This was a brilliant read. As soon as I started reading this book I just knew I was going to love it. Highly recommended

Unfortunately this book was not for me, it was a bit slower than I would like and it just didn't hold my attention. I am sure other people will love it!

The saying goes, if something seems to be too good to be true, it most probably is. In this case that's a very true saying. Shelly finds the perfect husband, but soon that perfect husband starts to show his true colors.... recommended for anyone who doesn't really believe in true love.

This was a reasonably good book. It seemed similar to a number of other books about the same topic and wasn’t really anything new or shocking. Overall just an OK read that has been done many times before.

Easy read and a pretty good thriller. It was a little on the short and I wish there was a little more detail.

One thing I learned from many books like this, if it seems to good to be true, it usually is.

What a heartbreaking beginning “no one would miss me. I was a zero, nothing, zilch”

Shelly has been divorced from her ex husband Scott after he cheated on her. Since then she has focused on her career. She meets Eric on a dating site and he seems like the perfect man, generous, caring and too good to be true!!

I guess it’s true when they say “hindsight is a wonderful thing” I couldn’t help but think stop and think I about committing to someone you hardly know. At some time in our lives we have all probably jumped into a new relationship too soon and this is the classic reason why you shouldn’t.

A bit predictable,but nonetheless a very good dark psychological thriller that would make you think twice about going on dating sites to find the perfect match.

A great easy reading book you can devour in a day....a guilty pleasure gripping book about a man who appears to be perfect....but isn’t....a great read you can’t put down....slightly farfetched and utterly predictable but isn’t that the fun of it??

Shelly can’t believe her luck when she meets someone as perfect as Eric after her recent divorce and she falls for him hook, line and sinker. It didn’t take long for to discover that he wasn’t perfect, not perfect at all and that instead of married bliss she is living in a nightmare. Silly Shelly ignored so much, so many signs that all wasn’t as it seemed with this man that it became tedious. Definitely a page turner waiting to see how long it would take if she would eventually react to what was happening - I was gripped by that alone! Loved the cover and the style of writing was easy to read. So people - be aware of who you invite into your life - not everyone is as they initially present themselves is the moral of this story!

Divorce and not trusting another man in your life is a smart idea, but then when you do decide to trust someone, be careful and see all the signs. Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't

This book is a brilliant thriller. It's not very long though. I couldn't put it down. Shelley meets and marries Eric. She met him online and all her friends and family think he fantastic. He showers her with gifts and is always loving. Until their wedding night! Can she survive this drastic change in personality of the man she loves?

The Perfect Husband was an easy read to get into, I really felt for Shelly, it's a horrible situation to be in, an absolute page turner of a book, I really enjoyed it.

I almost gave up on this as it was so easy to see what was coming - and I find it hard to believe (and astonishing) that women still put up with this kind of thing. I know some folks are naive and trusting, which should be a good quality, but we hear too many stories about this kind of controlling behaviour (that of the husband) - red flags aplenty here but the main character, Shelly, does not see them, and so the situation continues to escalate. The reader cannot help but feel sorry for her, but also pretty angry and annoyed that she goes along with all the actions of her 'perfect' husband!

This book was one of those super easy reads.....its fast paced- quite short- and very predictable- but you know what....I it wasnt that bad! It wasn't a great read- it was ok to good.

I read it on a flight from Rome to Manchester- so it took perhaps 2.5 hours to read.

The dialogue is very simple- the conversations are not as flowy as perhaps they should be- and it's no big thinker- but it was a decent way to pass a few hours stuck on a plane as you didnt have to really think much to process the story.

The story revolves around Shelly and Eric- a couple who meet online and fall head over heels- Eric is the perfect gent- right up until they get married and his personality flips. He becomes abusive, controlling and obsessed with his wife.

Conversations felt forced at times- they just didn't seem like natural conversation- the way things were over explained- that got on my nerves a bit.....

Will I remember it in a months time? Probably not. But I dont regret reading it.

I was gripped by this book, literally. Read it in one day, i could not put it down. Such was my instant reaction to Shelly's plight.
When she meets Eric, the perfect courtship begins. As a reader my alarm bells grew but when true colours are finally shown and Shelly discovers Eric's true nature i was still left sickened and gasping. The story is fantastically weaved, flowing from one scene to the next with such panache and imagery i felt like i was watching the whole thing unfold. A powerful story that had tears running down my face in the end.
I can not imagine any woman reading this feeling deeply disturbed and moved as Shelly's story unfolds.

It always starts small, doesn't It? Little things, which aren't important or don't matter on their own, but when viewed all together and with the benefit of that glorious creature called hindsight...



The build-up was gradual and believable. Looking from the outside in, I wanted to shout at her for not seeing it, but it's so easy to "just do/say/not do/not say in order to keep the peace.



Ms Andrews did a fine job with such an awful subject.

Lord, please help me get through this review without completely offending anyone! The Perfect Husband is the story of 47 year-old divorcee, Shelly and the man she meets online, named Eric. Shelly is initially resistent to the idea of online dating, but then she mets Eric, who appears to be the abolute perfect man. As Eric charms Shelly, as well as, her friends Jackie and Bruce, Shelly is practically gushing over his attention, gifts, and so on. But as things qucikly progress in their relationship, Shelly finally starts to see that Eric is far from perfect. 

Shelly was an odd character, as was her best friend Jackie. The way the author characterized them, I would have thought they were in their 20's or 30's, definitely not women in their late 40's. I'm not sure why I got that vibe except maybe that they were somewhat immature and completely blind when it came to Eric and his charms. Very early on, I could already see creepy things about him, so it was somewhat frustrating how Shelly kept moving along with him at a marathon pace and Shelly kept going on and on how she wished her husband was as romantic as Eric. 

This was an enjoyable read and certainly had a lot of creepiness within the story to give it that psychological thriller feel, but it was just too predictable for me personally. I just felt as if this was something I had seen on Lifetime movies a million times about this perfect, amazing man that turns out to be an abusive psycho.

I really enjoyed The Perfect Husband, it portrays the subject of domestic abuse with these perpetrators who charm and then harm you. Cleverly written and although us as the reader can see these red flags for victims it’s not always easy to see, they feel special, want to be loved and it’s not always easy to leave.
I was hooked and I loved every minute of this book.

I haven't read anything by this author before and I really enjoyed this book. A tense pyschological thriller which kept me engrossed throughout the book. I empathised with Shelley in parts of the book but in others I was shouting at her not to be so stupid - I wanted to warn her and help her escape this man.

A fast, easy read which I found I zipped through quickly. I enjoyed the writing style of the author and will be looking out for more books by her.
