A terrific addition to the Monkeewrench series that will be just as good as a standalone. As always, the case is just complex enough to keep you guessing but not lost in the details. And the characters are boffo. Great read.

Gripping and suspenseful! A very well-written book with wonderfully-interesting characters. The tension builds at just the right pace as the story unfolds. Will keep you swiping the pages furiously. Worthy of your TBR list.

I love the Monkeewrench books. This one is great. The team from Monkeewrench works with the Minneapolis Police Department to solve crimes and the latest one is a terrorist attack. We have a lot of deaths or near deaths that are not suicide and some pretty high level folks that look guilty. Fast moving with a lot of twists and turns.

Catching up from my archive reads - I didn’t realize this was part of a series but still enjoyed it & would read more.

I wish I would've noticed this was a series, I wouldn't have bothered. It's not too intriguing to me that I was interested in picking up the others to make it a solid series read. Thank you for the early access though!

More Minnesota dead and the clear up doesn't get any less intriguing. Futher action from the extended Roadrunner crew.

3.5 stars

This is such an excellent series. This entry was edgy, supenseful, and tight. The technological aspects of the story seemed to stretch credulity at times but given how fast tech keeps evolving, your mileage may vary. Add in politics, murder, an impending baby, and strong characters, and the story was a good one. While I enjoyed it, I didn't love it. Somehow, it never completely clicked with me.

I was delighted to be given the opportunity to review this book especially as PJ Tracy never disappoints.

As always this was a gripping story. Gritty and dark but unveiling a little more about Grace and the rest of the team. I was so caught up in this book that I completed it in one day. So looking forward to the next adventure.

After being disappointed by one book by this author, I decided to give them one last try and I'm glad I did. Awelcome return to form.

Though this is book 9 in the series, but my first, I found it easy to follow along with the characters. Each character has their own quirks and very different personalities, but I found they complimented and blended well with each other.

Magozzi and Gino are called to what appears to be a suicide, but crime scenes can be deceiving. Meanwhile the Monkeywrench crew is developing a software to rout out terrorists. There’s something very sinister going on in Minnesota and things don’t always turn out exactly as planned.

This book was definitely worth the read.

This is already the ninth book in the series, and not having read much of the previous books, I will advise you to do so, even though the book reads nicely alone. I think I might have missed some references to previous events, but the book was still well written and worth your time and effort.

Surprise, I just hopped into this series. This is book #9, but it did stand alone. Monkeyshines is a software company. That made me laugh. It's in Minnesota, so I heard accents as I read the book. I found many places to be funny, but also suspenseful as the main team works to solve the murder mystery of a 16-year-old girl. It builds the story up slowly, but steady as the pages flip while we wait to find out who did this? My attention was held, the writing is super easy to read through and descriptive without overdoing it. The ending was satisfying and I might read the other books in the series.

My copy came from Net Galley as an ARC. My thoughts and opinions are my own. This review is left of my own free volition.

The Monkeewrench books are in a detective class all their own. Consistently well written, this one is no exception as Magozzi and Rolseth dive into the murder of a highly successful local businessman. With the Monkeewrench crew's unique skill set and point of view, it's easy to see why they call of them for help.

Thank you Netgalley and Crooked Lane Books for this ARC.

Great, fast-paced thriller. I wish I would've read other books from this series, but it was still a thrilling read! I recommend!

Another great installment in the Monkeewrench series. However, I think I missed a novel or two, which left me somewhat confused on the characters story lines. Nothing that stopped me from enjoying it though. Well done again, PJ Tracy!

The Guilty Dead by P.J. Tracy is part of the monkeewrench series and if you haven’t read any of them your missing out. Although I recommend racing the others in the series, you won’t have trouble starting with this one as it’s a thrillingly great read.

I have loved this series from the very first book. This one hits all the same good notes - the team dynamic is still great, the relationship between Gino and Leo is heartwarming, and it's nice to see the evolution in the lives of the characters, who have been allowed to grow and progress. The mystery itself was not my favorite, but that's only because of a personal preference; I just like more personal mysteries more than the 'conspiracy at the highest levels of government' type. But for what it is, it's done well, and the great part of the series has always been the characters more than the plots.
