This was a great story with amazing detective work. If you like detective stories then this book is definitely for you!

What happens when the drug cartel takes over a quiet little shipping company to move it's drugs, money, weapons and illegals. This is very well written with engaging characters. The narration keeps pace with the action and characterisation. Didn't take me long to read through it as I was engaged from the beginning.

in Crime Interrupted, Chuck Morgan presents his audience an interesting crime story on a powerful and violent Mexican cartel trying to set up an operation in Durango, Colorado, a small town where normally nothing much happens. Money laundering, smuggling drugs, and human trafficking are executed successfully from a warehouse until a boy gets beaten and dumped nearby. It's up to the local sheriff, supported by Senior Agent Buck Taylor from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. He is the man for the job. He is talented, has a network in circles like the FBI, the DEA, and ICE, and a moral compass that motivates him to go for the extra mile, though missing his own children while on duty.

A massive raid on the warehouse is being prepared and executed. Unlike other thrillers, the narrative is sequential and descriptive. Morgan admits he is a storyteller, who lets his characters do the job. The author paints Buck Taylor as a real human, leaving enough open for a sequel to this storyline.

I very much enjoyed this Buck Taylor book. I was drawn in from the beginning and felt the characters were interesting. The pace was fast and I enjoy that in a book. Nothing long and drawn out in this story. I'm looking forward to the rest of the Buck Taylor series and learning more about Buck and how he became to be the man he is.

I just love when an author gives us an MC that is mature both emotionally and age-wise. Here we get both. Buck Taylor is 58 years old and he is smart, charming, and oh-so-human. I love that! He is a fabulous character that I wanted to be friends with instantly.
The story is suspenseful and kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. This was truly a pleasure to read...it was everything a book should be.

#CrimeInterrupted #NetGalley I tried so hard to read this but found it near impossible. It has a great premise but it really is just a lot of short sentences put together without any flow, as follows ‘ Buck hung up from the Director and speed dialed Hank Clancy.  Hank was the Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Denver Office.  Buck had worked with Hank on several occasions and they seemed to hit it off.  Hank was a hardnosed, by the book agent and Buck knew if he could convince Hank of what they had, he would have no trouble with the others he needed involved. Hank answered his phone on the second ring. “I always hate it when your name pops up on my caller ID.  It’s never good.  How the hell are you Buck?” ‘.......I could almost hear Green eggs and Ham running through my head as it has the same cadence.......sorry I just didn’t like it at all,
