This was another smash hit from the author. The book was filled with a lot of fun mystery and suspense, keeping the reader page turning to see what happens next. Plus a number of surprises along the way to the end. This is a book that I would recommend to all who enjoy surprises.

I do not feel I can really review this book, as I had a hard time getting into it. Because of that, I will not review this book anywhere other than here, and will not be saying anything negative about it.

I so badly wanted to enjoy Tell Me A Secret as much as I did with previous books by this author, but for me there was just something missing and I felt uneasy reading this book, which is maybe exactly how the reader was supposed to feel.
I found Lorna such an unlikeable character and maybe that was the problem for me.
While I did not rate this book as highly as previous books, I still look forward to more brilliant writing from Samantha Hayes.

*Thanks to NetGalley and bookouture for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.* I really thought I would love this book. Domestic thrillers are one of my favourite types of books; I love the twists and turns and relatable characters. I loved Hayes' previous book, 'Until You're Mine.' I did not love this book. I struggled to relate to the protagonist, Lorna, as she made one stupid decision after another. It is hard to relate to a main character who seems so hell-bent on destroying her own life. I did enjoy some of the twists later in the book, but not enough to bump my rating up to 4 stars. I found the book's habit of jumping around in time and perspective a little confusing. Not a terrible book, by any stretch, but I had high hope that were not met.

You will never see it coming!

I admit, at around half way I was going to give up on this one. So glad I didn't! You may feel like nothing is happening, but just wait and see!

A complicated tale of love, betrayal and professional ethics. Buckle up.

This is full of twists and turns and will keep you guessing.

Laura has been married to Mark for years and they have a daughter Freya. Mark's son Jack, much older, also lives with them. She works as a therapist, a job she enjoys, in a practice she joined 10 months earlier.

Going against her own judgment, an urgent call from a new patient catches her attention and she rings him direct to arrange an appointment. She is given a false name and the person is some-one she knows, but would rather not see. Andrew. By then it is too late as he is not agreeing to see another therapist, so he cannot be referred. There is always the danger that her secret will be out and she cannot risk it.

The effect of meeting up with this man again puts everything she has, at risk. Reckless and out of her depth. She is keen to know everything about his life since they last met. Is he involved again with his Lodger? She sees his profile on a friend's dating app and so signs up anonymously to see what is going on. She cannot leave her phone out of her sight, waiting to see if he has viewed her profile.

When his body is found at his home, he has been murdered. Her fear is that her secret will be uncovered and all that she has worked for in her marriage and at work will be gone. Not forgetting her beloved daughter. I didn't like her as a character but did feel some empathy. The descriptions of the others members of the story were very realistic.

I chose to read this book and all opinions in this review are all my own and completely unbiased. My thanks to NetGalley for this opportunity.

Tell Me A Secret is the first book i have read from Samantha Hayes and wow what a book ! it is full of twists and turns and i couldn't put it down.Lorna has seemingly has the perfect life married to Mark a dentist, two children and a successful career as a councillor, but behind the scenes she is haunted by an event which occurred with Andrew an ex patient and who as now resurfaced in her life after a year.Towards the superb ending i had to keep rereading the odd page thinking did that really happen ?? if you enjoy psychological thrillers that take your breath away then this is the book for you ! A masterpiece of a thriller,5 stars without a doubt.

This was a solid 4 star thriller which kept me gripped and guessing until the end. Would have liked a little more resolution regarding Lornas issues from her childhood and the relationship between her and her mother but overall I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks to the author, Netgalley and Bookouture for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I had a hard time engaging with this story, it starts out kind of boring and I really did not like Lorna. Thankfully, the story picks up a few chapters in but I still did not like any of the characters. A few chapters later and I'm starting to really enjoy reading this book. The mysterious Nikki appears and, despite all odds, I actually like this character.
Then the story loses it, twists all over the place, things I did not see coming at all! I love twists and when a story takes a different direction, how exciting. But... can there be too many twists? There is such a thing as too much, so much that the story becomes unbelievable and this is what happens at the end of this book. It was all too much...
I did read it though, and although it was not my favourite, I did enjoy it somewhat so a two star rating, it was okay...

I have been a fan of Samantha Hayes for quite a long time and enjoyed all her books, but this book was her best ever. I was addicted from the first page and couldn’t put it down, sneaking off to read it at any opportunity! It’s a story of two women’s secrets, relationships, obsessions, revenge and many more that left me gasping at the end.
Lorna is a psychotherapist married to Mark. They have a daughter Freya, and Mark has a daughter Olivia, from the marriage to his first wife who died. Lorna has been having an affair with Andrew, a former patient, and has ended it but he turns up wanting to start again, Lorna reveals all her secrets to someone and the nightmare begins putting all her family in danger.
This must be one of my favourite books this year and one i will remember, this is definitely one of the best pshchological thrillers I have read and if I could give it 10 stars I would!
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

Lorna is a happily married woman. She has a gorgeous husband Mark, a step son and a daughter with Mark as well as a great career as a psychotherapist. A good lifestyle and plenty of friends.

But Lorna also has secrets including an ex lover who has come back into her life and unravelling everything.

How many secrets can you keep before it gets too much?

A fantastic read. I lost sleep having to finish this in the early hours of the morning. I love this author’s books and the publishing company, Bookoutre, always has amazing authors and books to offer.

This was one of the strangely different book, where the initial premise was mild and calming and then it goes on to become a forbidden love affair gone wrong, and the ending was a culmination of past and present.
Unexpected twists in the last 20% made it a choppy but unexpected ending. The mid part does drag on about the affair.
I am still undecided if I liked the book or not. I suppose I would call it a different read.

Wow, oh wow, where do I begin with this blinder of a book?! I loved everything about this book, the twists, the turns, the characters and the secrets.

Lorna is seemingly happily married to Mark, step-mum to Jack and has her own daughter Freya. Everything needs to be done to routine, it all seemed to be held together by string, one little upset and Lorna’s life would unravel. At first I struggled to like Lorna, something about her I didn’t like however the more of the book I read the more I got sucked in to her life. Lorna had been having an affair with a man called Andrew but she ended it several months ago. Now he’s back threatening everything in her life.

The majority of the book is written from Lorna’s perspective but we also get chapters by a character called Nikki. Who Nikki is gets revealed much later in the book but to get there it’s a wild ride so I hope you buckle up.

Samantha Hayes has written a belter of a book, I wondered which way the book was heading and then around the halfway mark everything seemed to pick up pace and twists and turns were coming at me from every direction. There’s red herrings to throw you off course and when those twists came, my oh my, what a shock. I gasped, re-read the pages and gave a little chuckle to myself. Well played, Samantha, well played.

If you’re a fan of twisty psychological thrillers with unreliable narrators and lots of secrets and lies to be revealed I highly recommend Tell Me A Secret. Samantha’s writing is brilliant, I was gripped from that shocking prologue to the incredible final chapter. Tell Me A Secret unnerved me, kept me on edge throughout and had me glancing over my shoulder several times. A brilliant book!

I love Samantha Hayes' writing and this one adds to the amazing collection of books. A shocking prequel leading into a slower paced introduction to an array of characters. A story told mainly by Lorna a therapist with a controlled, organised life and Nikki a stranger who you are not quite sure how she fits in. Lorna's life starts to fall apart personally and professionally as a man she had an affair with comes back into her life. As she starts to unravel the story throws you into some crazy twists and turns. A great read.
