In February of 2017, I had the awesome opportunity to be part of the BookSparks Wintervention Book Tour and I read book 1 of this awesome series by Christine Nolfi entitled Sweet Lake.  Unfortunately, I missed out on book 2 in the series, The Comfort of Secrets, but I'm really happy to share with you book 3, The Season of Silver Linings. All of these books are part of Ms. Nolfi's trilogy, the Sweet Lake Series.

The Season of Silver Linings can be read as a stand alone, but in my opinion, you should probably start with book 1 of the series so you can understand all the characters. (I read all the reviews for book 2 since I didn't have a chance to read it.)

I really enjoyed reading about the main characters - the owners of the historic Wayfair Inn in Sweet Lake, Ohio - Jada, Linnie and Cat. The three are such good friends - the kind of friends who can say and do anything—nothing is off limits with them.

Linnie is getting married and Cat is a newlywed so they are both focused on other things.  The Season of Silver Linings focuses on Jada Brooks, who is the pastry chef at the Wayfair Inn. Jada is in a "friendship growing into a possible relationship" with Philip Kettering, but she's hesitant because he was known as being wild back in their old school days. She's also working through some

I also liked the secondary characters - the group of women called the Sirens - whose responsibility it is to take people under their wing and be responsible for them.  The ladies are very interesting characters who add so much intrigue and humor to the story.

What I really appreciate about Ms. Nolfi's writing is that she writes about real life stuff - this story touches on topics such as single parenting, troubled youth, child abuse, mental illness and suicide.  This book in particular and the whole series overall shares a heartwarming story that will melt the hearts of readers. The story is very well written and I found the book hard to put down because each page keeps readers wondering what will happen next.

I received an advanced readers digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to provide a positive review and this affected neither my opinion of the book, nor the content of my review!! Thank you NetGalley!

With Linnie about to be married and Cat a blissful newlywed it is now Jada's turn. The three of them run the Wafair Inn and Jada is seeing Philip, but cautiously, his ex wife committed suicide and he has a young daughter, so it is not a relationship to be rushed into....... there are also the secrets from Jada's own past!

Great to be back with the trio for the third book....I have loved all of them and this is no exception! They are lovely characters and the book has a great mix of romance, storyline and secrets

The focus of this third book in the popular Sweet Lake Series is on Jada Brooks who is a pastry chef at the Wayfair Inn that she restored along with her friends Linnie and Cat. Linnie is getting married and Cat is a newlywed and they are both focused on other things. Jada is in a relationship of sorts with Philip Kettering. She is reluctant to take the relationship to the next level as Philip was kind of wild one in their school days. Philip has a young daughter that Jada has really gotten attached to and vice versa.
Phillip's deceased wife committed suicide and Jada was with her and she carries the guilt of not being able to save her.

An elderly woman arrives at the Inn asking a lot of questions about Jada and this puts Jada on edge as she does not know what the woman is after and she would rather keep the past in the past. Questions on both sides culminated in answers that Jada never expected.

I read the first in the series but not the second, which is ok because they are all stand-alone novels. I enjoyed both of the books I read, the characters are believable and the friendship of the three friends is a sweet thing to behold. A series that has the reader wanting to read more about each of the women portrayed. I think if you love a book that is a sweet charming read, then this series is for you for sure!

The Season of Silver Linings is a great addition to a great series. Loved the plot and the well developed characters. I recommend to fans of romance.

I loved this book as much as the other two. A super ending to a wonderful series. I'm sad to see it end. Jada is such a stand up girl and assumes so much on herself which I can so relate to.

Although I am still a newer reader of Christine Nolfi, I can honestly say that her books have quickly become a favorite of mine, and she definitely has a lifelong fan.

Jada’s book was one I have been impatiently waiting for, and was not disappointed! The book was extremely well written, and focuses on friendship, family, and important life lessons. I couldn’t put this down, and honestly will be re-reading it as soon as I can. It can be read as a stand-alone but I would highly recommend reading the first two books in the series first.

** I have received an Arc for a honest review!! **

This is the 3rd book in the A Sweet Lake series. What a great addition to the series!! Loved it as much as the first two! It has love, friendship, suspense, and family.

Story takes place in Sweet Lake, Ohio. Cat, Linnie, and Jada are best friends, co- manages Wayfair Inn. Book 3 is about Jada. She works through some deep feelings. She is hardworking. Linnie is distracted by her upcoming wedding. Cat, a newly wed is distracted by her new husband.

I absolutely love the small town charm!

Highly recommend!! Loved it and you will too!

Oh, those Sirens. They are always having their noses in each other and anyone else that crosses their paths business. Yet, they have the biggest, most open, and well-meaning hearts ever. In The Season of Silver Linings we find them planning Linnie’s wedding to Daniel and matchmaking Jada and Phillip.

The wedding plan was difficult. I am not sure she meant to be but Linnie wasn’t an easy bride and she was a very busy bride who seemed to not be able to make a decision to save her life but when she finally did make a decision nothing could sway her. I loved seeing Fancy, Phillip’s young daughter, push her boundaries, make things interesting, and put her own twist on being the flower girl. The fashion show of picking out her outfit was amazing and so heartwarming. These ladies dote on her but still manage to keep her in control, most of the time.

The matchmaking of Phillip and Jada was difficult. Phillip is recently widowed after his wife committed suicide leaving him as a single dad to a young, precocious little girl. The wife, Bodi, was a friend of Jada’s. There is so much more to this story but you need to read the story to learn the rest. But this friendship, potential relationship, was fun to watch develop. To see them struggle with the past, move forward towards their future, and find out if they can be more than friends to each other. While I never like to some anyone struggle but I liked that Jada was struggling. She didn’t just jump into a relationship without having her eyes open and understanding that what could happen with her and Phillip would also affect Fancy.

Christine Nolfi has an amazing series of books and The Season of Silver Linings in the perfect continuation of the story. While this is part of a series, the characters will be familiar but each book has a beginning and an ending. There isn’t a cliffhanger, there isn’t a need to know what happens in the other books before I read this one. Each book can be read alone.

It is always a pleasant surprise to discover an author who is new to me. Even though The Season of Silver Linings is part of the Sweet Lake series, I was still able to enjoy it as a stand-alone novel. This story revolves around Jade, so I look forward to catching up on the stories of Linney and Cat in the earlier novels. The author skillfully blended together the ingredients of romance, suspense, diversity, small-town life, a precocious child and quirky characters. Thanks to NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing for the advance read.

I thought that everything was done so nicely in this last book in the 'Sweet Lake' series. There is a bit more scene and character exploration in this one; which I really enjoyed.

Full of interesting and entertaining characters, this was an enjoyable read. This was the third book in the series, but the author does an excellent job of weaving in enough background information that keeps a new reader, such as myself, from feeling lost.
Jada is a strong character who seems to take on everything for everyone, putting herself last in line. She has an growing relationship with the precocious Fancy, and an admiration for the strides her father, Phillip has made in his life. The relationship has sparks, but an incident in the past holds her back, her guilt for her part is strong. When an older lady shows up with questions, can she help unravel the mystery and help Jada move forward in her own life?
The Sirens were a fun addition, and I loved the relationship Jada, Cat, and Linnie have. The story was well-written, and I would love to take a visit to the inn.
I recommend this novel, and, if you can read the first two as well, all the better.

This was a fun trip back to Sweet Lake, Ohio, to see the goings on at the Wayfair Inn and to see what the Sweet Lake Sirens are up to. This is a group of eccentric middle age and up ladies who get together to spread kindness and do a little matchmaking. Wayfair Inn co-owner Linnie Wayfair is anxiously getting ready for her wedding to Daniel Kettering and business partner, Cat is in the honeymoon phase of her new marriage. Jada, another business partner, is having to pick up the slack, taking over managerial duties in addition to her bakery job in the kitchen along with her other duties. In the past, Daniel had been helping his brother Philip with his daughter Fancy, preparing meals and babysitting, but with his wedding details, he hasn't been able to; so Jada is now taking meals to Philip and Fancy. On top of being stretched thin, a guest at the inn is interested in baking lessons from Jada. Millicent really has an ulterior motive for spending time with Jada-she wants information about events that happened seven years ago and involved Philip's deceased wife, Bodi.
Since Jada and Philip are spending more time together, they are developing an attraction but there are issues that prevent it from going beyond friendship-at least on Jada's part. She and Bodi were friends and she feels a little guilty because of her feelings for Philip. The Sirens are doing their best to make sure that the two get together and Fancy loves Jada as Jada loves Fancy. But there is a deeper story that needs to come out before things can be go further. I found the core of this hidden story was quite a surprise that I didn't see coming. This is a deep story that covers overcoming fears, guilt, the past and moving forward to see the silver lining behind loss-the love and joy that is found.

This is the 3rd in the Sweet Lake series but certainly could be a stand alone (but why would you want to miss the first 2???) and I so love Christine Nolfi's writing.
The Sirens are just as funny and endearing (and nosey!) as ever. I loved the developing relationship between Jada, the Wayfair Inn chef, and the adorable little girl, Fancy, who is bigger than life. The writing is solid, the plot interesting and the characters are varied and so well developed, and loved the way they intertwined with each other and the way written it made me want to know them and care about them. The story is about love, friends, family and forgiveness. This gets a 5 star but only because I can't go higher!

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

The Season Of Silver Linings is the third book of The Sweet Lake series and is my favorite of them! I enjoyed the first two, but this book ties everything together.
Linnie, Jada and Cat have all worked together to restore the Wayside Inn to its original beauty. From renting rooms to their wonderful restaurant within, you'll feel like you're there with these three friends along with the special men in their lives. Throw the Sirens into the mix, a group of magical and mystical woman and you're in for a treat.
Thank you to NetGalley, Lake Union Publishing and Christine Nolfi. This book definitely deserves 5 stars for being such a wonderful reading experience.

A delightful, contemporary story of friendships, love, loss and life and it all happens at the Wayfair Inn where Jada and her friends have refurbished and run it together. I love the characters, I was enmeshed in the storytelling of the author who weaves such a gorgeous story, pulls you in easily, and I felt part of the story. This is Book 3 in the series, but the author makes sure to catch you up, and you'll want to go back and read them! I'm so impressed how brilliantly the emotions come through and how quickly I was a part of the story. Thank you for this beautiful story! It's best served in the coziest reading spot where there are no interruptions ♡ you'll be drawn right in. ENJOY! 5 stars. My Highest recommendations. ☆☆☆☆☆

I was so glad to return to the Sweet Lake universe in this, the third book of the series.

The Sirens are back at it again! The ladies are always such interesting characters - even if they are secondary characters, they still add so much intrigue and humor.

My favorite character in this book is definitely Fancy. She is a little breath of sunshine in wveryone’s life.

This book has turns that I didn’t expect as well as enough drama to keep my interest. Christine Nolfi is amazing!

So happy to be traveling back to Sweet Lakes to continue the story and learn more about Jada, the infamous pastry chef and one of the lovely ladies/best friends running the beautiful Wayfair Inn. She is finally venturing into dating her longtime friend Philip who seem to have a bond that is long standing as they have known each other for most of their lives.

The Sirens sense something approaching as March 13th rolls around and Jada and Philip attempt to not dwell on the past for the sake of Philips daughter.

When a mysterious historian checks in for an unknown amount of time and begins probing Jada with questions she is unsure of what to make of it. She has tried to not dwell on the past but her guilt for what has happened sits heavy on her. What is this women looking to achieve?

This book gave me all the feels. It's quite a tear jerker, what with the grief, coming to terms with the loss of a young troubled mother and having a feisty little girl to raise. It doesn't help that everyone knows about everyone in this small town. I got an eARC off of NetGalley hoping for a light read but it gave me an insight into family, friends, loss and love.

It's time for another trip to Sweet Lake and the Wayfair Inn - where love can be found with a little help from the Sirens.

This installment focuses primarily on Jada and her relationship with Philip - it may start off as just friends but it isn't going to stay that way for long and it will not be an easy road as they both have baggage tied to his first wife, Bodi, but for different reasons. I felt for Jada in many respects. Her partners in the Inn have gotten married (or are getting married in Linnie's case) and aren't focusing on their jobs but rather letting Jada shoulder the load. I don't want to say that Linnie and Cat are selfish, but in a way they are. But who could blame them as they are caught up in love and a new beginning in their lives.

This book has a few surprises too, so don't think it is will be a light read. I was quite surprised at a few turns of events and amazed at how in tune the Sirens are in town are and how they seem to know the right thing to say, do, or give for each situation. But the Sirens do take care of their own and I really enjoyed that kinship between the women.

Possibly a character that almost stole the show is Fancy. She is Philip's daughter and she is quite precocious. She may be about 6, but she knows what she wants and I'm actually surprised at how much she is spoiled and given whatever she wants even if it isn't the best for her.

While this book is best read after the first two in the series, you could read this on its own and there are enough details to fill in most of the gaps. I say this too because it has been awhile since I read the first two books so I appreciated the extra background information to remind me of each character and their situation.

I just wish the book had given us the recipe for the rosemary cookies mentioned. They sounded delicious.
