This was a great poetry book. I always absolutely enjoy her work and I can't wait to read more in the near future. I highly recommend it.

Some lovely poems but altogether I couldn’t connect with most. Sorry to have not enjoyed this as much as I hoped. Some o individual poems were wonderful but generally it wasn’t really my style.

Courtney Peppernell is a truly gifted writer, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. She has a simple yet beautiful and lyrical way with words.

This collection is filled with emotional affirmations, exactly what I was in need of when I finally picked up this book.

The poems written in this book were about love and healing and most importantly, hope!. I found so many of them to be relatable.

For some reason I have yet to read the first Pillow Thoughts book, but I certainly have plans to do so now. I am also eager to read
More of Courtney’s poetry!

Highly recommend!!

I enjoyed the writing in Pillow Thoughts 2.
I liked that I could dip in and out of the book.
I found my problem was with the writing, which was impeccable, and an accurate portrayal of falling, and being in love, was so good I couldn’t connect with it, and almost couldn’t finish Pillow Thoughts.

This collection was a bit of a mixed bag for me. Some of the poems blew me away, but most of them felt a meh to me. I think this was in large part because of the theme - love poems, both about being in love and about getting over love, just never resonated with me very well.

I also found Peppernell's style a bit jarring. There would be rhymes sometimes, but not enough enough for me to get used to them, so when they appeared, they threw me out of the poem.

Pillow Thoughts II is for those healing after having their hearts broken. Many of the poems were somewhat cliche and not quite as relatable to those not mending after a loss.

I had previously purchased Courtney's first book and thoroughly enjoyed it, so I was thrilled to see that this book was available on NetGalley for review. I must say that I think I liked this book even more than the first Pillow Thoughts. The poems were relatable and thought-provoking. Thanks NetGalley for the opportunity to review.

I actually did not finish this book, I thought many of the poems to be very bland and repetitive, as well as their subject matter to be very narrow.

Many thanks to the publishing company for providing me this book to read and review.
I read Ms. Peppernell's first book; Pillow Thoughts, and even though I wasn't a huge fan of the first book I really enjoyed the second. I felt that the poems were a little more raw and real compared to the first. I thought the cover art was beautiful and still tied in to the first book which was nice.
I do however don't love the writing style. It came off to me in a few poems, as forced and not as genuine as others.

I'll admit I have yet to read the collection of poems prior to this one but I can say that I loved so many of the poems in this one. I was quite impressed for a first impression and I can definitely understand the hype around this book and author. The poems are inspirational and relatable to those who might be in the process of fixing their own broken hearts. The only downside to this collection is the lack of poem titles, which is mainly out of preference. Nonetheless, I would highly recommend this collection,

Absolutely beautiful collection of poetry. I really enjoyed the first installment of Pillow Thoughts and was not surprised that I loved this collection even more. I related to so many different poems and found myself quoting many aloud to my husband. I hope there are future installments to come!

As a note, a copy of this novel was sent to me via NetGalley by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not effect my opinions in any way.

Courtney Peppernell triumphantly returns with a second installment to her Pillow Thoughts series. Fans of the first collection will adore and connect with part two just as easily as the first one. While I find Pillow Thoughts II to be lacking the emotional punch that Pillow Thoughts did, it is still a wonderful series of prose straight from the heart and soul.

Peppernell has carved a place out in the poetry community and amongst her peers, and her works truly shows this. It all boils down to the subgenre in poetry; the simplistic prose that, despite being short, is still 100% poetry. If you do not like, do not appreciate, or cannot connect with this form of expression? Pillow Thoughts II won't be for you.

The collection is filled with the exact amount of emotions you would expect. It truly is a moment of healing and you can sense this journey heavily throughout it. It's such an important journey to go on and the fact that Peppernell shares this so honestly is very, very important. You're not just reading the lines of someone's thoughts, you're surrounding yourself in it and, like in all good poetry collections, it's therapeutic.

Peppernell writes in the way that your best friend speaks to you.

I remember reading a review, not long before I picked up my galley of this collection, and seeing the affirmation that Pillow Thoughts II is truly like a sleepover with your closet friends. That honest that only comes out at night. I adore that tone and can honestly say that Pillow Thoughts' title could have never been anything else.

Overall, I certainly enjoyed this sequel and was left feeling something warm and fuzzy. Peppernell is a can't-miss talent amongst the poetry community and has an incredibly important voice. You should listen.

Once again Courtney Peppernell does it again. Her poetry has always moved in a way of how love should be and how it's okay to feel what you feel. Her writing is pure and it hits you in a way that you won't expect it to. I enjoy poetry and her poetry is more of a story telling that you can relate yourself to her perspective. You find yourself that your not alone. I try not to read through the whole book in one day. I savor each entry and reflect on it. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone. You don't have to a person who love poetry to read it.

The best. She did it again.
The thoughts are so intriguing. Wonderful words. I can't praise this enough.

I am struggling with contemporary poetry lately. A lot of it is the same style, more like a sentence than an actual poem with stanzas. This collection is no different.

To be quite honest with you, I only really liked two poems in the whole collection. The one about love that supports and uplifts, and the one about finding love in the life’s little things and moments. Those poems were longer and sweet.

Most of the poems in this collection were underwhelming, quite short or either not about something that personally spoke to me. I wish I had enjoyed it, since I’ve heard about her work and seen it in bookstores. Unfortunately, the poems contradicted one another and were mainly about romance - and the pain involved with romantic relationships. I thought this collection would be about other subjects too.

If you want a collection of poems about healing from a painful romance, "Pillow Thoughts II" is for you. If not, look elsewhere. I was certainly disappointed.

I enjoyed this collection of poetry. I feel as if readers can connect with the words and feelings they portray. Everyone goes through heartbreak and has to overcome it. The poems in this collection are meant for readers who need encouragement after heartbreak.

As with the first book, I just adore Pillow Thoughts. The heartache is just as raw in this book, it should come with its own tissue box. With autumn coming up, this is the perfect feel for an evening under the blanket listening to the storm outside. I will keep this book next to my bed together with the first one for those sleepless nights, just so I know that I am not alone in my feelings.

This is the second book of the series, and I was falling hard for this one. I loved the first book, so I basically requested for the second one and it didn't disappoint me in any ways. Thanks NetGalley for allowing me to read this early.

That was a bit...anticlimactic?

The only section I felt I could somewhat connect to was "When Your Heart Misses Someone". Having had experience with long distance relationships, I could feel for a lot of the short prose, but that was about it. I didn't have anything to gain, which doesn't feel like a job well done when Peppernell wrote as if she's sharing her wisdom on all things love and the trials of the heart.

This could be enjoyable for people who haven't dabbled in this sort of YA "Tumblr Poetry" genre. I've read some really beautiful books that still ultimately made it into said category. I can appreciate it for what it is. This just wasn't my cup of tea.
