This book is Eric C. Anderson's second book of trilogy. It is set in current day with President Pence, taking over after Trump has a heart attack. It's Pence's last days in office as CHuck Schumer is getting inaugurated within a day or so. ISIS is planning a global attack on the inauguration and two US military men try to figure out what is happening. Story is about ISIS, the intelligence community and all the political ramifications with all the players involved. It's not an easy read.

The editing needs a good run through on punctuation and capitalization. The material was full but very long. It was an experience to read.

This is an exciting story, marred by the style of writing. The extreme and repeated coverage of philosophy of Islam, combined with pretentious wording makes for a slow and difficult read. The interactions between the principles are handled well and contributed to appreciation of the story. The novel works from current events to a future for the United States that is not good. The book seems to be an argument for recognizing the danger of Islamic Fundamentalists.

This book is a treasure trove of facts: dates, places, strategies (both failed and successful), and great or notorious leaders on both sides. The suspense builds slowly, but when it kicks in, it does so in such a gripping fashion that I'm writing this review at 3:10am, unable to have shut the Kindle down and just gone to sleep without reaching the end. Looks like I'll be sleeping in again tomorrow! One of the best piece of fictional political intrigue that I've read in ages, and so it comes highly recommended.
