YOU ARE NOT A ROCK by Mark Freeman is "A Step-by-Step Guide to Better Mental Health (for Humans)" written by a mental health coach who has experienced mental illness himself. Unfortunately, I found the eBook preview to be relatively difficult to navigate. Freeman does suggest several exercises, but I think that other titles dealing, for example, with the specifics of mindfulness would be more useful and of greater interest to readers.

I really enjoyed this book. Freeman's approach to how we think and react to life is quite refreshing.

"if you want to improve your mental health, it won't happen through wanting to avoid uncertainty, anxiety, and all of the other feelings you don't like. It'll happen by learning how to have those experiences."

Freeman's book is not very sophisticated but his approach to being more human is practical and rational. It is something EVERYONE can do, and by following his ACT approach as a form of therapy, you learn basic coping behaviors to a lot of issues that once hindered you.
