Naomi is back in town to visit her friend and mother and to photograph the rodeo that was a part of her life for years. She moved to D.C. years ago for college and just stayed. While at the rodeo to see her friend they are attacked out of the blue and Brice Harper comes to the rescue. This story heats up quickly and maintains a fast paced throughout. This story really sucked me in. If i could have read it through in one sitting i would have. Naomi's best friend Whitney is a rodeo queen and what should be a fun reunion for the friends turns scary when they are attacked. As the story moves forward more and more is revealed and what's going on with Whitney is much bigger than anyone thought. The only problem i had with the story is how fast it wound up at the end. I expected more of a ending to the bad guys than i got. In spite of that I'm looking forward to more in this series.

Yet another great book by Donna Grant. I loved it so much that I have to go back and read the other books in this series.

After reading the first book in this series, I was expecting it to follow someone else in the small town/ranch area, but instead, it jumped ahead and told Brice Harper's story. That was actually a welcome surprise, as the book also gave us updates on Clayton and Abby from the previous book!

Once again, the author mixed in a suspense angle, but this one was even better than the first one, because of the realism aspect. The things the author described were actually things that I could see happening in reality, so that definitely enhanced my enjoyment of the story.

Brice follows Clayton's footsteps a good bit, and I loved seeing how he had grown into his own man! Naomi was a good heroine for him, but I didn't like how her reasons for leaving/staying away in college weren't really explained well. It didn't detract from the story much, as it was a minor annoyance at best.

I can't wait to see what happens with them in the third book of the series!

I have to say Donna Grant takes us on a wild ride everytime she creates a new series and the Heart of Texas is like that wild. We have Brice Harper, rodeo star and knows how to treat his woman seeing himself right now at a crossroads in his life. Then we have Naomi Pierce seeing that no matter where she goes Texas will always call her back. Together these two are trying to stay alive and seeing how right they are for each other. The love that Donna Grant shows in them is new and yet scary of what it means right now. Loved seeing Abby, Clayton and Harper because among the threat of someone wanting to kill Naomi there is still family always there to back you up. Cannot wait for Caleb's story and what Donna Grant will do.

I got way into my head on this one. It didnt bother me til someone pointed it out either. The fact that this was Abby’s little brother was what was pointed out. After that all I thought about was the young kid who looked up to Clayton so much. Beyond that thinking though it wasnt terrible. This is an insta love story to focus on the matter at hand, the fact that Whitney, Naomis friend was being targetted. Once that came into play Brice’s family became involved and was as protective as they could be.

This is definitely a romantic suspsense read and can be read as a stand alone but it is always best to read from the beggining in my opinion

This is the first book I have read by Donna Grant and definitely won't be the last. I love to read about some hot Cowboys. This book is absolutely fantastic. Reading Brice and Naomi story lef me tell you I was a blubbering mess. Naomi stops at nothing to help her best friend Whitney after Brice rescued them from an attacker. This book is heartfelt and heartwarming. I highly recommend this book. Thank you Netgalley.

Naomi returns to her hometown to hang out with her rodeo queen friend and take photographs of and managed to stumble upon a dark secret her friend is hiding. While taking photographs she finds out that her friend has a stalker and that person is willing to do everything to keep his identity a secret. Brice is in the rodeo seems to have fallen hard for Naomi and is willing to help her and her friend out with whatever cost nessesary.

I don't think I read the description of this book I just knew that there was cowboys and that was all I really needed to know. I didn't realized it was going to be a romantic mystery suspense novel because I would've picked this book a whole lot sooner. This book sounded perfect for me and after reading it I can really tell you that I loved it. I loved the characters and getting to know them. I loved how loyal Naomi was as a friend and how supportive her was and how she would do anything she can, and was just in general selfless because she could've dropped this whole situation and take her friend as it was. I thought it was interesting how everything played out as things progressed and secrets were being exposed and how everything in the end was taken down. This was such a great book and I really enjoyed reading it.

I usually really like this author, so I am not really sure what happened with this title....but I just couldn't get into it. I was not grabbed by the characters, or the story, and I wasn't engaged at all.

I have chosen not to finish this title and look forward to the next by this author.

When Naomi comes home to support her friend things tart happening. In order to figure out who is behind the trouble she stays close to Brice. Being close to Brice brings other feelings into play.

An exciting read that I didn't want to put down with unforgettable characters, suspense, action, intrigue and so much more centering around cowboys and the rodeo. I really liked the instant attraction and sizzling chemistry between photographer Naomi Pierce who returns to her Texas hometown and swoon-worthy cowboy/rancher Brice Harper.

Cowboy, Cross My Heart is for anyone who enjoys well-crafted suspenseful romance but it's not for the faint of heart. This is the first book I have read by Donna Grant and I look forward to reading more from this talented author. I received an advance reader copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and this is my honest review.

Oh my..., I really loved this book!
When we first met Brice Harper and his family, I fell in love with them. Now they are back - and this trip might be even more gripping and captivating and all in all amazing than the last one!
It started with a mugging...but it didn't stop there. And when Brice, Naomie and their friends start to dig, things get worse, much worse before they finally start getting better. Well, not for all of those involved things will get better...

Right from the first page on, I couldn't put the book down. it kept me glued to my reader, and I enjoyed every single page of it! I felt with our hero and our heroine and their friends, I loved how they rallied to protect their own and I really loved to see Brice fall in love. The young man has grown "a bit" and I loved to see him interact with his brother and Abby and...oh, I enjoyed learning more about Abby and Clayton and their life now.

A great sequel and I can't wait for the next book to come out!

Cowboy, Cross My Heart by Donna Grant is a standalone romance novel, set in the world of Rodeo, Cowboys and Pageants.

Cowboy, Cross My Heart tells Naomi and Brice´s story.
One is a photographer and former beauty pageant. The other one a rodeo rider in the circuit.
Both are thrown together by fate and karma and have to overcome a lot of obstacles and issues ´til their hard earned and well deserved HEA.
The writing is great and the characters are easy to connect with.

I liked Cowboy, Cross My Heart and give 4 stars.

It is highly possible that I just don't understand rodeo culture, but the sexual abuse scandal perpetrated by government officials and the "rodeo mom" chaperone ladies seems a little bit far-fetched. I usually really like Donna Grant's work, but this one was totally meh.

Naomi is back in Texas to visit both her mom and her best friend Rodeo Queen Whitney. Naomi feels that something is off with Whitney but when they are attacked she knows that there is something her friend isn’t telling her.

Brice is competing in the rodeo and when he comes across two women being attacked he comes to their rescue. When he realizes that Naomi was the beautiful woman he had been admiring from afar all day he was glad to meet her however he wished it was under different circumstances.

Naomi is not about to let the attack go without finding some answers and since she is not getting them from Whitney she and Brice start working together to uncover the truth. As they spend time together they become close which causes them to examine what direction they want their lives to take and with who.

I like how protective that Brice was and how Naomi was willing to do anything to help her friend. Full of drama, suspense and great secondary characters I enjoyed this story. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Donna Grant, author, in writing Cowboy, Cross My Heart gives the reader a unique look into what goes on behind the scenes of a beauty pageant. The reader is introduced to Naomi and Whitney, who along with another Suellen (now deceased) were rodeo barrel racers as young girls. Naomi s visiting home and attending a rodeo in which Whitney is competing. Whitney is also competing in a Rodeo Queen pageant. There are also Brice and his brother, Caleb who are also competing at the rodeo. Brice and Naomi become involved in a series of attacks on Naomi. The situation becomes more involved when it becomes known to them that Whitney is the catalyst. The storyline interestingly along through the twist and turns of what has happened, who is behind it and how it is solved. The story definitely fits in with what is going on in today's world.

I love going in blind to books, I love it when the book has me captivated and wanting to see what all happens right up to the end. Naomi is back in Texas to see her best friend compete in the local rodeo, while she walks around she feels a sense that she needs to be back home. As Naomi reflects on all the things she misses she knows something is off with her best friend Whitney. That feeling is right, things are not right in the town she left so many years ago. Naomi is attached while taking pictures and is saved by Brice Harper. This is when all things turn intense for all involved. Who wants to hurt the rodeo queen, the photographer and hot cowboy?

As Brice and Naomi try to find the truth behind the attack more things start to happen. I love how this book kept you guessing who is doing all these things and then to meet all of the family friends out at the East Ranch. Now I need more of these men at the East ranch. I really enjoyed the compassion that Brice has for Naomi and in turn how Naomi can sense the needs for Brice. It was like these two are truly meant for each other. The passion these two show for each other is not just seen by others, but by everyone.

I can’t wait to read more in this series from this new to me author.

COWBOY, CROSS MY HEART is the Second instalment in Donna Grant’s contemporary, adult HEART OF TEXAS romantic, suspense series. This is rancher and rodeo roper Brice Harper, photographer Naomi Pierce’s story line. COWBOY, CROSS MY HEART can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. COWBOY, CROSS MY HEART fast forwards the series several years.

Told from several third person perspectives including Brice and Naomi COWBOY, CROSS MY HEART follows the building relationship between rancher and rodeo roper Brice Harper, feisty photographer Naomi Pierce. Naomi Pierce’s return to Baxter County finds our heroine longing for days past when she, herself, was the champion roper. Naomi is only in town for a few days to support her best friend and pageant queen Whitney Nolan until Naomi is attacked by an unknown assailant. Enter Brice Harper, and the man with whom Naomi will fall in love. What ensues is the building romance and love between Naomi and Brice, and the fall-out as Naomi, and thusly the Harper family is targeted when Naomi gets too close to the truth.

Naomi Pierce’s love for photography has captured the attention of the wrong people in Baxter County. Knowing her best friend Whitney is hiding some important pieces of information, Naomi will find herself the target of a powerful group of men forcing Naomi into hiding with the man that she loves. Brice Harper had no idea the woman he rescued would be the woman that called to his heart. A series of on-going attacks against his family and friends finds the Harper-East clan waging a war of their own.

The relationship between Naomi and Brice is one of immediate and mutual attraction. Confined together to ensure Naomi’s safety, our couple begin a slow dance of seduction leading towards a happily ever after. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate and seductive.

The colorful, strong and charismatic secondary and supporting characters include Naomi’s best friend Whitney Nolan, and Whitney’s chaperone Ms. Biermann; Clayton and Abby (The Christmas cowboy Hero #1), Brice and Abby’s brother Caleb; Brice’s friends Jace Wilder, and Cooper Owens; ranch manager Shane, and local sheriff Danny Oldman. The requisite evil has many faces.

COWBOY, CROSS MY HEART is a story of romance and suspense; betrayal and power; family and friends. The character driven premise is inviting and imaginative; the characters are spirited and sassy; the romance is intimate and heart warming. COWBOY, CROSS MY HEART is a dramatic tale of mistrust and corrupted power.

Heart of Texas #2, In the first book, The Christmas Cowboy Hero, we met Abby Harper and her two teenage brothers, Brice and Caleb. Some years have past and now the brothers are all grown up each served in the military and are now working the rodeo and at the East Ranch. This can be read as a stand alone, but the first book is so good I recommend reading it. Naomi Pierce use to ride the rodeo she was so good no one has beat her high score in barrel racing but after the death of a very good friend Naomi left the rodeo and Texas all together and became a photographer. She back now to visit her mother and her best friend Whitney who is the Queen of the Rodeo this year.

Things start to go bad when someone attacks Whitney and Naomi and try to steal Naomi's camera, luckily Brice wasn't to far away and helps them out. Brice noticed Naomi when she was in the stands and she noticed him back an instant attraction. When Naomi asked Whitney about the attack Whitney clammed up, told Naomi to drop it which just made Naomi even more suspicious. The next day after Naomi developed some of the pictures she was taking right before the attack she gave some copies to Brice to see if he could help her identify the guy, Brice is wacked upside the head and had his hand smashed and the picture stolen and at the same time someone pushes Naomi in the arena and is almost killed by the wagon race. Still Whitney says nothing. With the help of Caleb, Abby, Clay, and their friends Jace, Cooper, and the Sheriff they are able to make an educated guess about what has been happening but who is involved and how deep does the corruption goes is still a mystery. It isn't until a guilt trip from Naomi does Whitney finally tell her what exactly has been going on and for how long. They press on further with their investigation making the guys behind it all very nervous.

Brice and Naomi don't have a normal courtship but the feelings are there and it's too strong for either of them to deny. Even with all this going on they still manage time to fall in love. It was a fairly easy romance with a few bumps and complications but the main focus of the story was what was happening within the rodeo pageant. Overall, I loved the story and the characters, I inhaled this book. Donna Grant is a fantastic writer I can't wait for the rest of the series.
