy to get into and easy to read. The storyline was interesting enough, but it was the characters and the romance that let it down in the end.

I quite liked Samantha. She was strong-minded, intelligent and despite her fears, unafraid to go after what she wanted. Unfortunately, Blake turned out to be a bit of a prat. He had all this long hair and wore cowboy boots which are fine if you are a rancher in Texas or something but a turn off in metropolitan Australia. I also found Blake to be arrogant and judgemental. I couldn't count the number of times he unfairly and negatively judged Samantha. She had her nails painted? He judged her for being too girly. She has a sports car? Well, that must mean she's a spoilt princess. She freaks out when there is a rockfall as she is climbing? She is incapable, I hate her. He is just not very nice. If I came across Blake, there is no way I would want to date him.

I didn't really connect with the romance either. I felt no chemistry between Sam and Blake and I didn't really care about their relationship at all. The fade to black didn't help. In the end, I just couldn't get on with this book.

ER nurse Samantha Braithwaite is determined to show Dr Blake Cooper that she is a good fit for the Special Disaster Response team. A real nice story with a determined & strong heroine and a sweet HEA..
