When LynAnn decided to take a short escape for the weekend with her two young children, little did she know that she'd crash into the life of the one man she'd ask for help from 4 years ago and who had rejected her pleas. Jeff Kelley is a well known district attorney with a womanizing playboy reputation who has a young son of his own about LynAnn's son's age. When he meets the gorgeous widow who's staying at his vacation home for the weekend, he's instantly smitten. She's not reciprocating the feeling, though, and it gets under his skin. Luckily for him, he knows the man who let her stay at his home, so he has a way of finding the sweet nurse.

As LynAnn and Jeff start a relationship, suspense and mystery surrounds them, all tied into LynAnn's deceased husband's death. And when Jeff makes a huge blunder near the end, and accuses LynAnn of something horrible, I was hurting for her. She's such a lovely character - such a devoted, loving mom, and for Jeff to accuse her of something so out of the blue, I wanted to reach through my Kindle and punch him in the junk. Luckily for Jeff, LynAnn does have that huge heart, because she forgives him and they're free to obtain their HEA.

If you like your romances with mystery and suspense thrown in, and solid, well-drawn characters, put Opalescence on your TBR list today.

Strangest burglary ever.

Um, nice to meet you...?

I understand not bringing your kid into the house, but is outside alone better?

I wonder why she dislikes him?

These kids are great.

Ha, take that, Jeff.

I don't know the difference between cars either.

I would so quit that job.

Why wouldn't she report these incidents right away?

What is your problem, Stu?

If these two are her friends, who needs enemies.

Why was she ostracized and forced to leave town?

Crack police force they've got.

Todd. if you're alive, I'll kill you myself.

Talk about the walk of shame! Haha!

Jeff, you are so stupid.
