Wes Meier came home in the last installment, but this installment is all about him and his past that he can't forget. When Olivia Blake comes along to be asked to do a commission and wants to explore where her dead brother visited when he wasn't on duty. What happens when Wes meets Olivia and gets too close? What happens when Wes finds out what Olivia is commissioning and will he be able to walk away from her?

All will be revealed in the second installment of the Meier Ranch Brothers series.

Well this is hard for me. There have been less than a handful of books that I have not completed. Unfortunately this is one of them. I struggled here to read even a page. The author would go back in time and there really wasn't any formatting or anything to let the reader know so I was lost a few times. Other times, I just couldn't figure out what the author was really trying to say.

I will go back at a later date and try to finish this one up. I hate to leave characters and a story hanging but I struggled to read this over 4 days and that is way too long for a story especially as this isn't a novel of considerable length.

Sharing a Barn, Looking for Answers

Livie is a high-brow artists to Wes' emotionally banged-up, ex-military, landowner. They do the "opposites attract" thing well enough, with an unexpected twist that freshens a perfectly good love story, up a bit. The town continues to center the action, providing excellent secondary characters and reinforcing the community and connections in this series.

This is book two in the Meier Ranch Brothers series and is the story of Wes and Olive. This story was an emotional one filled with heartbreak, loss, moving on and hope along with a HEA and I was hooked. I can’t wait for more!!

This was a good read. The characters were strong and the setting was well described. The story line kept you entertained throughout the entire book. Looking forward to reading more by this author

A bit difficult for me to get into. I didn't quite care for either of the main characters but I do like the way Leslie North writes.

Though all three brothers received their own story, they are intertwined to such an extent that their stories are one in the same...Love for the land and family. Ms North has created brothers who capture you heart, along with the love of their lives. I feel in order to receive the true meaning of the Meier family and where they came from generations back and what the future holds for the brothers, all three books should be read in order...though they could be read as a stand-alone, the stories have more impact if read in order.

This was a really good book. I enjoyed the characters a lot. They weren't overly cliched or annoying. I would read more books from this author in the future.

This is the first Leslie North story that I'll have to rate with a less than three star rating. While I loved the tattoo guys, really appreciated the Sheihk and couldn't get enough of the cowboys, this one really didn't do it for me. Wes Meier may be a rancher, but in his heart and mind he is still a military guy. With a lot of PTSD issues. Livie is an artist, who wants to create a wonderful peace of memorial for her deceased brother.

The whole story was rather depressing, with an undercurrent of mutual attraction between Livie and Wes. However, Wes' background makes him emotionally unavailable for any kind of romance. And Livie keeps trying to engage with Wes about her brother and his war memories.

In my opinion the story dragged on and on and I caught myself reading other books in between. Mostly a sign, the book isn't able to keep my attention. So, I'm sorry, but this is a first two star rating for Leslie from me. With a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

This is the second book in the series and is Wes and Livie's story. I really liked this book and my heart just went out to Wes at times he is home after serving in the military and is grieving and feeling guilty after the loss of his friend Daniel and all he wants is to be left alone. Livie is the sister of his dead friend she is also an artist had has been hired to sculpt a new statue in the town center this was a good read and I really enjoyed it. Can't wait to read more

I enjoyed this story. I liked the change with an artist & a war hero. I enjoyed the townsfolk in Close Call. Looking forward to the third book.

Loved this book (and not just because Wes had the same last name as me.) A book about loss and tragedy and being able to find yourself again. The book was slow at the beginning but about 30% thru it really started to get good. I felt like the characters were very real and like I actually knew them.

Wes Meier has come home to heal and settle back into civilian life when Olive crosses his path. These two have common ties but must find common ground for their hearts. Good second book in the Meier Ranch series. Looking forward to the last brother.

I rated the book with three stars due to its repetitiveness and easily deducted "mystery" plots. The main female character, Shadow, was aggravating, in her circular thinking about her brother's death and her unresolved feelings for the male lead, Grey. The root of the story made no sense. SPOILER ALERT AHEAD: Okay, Shadow's brother showed up, with a gun, at the Wilson Ranch. He was shot and died. Now, how was that Grey's fault? And the cattle theft? The culprits were exactly who I suspected all along.

Shadow's parents were completely unlikable people. Her father was a lazy, good-for-nothing thief. Her mother was a dependent wife. Both turned their backs on Shadow when she needed them the most.

I plan to read the other books in the series, as I already have one on my Kindle.

I struggled getting into this book and eventually just gave up. I couldn't connect with either character and was confused trying to figure out who was who from the first chapter. There was nothing to grab and hold my interest.

This is an intense story about two wounded and tortured souls. Wes is a serious, stubborn and sensitive man who is suffering from the guilt that he carries for the death of his friend and brother in arms. Olive is a unique and introvert artist who has issues with the world, preferring to keep to her own. She is commissioned to create a sculpture for the town her deceased brother fell in love with. She ends up at Wes's family's ranch to do it. While she's there she tries to get Wes to open up about what exactly happened, while he tries to shut it and her out. Wes can be sweet and caring when his guard is down, unfortunately that never last long. Daniel, her brother, his friend, is always there between them. It's not a story that is full of action, but it's a captivating storyline.

Wes and Olive's story had so many different facets to it. Wes was hot and cold much of the time to Olive, but his feelings over her brother's death and being his commanding officer, conflict and get in the way of any happiness he might find with her. He runs hot and cold, but Olive continues to honor her brother and the town he told her so much about, as she works to finish her sculpture for the town. Their story is emotional as Wes still deals with his grief of Daniel, the one person in both of their lives. He is at odds with himself much of the time, as he tries to come to terms with Daniel's death while falling for Olive. The payoff for the reader is the beautiful HEA for Wes and Olive as they fall in love and heal each other. I would like to thank NetGalley and Relay Pub. for gifting me "Redeeming the Rancher". My opinion is my own. This is mine. 4.5 Stars!

This was much better than book 1.. this guy has all it takes to make you swoon. Loved the heroine - even when she doubted herself. she comes off as very human - unsure and doubtful but willing none the less
