Wicked read, what a bumpy ride Jess Ryder has taken me on with The Ex-Wife. This one is a psychological thriller that keeps a reader guessing all the way until the very end, and then maybe even after you’ve finished the book. Perfect read im sure this one will be a huge hit, and i will be looking out for the author again

I had never heard of this author before, but I was super excited to be giving a copy by Netgalley to review!

Honestly I can't even go into much detail because I feel I'd give far too much away. I would think I figured it out then a few minutes later the rug would be pulled from right under me!

My one issue was the switch between past and present at times I felt it was a bit dizzying. This book will keep you entranced! Great weekend read!

Natasha Warrington has a seemingly happy life with Nick (who is quite older to her), and their daughter Emily. Nick (aka Nicholas) had a divorce once he met Natasha, from his ex-wife, Jen (aka Jennifer).

Natasha feels out of place in his high-society lifestyle since she comes from a very ordinary upbringing, where people struggle to make ends meet. Worse still, Jen doesn’t seem to let go of Nick; and all sympathies are with the ex-wife; since Natasha is considered to be a home-breaker. Despite all of this, she holds forte and goes about her daily routines, in all efforts to ensure that they continue to have a happy married life.

One fine day Nick disappears, along with Emily.
And Natasha goes berserk!
Despite all efforts, she reaches dead ends, especially since she (a pretty daft woman) has no back-up or help.
And who does she reach out to for help – Nick’s ex-wife, Jen. She has no choice. No one else will entertain her.

Jen is sweet and helpful, and not the bitter woman Natasha thought she was.
Can Jen help in finding out where Nick is, and eventually, what happened to Emily?

Fast-paced, racy and brilliantly written…

The only issue I had was with Natasha – her character, her decisions and her indecisiveness.
I don’t know if there are such people in this world, especially in today’s era.

This book kept me quite dizzy and I remained dizzy most of the way through with interludes of calmness, all in a good way.

As I read further and got more and more lost within its pages I got more sense of who was who and what was what.

The author did a fantastic job of keeping secrets and leading me along with my mind keep ticking over. This deceit takes you on a journey of craftiness with superb writing.

I found it a busy book with always something going on to keep my attention and my readers juices flowing.

The chapters are given to Anna, Natasha and Jennifer. At the beginning I was trying to keep up, but once my brain got into gear I was well away. Everything started to fall into place.

Nick is the main guy in this story. He interconnects as you read along.

The ending had my jaw on the floor.
I wasn't expecting THAT.

My thanks to Bookoutour and Net Galley for my copy.

3.5 Stars

A marriage built on secrets, lies, and pure craziness leads to the ultimate betrayal in The Ex-Wife.

Natasha is happily married to Nick. Yes, she’s given up her youth to be with him, but she is rewarded with a life of luxury and her lovely daughter, Emily. Nick left his wife, Jen, to be with Natasha. Jen, however, remains a constant presence in their lives. As their marriage begins to show signs of strain, Natasha begins to plan for a life without Nick. But before she can leave, Natasha returns home to find both Nick and Emily gone. Natasha is determined to get her daughter back, even if it means accepting help from Jen. But can Jen be trusted?

The story is told from the point of views of Natasha, Jen, and the mysterious Anna. With each POV, tidbits about Nick, Jen, and Natasha’s tumultuous relationship are gradually revealed.

What I liked about this book is that I was never really sure what was going on or how things were going to play out. I was addicted for the first 50%, but then things fizzled out a bit. I figured out the first major twist but was surprised by some others. There were certain revelations that were a bit of a letdown. I also was quite intrigued by Sam’s character and wanted to know more about him.

I couldn’t stand Nick and didn’t understand why these women fell for him. He’s a controlling a**hole. Yes, he was supposedly good looking and made good money, but that’s never enough to be treated like shit. I wanted to shake these women for being with him.

Overall, this is a fun psychological thriller that kept me turning the pages.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and Bookouture in exchange for an honest review.

A great psychological thriller, this author has done it again. Once you're into it the story gets going and it becomes a real page turner. Loved it.

The Ex Wife is a thriller and then some. The typical story, man in his 40s meets a younger better model, dumps the current wife for the young fling and marries her or is it. This story has more twists and turns than a roller coaster and every time you think you know what’s going to happen your left with your jaw on the floor! A definite no must read if you are into Psychological Thrillers!

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for a copy of this book and WOW what a book it is.
Natasha is young and married to older husband Nicholas. She has a dream home, money and a beautiful daughter Emily. Everything is perfect except for one thing, Nicholas’s ex-wife of 20 years Jennifer. Nicholas left Jennifer when he finds out Natasha was pregnant after an affair. Jennifer seems always to be with Nick even though there are not together.
One day Natasha goes to pick Emily from childcare and was told that Emily never arrived that day, not only that, but her husband Nicholas has disappeared too without a trace. What is happening? Natasha loves her daughter very much and will do anything to get her back. She doesn’t want to involve her mother, as she has enough on her plate. So who better to help and knows Nicholas better than herself, Nicholas’s ex-wife Jennifer. But, can she trust her and why should she help after taking her husband away.
I loved this book from Jess Ryder. This is a superb, twisted psychological thriller. I have never read anything like it. There is so many twists and turns and you can’t tell who is telling the truth and who is lying. I didn’t want to end. I highly recommend

I enjoyed this but didn’t love it. The writing was good and the plot was interesting. There were also a few good twists that I didn’t see coming.

I guess I found some things confusing. I’m still not sure what I should be taking away from the prologue?? What was Sam’s part in all this? I think maybe it’s more straightforward than I’m giving it credit.

I would read more by this author. Thanks NetGalley and author, Jess Ryder for a free copy in exchange for a review.

This book follows the story of Natasha and her husband Nick. Their life is perfect - they are happily married, they have a young daughter Emily, and Nick has a very successful, well-paying job. Natasha is a stay at home mom and has everything she could ever want. They live a life of luxury and money is not an obstacle. Nick loves his little family, doting on Natasha and Emily every chance he gets. There is just one problem.... Nick's ex-wife Jen.

Jen seems to still have feelings for Nick, and Natasha gets the feeling that Jen wants Nick back. Jen is always calling Nick for one thing or another, even stopping by the house unexpectedly to see Nick. Nick's sister has a new baby, and she asks Nick and Jen to be the baby's godparents, much to the annoyance of Natasha. Nick's family doesn't seem to like Natasha, and even though they have been married for a few years they seem to despise her. They seem to still love Jen, they think the world of her.

The story hooks us in from the very beginning. It is a very well written story, and it tells us how Nick and Natasha first met and fell in love. When they met, Nick was still married to Jen, but eventually Natasha got pregnant and Nick decided to leave his wife Jen and get a divorce. Eventually Nick and Natasha get married.

This book was amazing! I loved how it was written, from two different point of views; part from Jen's and part from Natasha's. The book was also written in two different timelines; now and then. It wasn't confusing at all to follow the story, and I really enjoyed that. The book held your attention and interest from the very beginning right through to the end. I read this book in just over a day it was that good.

There are a lot of twists and turns in this book, that are both thrilling and gripping. I loved how the story played out and how all your questions were answered in time. There were many parts of this book that had you guessing all the way through, and a few times you will find yourself questioning whose side you were on, and who was telling the truth.

The ending! Oh my gosh! Without giving too much away, I'll leave it at that. But I loved this book and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Perfect read for any fan who loves a psychological thrilling book.

Wow is all I can say. I have not previously read a Jess Ryder book, but I am now a total fan. Just the type of book I love with all types of twists and turns you never see coming. This book really makes you think. Who can you trust? Who is your ally? Who is your enemy? Don't assume anything with this book. What do you do when you are the "2nd wife" and the first wife still is around? How does one manage, especially when you have everything that she wanted (and still wants). Who do you turn to when you find your husband and child mysteriously disappear? This is one un-put-downable book. I finished it in 2 days time.

What a head spinner..... An amazing psychological thriller completely worthy of its genre. I was completely thrown after twist and spins to realise I was only 50% into book! An excellent read.

Wow, this is one twisted roller coaster ride that Jess Ryder takes us on... and I loved every minute of it! The Ex-Wife is a fast-paced psychological thriller that has so many layers and twists that I found myself glued to the story, turning page after page.

Natasha has a perfect life that every girl dreams of - the handsome husband, the gorgeous dream house, and the most adorable little girl that she would move heaven and earth for. Just one problem, her husband's annoying ex-wife who just won't leave him alone. Then BAM, Natasha comes home one afternoon to find her husband and daughter gone without a trace. What is going on? Why is this happening? Natasha will do anything to get her daughter back. She decides to ask her husband's ex-wife for help, after all, she knows him better than anyone. But can Natasha trust her?

Kudos to Jess Ryder for writing this gripping psychological thriller that I couldn't put down! Highly Recommend

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced readers copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Wow-is all I can say.
Every time that I thought that I figured out what was going on, the author threw another unexpected twist at me.
I loved her writing style, how she had the 2 main women characters alternating their story to us by using both their past and present timelines.
This is the 1st book that I have read by this author but, it won’t be the last.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading suspenseful thrillers.

A convoluted, twisty tale of marital infidelity, scheming, and people who aren't who you think they are. The 3 main characters are Natasha, Nick, and Jen -- actually I didn't find any of them relatable or likeable, but surely everyone has a redeeming quality or two. Maybe.

Jen and Nick, childhood sweethearts, were married for 20 years. Unsuccessful at having a child, Nick has an affair with Natasha and decides to divorce Jen and marry Natasha when she becomes pregant. Pretty common domestic drama, right? Well the plot thickens when, out of the blue, Natasha returns to the home she shares with Nick anad their daughter, Emily, to find herself locked out and both Nick and Emily vanished. No spoilers, but the reader is treated to cross and double cross and a few 'gotcha' moments as this sordid saga reaches a climax. It's told in multiple points of view and flips back and forth in time to increase what is meant to be a degree of suspense and tension. How will it all end and what actually did happen to these characters?

I read a lot of psychological thrillers so my anticipation and thrill meter is often lower than that of other readers. It kept my interest and I was curious to see how it all played out. I can't say that there were any real surprises at the climax, but the author did try very hard to weave a complicated web that required the slow unraveling to all make sense.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for this e-book ARC to read and review.

What a riveting and exciting book The Ex-Wife is, it’s one of those books where all jobs and chores go out of the window as you struggle to put this fabulous book down. Jess Ryder has written a brilliant book, full of twists and turns.

We are introduced in the book to a few different characters that I will admit it took me a while to get straight in my head. Once I knew who was married to who and who the ex-wife was, I was all good! Natasha is married to Nick and they have a daughter called Emily. Nick was married to Jen and Natasha believes Jen is out to get Nick back. Nick and Emily disappear one day and Natasha is reluctant to accept help from Jen. Will they ever see eye-to-eye?

We alternate voices between Jen, Natasha and also another character called Anna – where Anna fits in to the story is for you to find out, read the book! I was in turmoil over the characters, did I love them? No. Did I hate them? Sometimes. Did I feel sorry for them? Most definitely. This didn’t detract from the book though, I loved having changing opinions over the characters!

I loved Jess’s writing style, it was easy to get sucked into the plot and develop some strong feelings over the book. I was on tenterhooks for the majority of the book, where will it go? What’s going to happen? The twists and turns sent me spinning but I didn’t dare stop reading until I had reached the end of this gripping book.

The Ex-Wife was a thrilling journey, filled with extremely well-written characters and suspense. This was my first book I’ve read by Jess but I will definitely be reading her others now! If you love your suspenseful and gripping psychological thrillers then I highly recommend this one. Just make sure you have nothing planned when you first start it!

Wow, what a read! Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for another fantastic book to read and review.
This is the story of two women and their love for one man and how he manipulates them both. The chapters are alternated between Jen and Natasha. Nick is now married to Natasha and they have a baby daughter Emily. They seem to have a perfect marriage but Jen doesn’t seem to be able to let Nick go, she is always pestering him and is jealous of their baby. One day Natasha returns home to find Nick and Emily gone. She is utterly devastated and has to enlist Jen’s help to track them down. I am not going to elaborate further as it is such a gripping read that I don’t want to spoil it. This is a dark, intense psychological thriller with so many twists and turns and an ending that will definitely surprise you. I am looking forward to reading Jess Ryder’s previous books.
