I liked the idea and the world, but I wanted a lot more. The characters were interesting, but I wanted more from them. They were all somewhat undeveloped. And I found the story to drag at times, and be repetitive. I wanted to know more about why it was happening and who all the players were. And f course he grammar issues, formatting problems and typos were distracting. Overall a good idea, but not so great execution.

Thanks Netgalley for a copy to read and review and give my honest opinion. I liked the cover and the blurb caught my eye.

Lexa Blue... marked by a demon before she was even born because her parents sold her soul. For a soul will apparently get you a ton of money, and then the rags to riches story begins. Twenty years later Lexa is attending college even though she is marked and could be summoned by her demon at any moment. The only friend she has been close to is David, a three hundred year old warlock. After several chain of events Lexa is in the midst of the Apocalypse.

This was a fence book for me....I didn't hate it but I didn't love it. Writing out my review I had more negatives than positives but I'm still fencing because this had the ability to be a really creative idea even though I don't believe the author pulled it off.

So now for my positives...this was a unique idea in a genre that is taking off. So a lot of people would love to read it, and I feel the idea was solid. Not only was the idea solid but with some major fleshing out the characters would be fun. The book even started out great, I liked Lexa's character right away. She was solitary except for David, but she was likable.

My negatives... the characters were not fleshed out enough. I expected Lexa's full name, maybe a paragraph where she tells who she is, to kind of know her. David is just the friend...how? How does a young girl befriend a three hundred year old warlock. Deb? Cloud? Better descriptions of the characters. Ideas and themes did not go together... apocalyptic view, and Deb drawing dick pictures. Hmmm. Twenty year old virgin Lexa... she didn't think it would be fair to get close to someone only to have her demon take her....plenty of guys would help her with the V without needing a second thought. Male characters not staying true to character, I felt like they were male versions of Lexa. Everyone had the same humor. The only one not out of character was Josephine and she was a young child. The time line in the story stinked. I couldn't get a feel on Deb and when her pictures came true. Were the pictures coming sooner for the prophecy drawer. Nothing is really linked its more like we are all just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Does it follow the biblical timeline. I was a bit disappointed with the cliffhanger as well. At this point I could care less about her demon.

So this being a fence book....2.5 stars. I don't want the next part. Thanks Netgalley for allowing me this title.
