This was again another great practical eye opening guide from Gary Chapman. Some of the example of other people, how they experience God's love and what the love language is, made me realise how and when I experienced God's love and motivated me to again dig deeper and focus on my love language areas more purposefully.

Love Gary Chapman and his Love Language books. Reading them has really opened my eyes to a lot of things and improved how I communicate with friends, family and in romantic relationships. Love relating the concepts to our relationship with God and think it's definitely a must-read., as are the rest of the books in this series. Chapman makes the concepts easy to understand and relatable to the real world and to ourselves.

I have always loved Gary Chapmans writing and this book is no different. I enjoyed this different perspective on the Five Love Languages!

This book is an interesting departure point from Chapman's 5 love languages theory. I would recommend it.

I appreciate the opportunity from NetGalley and the publisher to read an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Gary Chapman's books are game changers when it comes to relationships, and this one lives up to that claim 100%. One of the best ways we can understand how to love others is by understanding how we receive love, and how God expresses his love for us. If you want to learn more about God's love, your own response to love, or how best to share your love with others, then you don't want to miss this book!

Thank you Moody Publishers and Netgalley for an ARC of this book.

I have read a few of the love languages books and was happy to have the opportunity to read this latest book by Gary Chapman.
This book is a continuation of the five love languages theme, written specially in relation to the readers relationship with god. I didn’t find anything particularly new or relevant for myself within this book, however I am sure there are many who will find his useful, especially if new to the love languages.

I received a complementary copy of this from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book was incredibly logical and thought-provoking, both in how to understand the importance of love languages of others around you, but also how God uses them to help you see His love. I found Chapman's book allowed another level of worship or communication with God to open up. This book is, I believe, one of the most important things you can read if you're looking to strengthen or understand your faith better.

I am reviewing a copy of God Speaks Your Love Language through Moody Publishers and Netgalley:

This book will help the reader to feel God’s love more peesonally!

Gary Chapman reminds us that God speaks a language of love, and in time we learn to speak that language ourselves. In this book we are shown how we can give and receive God’s love through the five love languages which are words of affirmation, quality time, gifts, acts of service, and physical touch.

This book includes a new chapter to this Christian Classic called ”Getting Out of the Comfort Zone.” This chapter will teach the reader the joys of Speaking the love language you aren't used to with God.

I give God Speaks Your Love Language five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!

Your Love Language is important

Gary Chapman is a New York best-selling author of books that treat relationship, marriage, and workplace issues and well-known author of The Five Love Languages as well as the Five Love Languages for Children / Men / Singles / Teenagers. With "God Speaks Your Love Languages" he adds another book that treats this topic.
Chapman states in the introduction that "so many things influence our response to God: culture, family background, life experiences (good and bad), the teachings of our religion. But love is a matter of the heart, the soul—not ritual or religion or what our families or peers do. And each of us expresses and understands love differently—including God's love. Each of us speaks and understands love differently. I am convinced that each of us has a “primary love language,” and when we listen to God in our heart language, we will experience His love most intimately. I am also convinced that God speaks each person's love language fluently." In this book which Chapman shows how God speaks the five different love languages (affirmation, quality time, gifts, acts of service, and physical touch) and he shows how the individual can use love languages in the relationship to God, especially in worship. He encourages the reader to discover his primary love language, but also to get out of the comfort zone.

I highly recommend this book as a supplement to Chapman's previous "Love Language" books. Whereas the other books primarily treat the expression of love between humans, this book treats the expression between God and his children. It is a good help to realize that different people experience God's love differently and show God their love differently.
The complimentary copy of this book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley free of charge. I was under no obligation to offer a positive review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Title: God Speaks Your Love Language
Author: Gary Chapman
Genre: Christian
Rating: 4 out of 5

Millions of people say The 5 Love Languages saved their marriage. Now Gary Chapman applies those love languages to God and those who follow Him.

Some people see God as an impersonal, far away deity, but He is really an up-close-and-personal Father who chooses to speak to us in the language we are most comfortable with. This book both reveals ways that God speaks to us in each love language and shows us ways we can speak to Him and learn new love languages.

I’ve never read The 5 Love Languages (Yet. But I did just buy it, after reading this), yet the author speaks so candidly and simply that all the concepts are easy to understand and relate to. I loved the sections on different forms of worship!

Gary Chapman is the author of The 5 Love Languages. His newest book is God Speaks Your Love Language.

This is a great book and a surprising read for me simply because I had never considered the author's premise that we can apply the concept of the five love languages to our relationship with God. Chapman starts with a brief review of the Five Love Languages and does a good job of showing how there is often an observable pattern in how we most easily connect with God's love that is very similar to how we ideally connect lovingly with others. He also illustrates how this can be observed in the lives of some prominent historical and biblical characters. However he also calls the reader to intentionally consider and practice other love languages that may not come as naturally to the individual. And he speaks of the way in which variety of expressions of love can keep a relationship thriving.
As I read this book I found myself thinking of people I know in real life and feeling that I had gained some insight into their differences that I never understood and often wrongly judged before.
Each chapter ends with useful questions for reflection and the book ends on the note of reinforcing the importance and distinguishing feature of love for the Christian among others in the world.

I truly love the original Gary Chapman love languages book - it is one that I reread regularly and use in many of my relationships. However, I did not feel strongly about this book and it personally did not help me to understand how God is expressing love to me on an individual basis.

As someone who has read both the original Love Languages book and singles version, I was really excited to see that there is a version geared towards every Christian and their relationship with God. The book did not disappoint.

I was fascinated by the author's insight into various Biblical heroes, and what he deduced their love languages to be. I've never been a "words of affirmation" girl, but learning that David was likely a "words of affirmation" kind of guy has made the Psalms come alive even more for me in my personal study.

Knowing in advance that my love language is "quality time" made that hater come alive so much for me! The example of George Mueller as someone who spent quality time with God in prayer encouraged me that even though prayer is one of my greatest struggles, it can become one of my greatest connections to God, as He seeks to spend that quality time with me. No wonder the devil finds ways to distract me from prayer, and provides ample ways for me to waste my time on many other pursuits.

Thinking through the love languages with my relationship with God has completely changed my perspective! I would recommend this book to all Christians seeking to deepen their relationship with God, even if you are unfamiliar with the original love languages book. It can definitely stand on its own.

The Five Love Languages are invaluable relational tools. When you put into practice speaking someone’s love language, you are sure to improve any relationship. Knowing how God speaks your love language is helpful in realizing and experiencing God’s love for you personally. If you are unsure of God’s love, this is a very good resource.

*Thank you Moody Publishers and NetGalley for sending me an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.*

In 1990 another marriage book hit the shelves and took its readers on a journey to better understand how to show love to their spouses. I was one who bought the book. it was called "The Five Love Languages: How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate" by Gary Chapman. I remember devouring that book and learning how to show my husband love in a way he understood it best.

Chapman said that there were five basic ways people felt loved and they are as follows:

Words of Affirmation: things like compliments and encouraging words
Quality Time: undivided attention
Receiving Gifts: something tangible that can be held because it signifies being thought about
Acts of Service:  doing things you know the other person would like you to do
Physical Touch: loving, gentle touches like a hug or a hand on the shoulder

As a newlywed it was exciting to have this knowledge and to watch my husband enjoy love language in practice.  Later, as we had children I was thrilled to read another book by Gary Chapman called The Five Love Languages of Children and later he wrote The Five Love Languages of Teenagers. As our children grew I found each one to be extremely helpful in building our relationships. Chapman continued with writing many other Love Language books specific to singles, men, and others.

Because of my great experience with the Love Language books, I was even more elated when I saw Gary Chapman's newest called God Speaks Your Love Langauge.  The five love languages aren't difficult to grasp and if you refer to the list above, you'll see that they are basic and common sense.  If all we needed to know was what they were we wouldn't need so many books. However, in each book Chapman goes beyond telling us what they are and focuses on helping us learn how to recognize them in ourselves and others and how to practice using them.  Directing attention to how God speaks our love language takes the focus from being a giver to being a receiver. God shows us love through our own personal love language.

God Speaks Your Love Language started out slow for me, but I feel it's because I was familiar  and much of it was review. If you aren't familiar with the subject then you will find this first part of this book helpful in understanding the following chapters.

Chapman uses illustrations from other people to familiarize you with how the love languages work within human relationships. He  then takes that understanding to the next level by showing how they work in a personal relationship with God, both from our giving to God and how God gives to us.  The Biblical examples he gives validates that our relationship with God is meant to be on a personal level.  It inspires you to want to know God even more.

God Speaks Your Love Language by Gary Chapman is a book I'd recommend to anyone.  I'll leave you with this quote from the book."Variety stimulates the mind and creativity livens up what could be a life of monotonous routine. I would like to suggest that the same principle applies to a love relationship with God."

The author begins the book by telling us about a parent’s love for their children and how a normal parent naturally loves their children and grandchildren. He says that God considers us to be His children and He loves us as a parent does.
The example was given of a couple who had been married for over twenty years read the author’s other book on love languages and it transformed their marriage, the couple discovered that the wife ‘s love language was gifts and the husband’s was receiving words of affirmation. When they started giving each other the gifts and words of affirmation, they started loving each other again and spent more time together and it was all because they took the time to find out what their spouse needed to feel loved and affirmed.
You will not only learn about the five love languages to help in your marriage relationship, you will also learn how God can speak to you in your love language so that it draws you closer in your relationship with Him because you will know how much He cares for you!
You will learn how to see verses in the Bible as God’s affirming words to you,you will learn how David not only received words of affirmation from God, he gave words of affirmation to God and praised and worshiped Him!
You will learn how other people have had God speak their love language and how their lives were changed by what God did to and for them, and you will learn how you can love God by using your love language to love and serve Him and others.

I love this series and knew I would like this one too. If you’ve read to previous ones you’ll want to read this one. If you’re new then don’t hesitate to get this one. We all need to know what speaks to us and this brings to light how you can.

This book talks about how the 5 love languages apply to our relationship with God. The author briefly talked about the 5 love languages. He then looked at each love language (words of affirmation, quality time, gifts, acts of service, and physical touch) and discussed how God has shown His love to us in each of these ways. He also provided stories about how people with that primary love language felt most connected to and loved by God (like through studying the Bible, prayer, giving, serving others, or worship). He then challenged readers to show love to God by using the other love languages, too.

I was surprised to realize that I already do enjoy expressing my love to God using all five love languages, but I did learn some interesting insights into how people differ in how they feel most loved by God. While you get a general idea from this book, it helps if you already know your primary love language. Overall, I'd recommend this book.

God speaks YOUR Love Language, is an interesting take on being made in His image. Many may be aware of Gary's previous books related to the use of Love Languages and how fulfilling it can be to share in others Love languages. Just as parents can show their children a specific Love Language; God, who also loves His children, not only works in our Love Language but as Gary so very aptly explains, also enjoys receiving from His children.
Gary expands and shares with us that whether it be Words of Affirmation, Touch, Gifts, Service or Quality Time; that we may not only encourage those close to us, but it also is often the primary way we may serve the Lord. Gary encourages us to ponder this thought and to consider the use of another Love language to widen our experience and knowledge of the Lord in our life. This book has encouraged me to also reflect on the Love Languages I use, how I use them and effects of this.

This is a very interesting book about how God can fill your "love tank". There are questions at the end of each chapter for reflection/discussion. It is a book that you will refer to again and again.
