The Gift of Your Love is a short novella featuring a f/f romance.
While I did enjoy aspects of this book a fantasy is only as good as its word building. Given that this is a novella the author is constrained in terms of length I do wonder if the book had been longer would the author been better able to convey the story. I do have to applaud the author for a realistic portrayal of OCD.

I’m quite sad that I didn’t like this. It sounded really intriguing and started off well, with the tentacle grab and exciting opening and Forester’s awesome display of power. But after that, sadly, it didn’t quite work for me.

I’m not sure if it was the lack of much explanation around the world and the magic, or if it was just the characters and the dialogue. I never quite settled into the story and there were times when I really wasn’t sure what was going on, who was doing what or even whose pov we were following.

So despite a good idea and opening, sadly, overall this one just wasn’t for me.
