Susan Mallery has done it again with Not Quite Over You! This book is a masterclass in second-chance romance, blending heartfelt moments, a swoon-worthy love story, and just the right amount of small-town drama to keep you hooked. Silver and Drew’s journey feels so real, with their complicated past and undeniable chemistry practically jumping off the page.
The emotional stakes are high here, and Mallery handles them beautifully—making you root for these two to find their way back to each other, even when things seem impossible. And can we talk about the realistic portrayal of co-parenting and the struggles of starting over? It adds so much depth to an already captivating story.
Also, the side characters in Happily Inc. are just delightful. They bring humor, heart, and a sense of community that makes you want to pack up and move there immediately (or at least book a weekend getaway).
If you’re looking for a romance that tugs at your heartstrings but also leaves you smiling like a goof at the end, this is it. Highly recommend!

Even though this book is years old, I’m glad I finally get around to reading it because it reminded me why I loved Susan Mallory as an author. Her books are always super sweet, with great plot and characters that you want to stick around to read about the next ones. I am super invested, and need more from this got!

Not Quite Over You by Susan Mallery
I love Susan Mallery and have been having fun reading my way through this series, although accidentally out of order! I love this small town, with super sweet characters. I don't typically like second chance romances, especially when the first chance was in high school, but this was done well! It felt real and I'm glad I didn't skip this one even though it's not my favorite from the series. I liked Silver in the previous books, but not as much in this one. She's sweet and kind, but she was missing something. Drew, however, was a dream, and more than made up for my iffiness on Silver. I wish they'd had a bit more chemistry. They have quite a past and lots of emotions and they've both done a lot of growing, but where's the hot chemistry? Don't get me wrong, everything was still very swoony but not as intensely romantic as I'd wanted. I had fun catching up with other characters from the series!

Silver Tesdal has a head for business and a mouth made for kissing, and banker Drew Lovato has his eye on both. But ever since he was dumb enough to let her go, she’s kept him at a distance. When the bank turns her down for a loan, Drew sees a double opportunity—he can finance her brilliant, unique idea to rock Happily Inc’s wedding industry and win back her trust.
I'm a big fan of Susan Mallery but couldn't get into this one as much as her other books. It's a quirky charming read.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for this book in exchange for my honest review!

I absolutely blazed through this series once I got going, and I think I loved Silver's story most of all. She's so dang strong and has been through so much, and everyone treats her like a strong independent woman. This series is awesome, I'm so glad I read it, and I've already told several friends to get it as well!

I have been reading the Happily Inc series, but have read them out of order and that does not seem to be a problem for anyone else who wants to jump in. In book #4 we meet Silver Tesdal and Drew Lovato. Years earlier they had a relationship, but with Drew going away to school, it ended, however the feelings never completely went away. Drew is back and is working at his family's bank, hoping to become CEO when his grandfather retires. Silver runs a traveling bar business that is kept extremely busy with all the weddings in town. She wants to expand her business, but was turned down for a loan. Drew steps in and buys the airstream trailers that she wants to renovate and convinces her that he can be her partner. Now, you know that when a couple have residual feelings for one another spend a lot of time together, that chances are those embers will flare to life. This was a sweet romance with some angst, well more angst than in the other stories I have read in this series. There were some secrets that needed to be shared, but would they cause problems? Of course they will. Overall, this was a romance with several bumps in the road. There was a past that needed to be shared and forgiven, secrets that had to be shared and relationships to develop. A nice addition to this series.

I used to really like books by Susan Mallery. For whatever reason, this book was not for me. I could barely finish it, and when I did, I was mad I wasted so much time trying to finish it. I hope I can get back into Mallery's books, but this might have ruined it.

I'm usually a big fan of Mallery, but this story just didn't ring authentic. The sudden way the H begins pursuing the h without much of an explanation as to why he let the interim years just float by bugs me. Not her best (though with Mallery's skills, definitely better than quite a bit out there in the genre).
*I received a review copy from the publisher/author via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.*

I have chosen not to read and review this title. My apologies for the delay in responding regarding this title.
As always, I appreciate the opportunity to read early copies of your titles.
Thank, you,
Laura

I want to thank the publisher for accepting my read request!
I haven't read a Susan Mallery book yet, but being a cozy romance fan I knew our paths would cross one day. Unfortunately this one didn't jive with me and I DNF'd about halfway through. I struggled with the unrealistic plot; I struggled with the length of time Drew and Silver didn't communicate but then suddenly became business partners. I tried to keep going, I just didn't think it was fair if I wasn't fully enjoying it.
I can tell that the author creates charming characters and will certainly pick up one of her other books! I recently bought a copy of her book 'When We Found Home' and excited to read that one as I've heard good things.

Good read. First loves are one of my favorite types of romances add in second changes and series? I am a happy camper. I loved everything about Drew and Silver's story.

Ohhhh this book. It was so good. I love second chance romances, and this one did not disappoint.
Silver and Drew were such fun characters and so well developed. And I loved seeing the chemistry play out between them.
Both of them are such driven characters. And the plot between them was pretty good as well.
I didnt want to put this one down. It will keep you flipping the pages craving to know how it's all gonna end.
For sure a 5 star read for me

Another amazing book by author Susan Mallery! I just love all of her books, I think it's her writing style. She really knows how to make you see the whole story in your head as your reading. I can't get enough of her books. I think this might be a new favorite of mine.

Happy, Inc is a good series. Not Quite Over You is a second chance at love story. Susan Mallery's books stand alone fairly well, but are better read as a series because the characters pop up in previous and subsequent books. The primary couple in NQOY was introduced in an early book. The story dragged for me for reasons I cant explain. The characters are well drawn, but I didnt feel the spark between them. I know that the next book in the series might be my favorite, so I keep reading Susan Mallery. Not Quite Over You was entertaining, I'm glad I read it. 3.5
I received my copy through NetGalley under no obligation.

I'm a huge Susan Mallery fan. I've read everything of hers that I can get my hands on and when I was given the chance to read Not Quite Over You I was quick to jump on the opportunity. This book is amazing! It was the perfect addition to her Happily, Inc. series. I can hardly wait for the next!

I really liked the characters in this book. However, I did not see as much chemistry between Drew and Silver as I would like. Sometimes it felt like they just got together for the sake of it. Their little town was great, it was great to see their relationships with their friends. The conflict of the book, however was stupid. It felt like child's play. Drew's mom's expectations felt like a controlling mom from a YA book.
But overall, I loved the writing style, I just had a slight problem with the chemistry and conflict.

A great light read that had me hooked from the start! I am such a sucker for a good second chance love story and this one has it all! Loved it!
I fell completely in love with Silver (great name by the way) and Drew! I couldn't help but hope for them to find their way! Will Silver's secret stop them in their tracks or will they be able to move past it and find the love they had before? Pick this one up to find out!

I loved Silver so much in the other books I was really looking forward to her own book but as more of the story was revealed the more disappointed I felt. Silver's back story with Drew was really sad and at the end, I wasn't rooting for Drew at all and wasn't his biggest fan at all.
Which makes the story difficult because obviously Silver and Drew get their HEA and I wasn't Drew's biggest fan!
Overall, a nice addition to the series but not my favourite book.

NOT QUITE OVER YOU was cute and fun, and had an entertaining story. The plot was fairly predictable, and the characters were a bit one dimensional, but the dialogue was believable, and I always enjoy an easy romance. This was definitely that! For people that love the typical romance formula, this is the book for you!

Silver dances to the beat of her own drum, for sure. In true Happily Inc fashion, she's fiercely independent, strong, and knows her limitations. When she decides to expand her business, she just doesn't realize that an old flame is going to show up with money burning a hole in his pocket and unrequited love burning a hole in his heart.
Cute story, loved the business focus and Silver's approach to the learning curve. Susan Mallery continues to impress me with fresh characters and plots, cameos consistent with prior books, and the ever popular but hard-to-find-in-real-life "sensitive" alpha male.
