Review by Estella for Love Romance Books Blog

This was a sweet and good read. It is well written. I would have loved a little more drama but it was still a good book!

A fun read that reads well. There are hints of a previous book that might've contributed to understanding the heroine's background a bit. But the book reads without it just as easily.

The characters are as vibrant as you'd expect for a Harlequin novel. She's sassy, strong, and yet sorta a damsel in distress. He's strong, confident, rich but kinda cocky.

From the start of him noticing her at the airport remembering her pouring a drink on him and her remembering why she did so to the final pages as.... ( haha I'm not telling how it ends) I was hooked and enjoyed the story.

I really had trouble getting into the book initially and getting caught up in the emotions of the characters. The storyline was good, but it just didn’t stand out in my mind amongst other books in the genre. The blurb was great, but overall the book just fell flat for me.

There's a reason I pick up every Sharon Kendrick book when it comes out. Stories like this one are a case in point.

The Greek's Bought Bride brings together two people who have no use for a committed marriage, but an unsuitable marriage is exactly what Xan Constantinides needs to get out of the marriage his father arranged for him years earlier. Tamsyn Wilson may be broke and once again jobless, but she is unimpressed by the wealth Xan throws around like confetti. When she discovers that she's not as cold toward all men as she thought, she also discovers that Xan seems to be the only man she reacts to. Losing her virginity to him was easy. Losing her heart? Not so much. Can these two closed-off people open themselves up to the possibility that love even exists?

If you enjoy Harlequin Presents, don't miss this one!

The Greek's Bought Bride by Sharon Kendrick is the story of Tamsyn Wilson and Xan Constantinides.
Xan and Tamsyn shared one night together. Tamsyn left the next morning but now weeks later Xan is at her door wanting her to be in a pretend marriage with him and is offering money for this to happen. Money that Tamsyn needs for her family..so she doesn't have much choice but to do so. But how long does pretend go on before it is real.
Loved reading their story...I am a big fan of Harlequin books!

Going from being in alert at the beginning to little by little seeing that this book can show that everything isn't as it seems and love can start off as trials and tests.

This book was a good read with well developed characters and a good plot!

Tamsyn gets a lot of sympathy from me because she seems to be one step away from disaster on the job front all the time. Yet one has to admire her gumption when she dumps a drink on the playboy indulging in a very public break up in the bar where she works.

Imagine running into the same play boy next on a flight full of who's who jetting to a desert prince's wedding. Xan should be ashamed of judging a book by its cover but clearly in his mind once a waitress always a waitress. Unfortunately for him she's the sister of the bride and a guest at the wedding. When he finds her decked out in all the finery provided by her sister he can't resist temptation and they both quickly get horizontal.

I really can't believe how these sophisticated men of the world can't seem to be able to help getting these virginal young women pregnant but alas that is what happens. Xan of course wants to leverage Tamsyn to help him get out of a wedding that his parents have arranged in a nice way. He really did not impress me as hero material or even remotely likeable but...…….

Alas! this story is not one of my favorite escapes.

The Greek's Bought Bride is by far my favorite from Sharon Kendrick! From the very beginning Kendrick exceptionally portrayed Xan's desire for Tamsyn. Intesnse moments of passion and sexual tension throughout the story. Tamsyn is smart and witty, a hard worker, even though she is misunderstood. I wasn't happy with how Tamsyn ran from her husband and didn't at least explain herself. Xan is a smoldering hot Greek! His only fault was the way he answered some of Tamsyn's concerns. He felt very cold at times, it seemed as if his only concern was bedding her. The story suffered from being a bit rushed towards the end. Overall this would be a good weekend read.

Tamsyn is a girl who just can't keep a job and has so much baggage that it's not funny. She doesn't seem to let anyone in other than her sister but all that changes after one night of passion with Greek billionaire Xan. He ends up buying her as his bride so he can buy back the land that belonged to his ancestors and not marry the lady he was promised to year ago. She gets lots of money out of it. Win-win for everyone right? Nope! Or is it....

This was such a sweet little novel, I really liked Xan and Tamsyn, I thought they were cute once they started to finally open up to each other. They both have some serious issues that I hope they work on but no one is perfect. All in all, if you're looking for a quick, hot read; this one is for you!

Will go live on my blog; 7/15/2018

This book is the kind of story I usually for for and it started off well enough but somewhere it just went flat. Xan is Greek, handsome and rich. He needs a wife so why not get Tamsyn to help him, after all she's single, beautiful and he can't seem to get her out of his system. I like that they both had terrible childhood but there was just something flat about this story. I kept putting it down, it took me forever to finish and when I like a book I'm done in one day. There was no conflict or at least very little of it, I did finish it so because of that I'm giving it three stars.

Normally I'm a fan of anything by Sharon Kendrick but nothing about the plot or characters were likable. This did not read like a romance book at all.

Sharon Kendrick is usually one of my Harlequin Romance "must read authors" but unfortunately this book didn't do it for me. Everything from the first meeting of the main characters to the convoluted wacky story line was off.

I loved this book!!! Both main characters were likable-usually the male is so alpha and treats the heroine like dirt. But this guy-he really wanted to do the right thing. The last few from Sharon Kendrick were hit or miss-but she knocked this one right out of the ball park!!!

Xan Constantinides needs a temporary bride who is different enough from his usual partners to both convince his family and friends that he has fallen hard enough to break his arranged engagement, as well as justify the mere three-month union he has planned. Tamsyn Wilson fits the bill – sassy, out-spoken, determined, and independent… and wanting the payment Xan offers for his terms, although not for the reasons he thinks. Of course, this plot is a flimsy excuse to get these two together, but that doesn’t matter because the writing is good, the attraction is convincing, and the sex scenes are hot. Overall, this makes for a very good modern romance. – Megan Osmond

This is Tamsyn and Xan’s story. She was a poor waitress and he was a Greek billionaire. At her sisters wedding they have a 1 night stand. He finds her and offers her a marriage of convenience. She is very defensive and he is very cynical. It was another great read from Sharon Kendrick.

Xan is often times surprised by his woman, ‘you suppose so?’ he echoed, stepping forward to tilt her chin upwards with his finger. ‘I don’t think I’ve ever been da*ned with so much faint praise.’ There are times Xan speaks before he thinks, ‘Tamsyn, you could wear sackcloth and I’d still want to rip it from your body. I’m just not sure what has prompted this sudden transformation.’ I liked this book, I grew to like Xan.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Tamsyn, the heroine meets the hero Xan while she's serving him drink and overhears him breaking up with his girlfriend and "accidentally" spills a drink on him. She found him to be arrogant as well as attractive.

Months later at an airport ready to board a private plane with a group of people headed to a wedding, Xan spots the waitress who spilled a drink on him "accidentally". Not a woman he forgot easily and he found her to be very attractive and sexy.

As they are boarding he starts a conversation and brings up the incident. He believes she's hired help for the wedding (his friend is marrying). But in reality Tamsyn is the sister to the bride but let's Xan think otherwise.

The two have a brief fling at the wedding. Xan leaves the next morning. Tamsyn, goes back to waitressing and working a second job. Months later Xan shows up as he's been unable to forget her. Offers her a large amount of money to marry him briefly so he doesn't have to marry the woman he's had an unspoken arrangement with (his family and her's agreed to this marriage decades ago).

Tamsyn agrees, just incase her sisters marriage doesn't work so they'll have a finical cushion (her sister is pregnant). Tamsyn and Xan relationship evolves and has a quick resolution in the end.

Well I found both these character unlikeable!! I couldn't connect with the heroine at all. She came across cold and unlikeable. Xan was shallow and had no depth or growth. The opening and premise of their meeting was silly. Xan's reasoning for the marriage didn't cut it and what he was doing to the young woman he was ditching was cold. Tamsyn needed money as a cushion for her sister, that to me was another silly reasoning and didn't really work for me. The romance was non existent and I found the premise of their relationship to be about the sex. A disappointing read!!!
