I thought this was an entertaining story, the plot was pretty much straight forward, the characters were engaging and relatable.

If you are looking for a fun, beach read this summer than Scotland or Bust would be the perfect book for you. It is a light, fun read that will definitely make you laugh from the very start. The characters are super funny, catching and will definitely bring a smile to your face. I loved Nicole's character as she is the girl next door - the one who would you hangout with, the one you would laugh with and maybe even take a plane with to Scotland.

Harrison is the brooding billionaire who is hiding from everything in his life. Until he meets Nicole on the plane and she changes his life forever. I love how they are thrown together and how destiny brings them together. Nicole fits seemingly well into Harrison's eccentric family, maybe a little too well .... for his liking. I loved the romance factor in this book as Nicole Franklin is a gifted writer, who will definitely make you laugh throughout this fun read.

If you are planning a vacation that includes a lake, beach or even a beautiful outdoor campsite, then this is the book for you. It is a light, fun read that will make you laugh and help you relax. Nicole Franklin is a great writer, who knows how to keep her audience captivated with her great story line. Make sure you add Scotland or Bust to your To-Be-Read Shelf this summer!

Synopsis: Nikki is tired of being stuck in the same old rut, so she quits her job and cashes in her 401k to go on a trip to England. She buys a first class ticket, and ends up seated next to Harrison.
Harrison is a billionaire who is forced to take a commercial flight because his private jet has mechanical problems. He is worried about getting a talkative seat mate, and doesn't like flying. When Nikki sits next to him, she tells him her life story before they get off the ground, and then kisses him to distract him while they are taking off.
When they land, Harrison, who is dreading dealing with his family because he doesn't seem to fit, finds out that his assistant has quit. He knows that Nikki is looking for a job, so he offers to pay her to be his assistant. Nikka agrees, and they head to his family estate.

What I liked: Harrison's family. They were delightfully kooky, and always themselves. Nikki, although not quite as wild as they were, appreciated them for who they were and went with the flow. She was able to manage Harrison and his family and friends while still being true to herself. Harrison's relationships with his friends was all about giving each other a hard time, which made him loosen up quite a bit while he interacted with them.

What I didn't like: it was never made clear how Harrison became a billionaire. Harrison and Nikki both held on to their individual ideas longer than they should have.

Overall impression: this was light and cute. I had a smile on my face the entire time while I was reading.

Scotland or Bost was not what I expected. It had fun characters and a fairly decent plot but the mentioning and adding of both the Outlander books, T.V. series and tours kinda erked me. I couldn’t get past that, and therefore found the book unapplying. I want to thank Netgalley for this sneak peak. I’ll certainly check out other books by this author, as I quite enjoyed the writing and fun characters.

Note: I received this book as an ARC from Netagalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. A major thanks to both of them for this opportunity!

Sigh. A swoony, rich, somewhat more brooding (is that even right?) 'hero'. Man, I'm already sold. And while of course the situation that Nicole gets into isn't exactly realistic and a tad cliche (not that I mind that), you know, ending up becoming the assistant of a super rich, super hot guy, but that's not what I took this book to be for. It's such a fun and dreamy novel, so it's fantastic for a bit of an escape.

The family moments in this was so so cute and just an absolutely gorgeous message. And of course the main characters had such a palpable chemistry.

Honestly, there's not much more I can say. Just a fantastic novel for an escape, especially with the *exotic* setting.
Fantastic job to the author and the publisher

Fun, light hearted homage to Outlander

Kira Archer did a fabulous job with this story. I found the plot was creative and the characters both believable and likable. I thought Nicole and Harrison were a surprisingly well matched couple. A smart Romantic comedy can be hard to pull off but the author nailed it from beginning to end.
I received an advance copy from Netgalley.

Awesome contemporary British billionaire romance. Harrison works and spends most of his time in New York. During the Summers he goes back home to his crazy family and their ancestral castle that's falling down. Nicole was fed up working at her accounting jobs and falling for one guy after another. So, she decided to fly to Europe with no plans of ever returning to New York. He ends up offering her a job as his assistant. This story has eccentric individuals, Harrison is stiff, Nikki fits in with his family leading to laughter. I received a complementary copy of this book via Net Galley and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by this author.

Who wouldn't love a trip to the UK, especially when the weather is pretty decent? Even better is to visit the countryside and Scotland. I received a copy of Scotland or Bust via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Nicole is basically running away from her life. She has left her job, broken up with her boyfriend, sold pretty much everything and is heading to her dream location with the hope of finding the life she has dreamed of and seeing the sites mentioned in her favorite book series, Outlander, would just be the icing on the cake of her new dream life. She boards her flight and things start off with a great big bang or a handsome Brit as a seatmate.

Harrison Troy is on a flight to visit his family in the countryside of England. He cringes at the shenanigans of his family but, he always dedicates the Summer to going home. This year is different. This year his family, who runs a travel service, are kicking off their new tour which happens to follow the Outlander book series including staying in a castle and visiting sites in Scotland. How fortuitous that Nicole dreams of doing that tour but it is all booked up. It also just so happens that Harrison's assistant has quit and he needs help getting the maiden tour off the ground. Nicole just so happens to need a job and getting in on the tour just makes this the best job ever. Nicole and Harrison have amazing chemistry but, Harrison is only in the UK for the Summer and plans to head back to his amazing job in the States and Nicole is moving to the UK when they meet on the plane.

Scotland or Bust is a hilarious, romantic comedy. Harrison's relatives could hold their own in a book just about them, especially the grandmother. Nichole's antics fit right in with the Troys and the developing friendship between Nichole and Harrison is great to follow. I now have to go and dig up more by this author because this was a great read! Review can also be seen at Lady Techie's Book Musings http://LadyTechiesbookmusings.blogspot.com.

This was a lighthearted romp. There wasn't much substance to it, but sometimes that's what I'm looking for in a book. I want something easy to digest and fun to read. This fit the bill. If someone is looking for deep, high art, this isn't the book for them.

I have never heard of the author but the cover looked fun and sassy and the book sounded awesome! So when I was approved on Netgalley I was over the moon super excited. I had decided that this was the next book that I was going to read. Right off the bat the book had me laughing with Nikki's antics and Harrison's stiff personality. Granny might have stolen the show just a little bit too. I really loved Granny's advice after the wedding re-enactment. That was true tips for life. The ending read like a Hallmark movie (I really hate Hallmark movies) however, with that being said I loved this book and I really want to read more by this author. I didn't want to put this down, I literally read it in less than two days.

I absolutely love this series by Kira Archer. Scotland or Bust is a great story with emotions, drama, boss/employee romance and Love. This was a well written story with some really intriguing characters that really captured your attention and doesn’t let go even after you have finished reading their story. I really enjoyed reading this book and I would wholeheartedly recommend this book to all book lovers out there

This book was a delightful escape from beginning to end. I don't think I know anyone who hasn't dreamed of starting over somewhere new and following Nikki as she makes a life for herself in England (and falls in love in the process) was a romp. Nikki and Harrison are one of those couples that work despite their differences, it just takes them a little while to figure that out. This is one of those books that are perfect for spending an afternoon with on the patio.

3.5 Stars - I enjoyed this fun little romance and ode to Outlander. I thought that Nikki and Harrison wre really fun characters and enjoyed the shenanigans that they got themselves into. I liked Harrison's friends and family as well and how they added humor to the pages. Overall I felt like the funny situations were a little bit repetitive at first, but still amusing. I didn't feel like I completely understood where the characters were coming from, why they were so reluctant to be in a relationship... it just didn't quite make sense to me. I was hoping for a little bit more out of the story, but still enjoyed it.

Harrison Troy is heading home to Scotland to help with the family business. However, he's in need of an assistant when his decides to quit on him. Luckily, he knows someone that can immediately step into the role; someone that needs a job and a place to stay. However, the more time Harrison spends with Nicole Franklin, the more he finds himself wanting the one thing he never thought he wanted -- a relationship. Will Harrison convince Nicole to take a chance on him or will she walk away from her chance at happy ever after because she's afraid he'll break her heart?

I love Ms. Archer's stories and I've got to say that this was a captivating and fantastic read where the main characters were interesting due to their back stories and everything they go through on their journey to happy ever after; the quirky secondary characters entertained me just as much as the hero and heroine, especially the hero's grandmother with her eccentricity; the dialogue was a wonderful combination of intense moments and playful banter, as the hero and heroine find themselves engaged; and the fast-paced plot was entertaining because the heroine has come to Scotland to stay and have an adventure while the hero is only in the country temporarily to help his family. Will the heroine be able to convince the hero to stay?

With the main characters, the heroine was resilient, courageous and I liked how she helped the hero navigate his time with his family, as it's not easy for Harrison to be around them. Sometimes, he finds they can be too much, which is proven by the fact they know nothing about personal boundaries. Yet, what I liked most of all about the heroine was her positive outlook on life and that she never let anything get her down. While the hero, I couldn't help but sympathize with him because of everything he's been through and I could understand why it's hard for him to come home to Scotland. He lost someone important and hasn't ever really gotten over the loss. Yet, in saying that, he's worked hard to get to where he is in his life and has done really well for himself. He's confident, driven and I liked how determined he was to help his family, even though playing tour guide on an Outlander experience is something he'd rather not be doing. Luckily, Nicole makes things interesting for him. However, what I liked most of all about the hero was the tight friendships he shares with secondary characters - Brooks, Chris and Cole, as they love to tease each other and aren't afraid to give Harrison advice when it comes to his relationship with Nicole.

Overall, Ms. Archer has delivered another really good read for her Winning the Billionaire series where the chemistry between the main characters was heady and convincing; the romance was hot and shows off their chemistry wonderfully; and the ending had me loving the lengths the hero goes to in order to show the heroine that he wants her in his life. Will she take a chance on him? I would recommend Scotland or Bust by Kira Archer, if you enjoy the opposites attract trope, the fake relationship trope or books by authors Marissa Clarke, Tawna Fenske, Stefanie London and Cat Carmine.

3.5 “Kilts and an accent trumps anything” Stars

“This guy was totally her ideal wet dream waiting to happen. Until he opened his mouth. Even the accent couldn’t save him then”

Scotland or Bust was full of things I loved and it had me laughing and smiling like a fool. At the same time, something about it didn’t totally work for me although I can’t quite put my finger on what it was.

Harrison is flying back home to lend a hand to his family’s business. The mere fact that he has to go to the mostly run-down castle that his parents won’t just let him fix and stay with his crazy relatives drives him crazy. Add to it that their new idea to save their travel agency is giving people a true “Outlander experience” which includes him trampling around their estates wearing a kilt. Almost at his breaking point, he ends up hiring the obnoxiously happy woman who sat next to him on the flight after his assistant quits on him at the very last possible second. Even when the woman in question drove him crazy in the few hours they’ve known each other.

Nikki needs a plan stat. Jumping on a plane with no preparations or clue as to what she was going to do once she landed was probably not the best idea ever. Now she’ll have to accept Harrison’s offer not only because it’s too good to pass, but well… it’s actually the only one she has right that moment.

With incredible chemistry the more time they spend together, the harder it is for them to fight their attraction. And though at first it seems as if they are complete opposites and wouldn’t ever get along, soon they realize that that’s not entirely true.

I liked both Harrison and Nikki. Harrison comes off as a bit of an ass at first, all moody and grumbly, but as he relaxes more and more around Nicole, we get glimpses of a sweeter, caring guy. The accent and the occasional kilt wearing do not hurt his sexiness in the least.

I had a bit of a harder time connecting to Nikki, and while I did like her and found her funny, quirky and sweet I felt her issues weren’t as… issue-y as she found them.

While I can’t say I loved Scotland or Bust as much as the two previous stories in this series, I still had a great time reading it and I enjoyed their banter and their sexy shenanigans. I think Outlander fans especially, will totally get a kick out of it too.

Scotland or Bust is a cute and light romance and the influence of ‘The Book That Must Not Be Named’ added quite a bit of humour to the story, as did the villagers and Harrison’s family, especially his grandmother, bike jousting and streaking, now that is one lady who is not feeling her age!

As with other books by Kira Archer the writing was smooth. It wasn’t a long novel, my guess would be just over novella length, but it was long enough to tell the story in a satisfactory manner.

If you are looking for a light romance that doesn’t take itself very seriously, then I’d recommend checking out Kira Archer’s Scotland or Bust.

Ahh, this book was the PERFECT airplane read—and not just because it started on a plane and ended with the sweetest HEA . . .

It was fun and flirty, light-hearted and lovable, and a great addition to Kira Archer's Winning the Billionaire series. Why? Well . . . Harrison and Nicole butted heads but worked well together; they seemed like the epitome of opposites attracting, yet had incredible chemistry; and, at heart, this playful couple had very similar outlooks on life and love.

Altogether, this one was a great, easy story to enjoy during the long hours of a plane ride—even if, sadly, my flight didn't start with an epic kiss with a handsome, rich stranger and end with a nod to everyone's favorite sexy Scot, Jamie Fraser.

This book reads as a stand-alone, but it soon became obvious that this was obviously a spin-off or tangentially related to previous books by the author. I can't help but feel I might have felt more connected had I read those books prior to this one.

This wasn't quite an enemies-to-lovers, but Harrison and Nicole/Nikki definitely started out antagonistic towards each other and there was definitely some insta-lust involved. One thing that I did find somewhat bothersome, was that a lot seemed to happen "off camera". While I don't need the minutiae of every interaction described in detail, I felt there was a lot of "telling" vs. "showing" going on. As a result, I never felt that the growth of their relationship was really as believable as it could be.

One of the major issues was supposed to be Harrison's "crazy" family. Maybe this is a reflection on me, but honestly, his Granny was the only one who seemed a little quirky to me so that seemed a bit overblown for me.

*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for an ARC in return for my honest review. This story was an enjoyable romp through Great Britain with many references to Outlander. Definitely a fun read for fans of Outlander and an adorable crazy granny is thrown in to boot!
