I am enjoying this series. Perfect cozy mystery. I love hearing about the B&B and meals served. Fun and light read with a mystery. The romance aspect is just the right amount for a cozy mystery, not too much. The female characters are very likeable. I look forward to the next in the series.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review which follows.
The book takes place on the Oregon coast with the primary characters being the two owners with a strong secondary character of their assistant. Other recurring characters are set up in the two romantic interests of the two women, although not having read any other books in the series I could be wrong in this understanding.

I enjoyed the fact information was provided and I was given the opportunity to solve the mystery on my own. There were enough "clues" peppered throughout the book that I had a reasonable opportunity to solve it, which I did easily well before the end.

Pacing seemed somewhat uneven, with parts of the book seeming to drag while others seemed to pull me through. I did find it difficult to picture some of the people and places in parts as there was more emphasis on telling the story than on allowing me to see the action unfold. This may have been compounded by the fact that I had not read any other books in the series.

The ghost element was minor and contributed to moving the story forward without becoming a secondary story-line of it's own. The ghost's laughter was consistent with what is apparently the ghosts only form of communication. While his presence did not spill over into becoming a central focus of the book, I was somewhat distracted by his manipulation of physical objects in an attempt to convey additional information. It had the effect of focusing more information on these details which, in turn, gave almost too much away as far as what the ghost was trying to impart.

On the negative side, the characters and situations seemed somewhat two dimensional. There are some elements here that would lend themselves to more robust development and it would be interesting to see if character development deepens in additional books within the series. It would also be interesting to see if further books in the series help characters develop more individuality in their own voices.

I would consider reading at least another book or two in the series to see if characters and surroundings become more fully developed which would help grow this into a more compelling series.

This is a pretty good B & B cozy mystery. Good solid characters, the ghost definitely adds to the flavor of storyline, so and overall entertaining quick read. The mystery aspect reads a little slow, but will certainly read the next in series.

Liza and Melanie are interesting characters and watching them investigate and find the murderer is enjoyable. The best part is their unexpected discovery near the end. #BeOurGhost #NetGalley

A fun cozy mystery with Melanie and her grandma Liza trying to solve the murder. Some interesting twists here and there, and a lot of red herrings to throw the reader off. The only thing I found a little odd is the laughing ghost. Creepy. Fun and quick to read this one, and would be a good choice if you have a rainy summer day and can curl up with a good book.Highly recommend this book and author.
