Bishop by Sawyer Bennett is a good fit for readers looking for a fast-paced, lighthearted romance with a focus on unexpected relationships and the challenges of balancing personal desires with professional commitments.

I love hockey series and Sawyer Bennett did a nice job starting a new one. Bishop will suck you in and have you ready to read the rest of the series.

4.5 stars — What a great start to a new series! I haven’t even finished all of the Cold Fury books, but I’m down with these Vengeance boys.

I actually started the audio first, and honestly I was feeling bummed because it didn’t seem like Bishop was my kind of hero. But either my mood changed, or the narrator just wasn’t for me, so if you feel similarly with the audio give reading a try.

Bishop was actually surprisingly sweet and considerate. I mean, don’t get me wrong, that boy was DIRTY with all caps! All the wonderful sexy talk, and it worked for him. But he was so much more than I was expecting. I think I was expecting more of a player like Erik, but I didn’t necessarily get that vibe. Sure, definitely a fan of the sexy times, but not necessarily opposed to commitment. I loved the relationship he had with Dax (though we didn’t get to see much), and I ADORED his relationship with his Mom. It was nice to have a fairly normal hero, without damage or hangups. The tension comes from the situation they create.

And honestly? Brooke wasn’t quite what I was expecting either! I think since the blurb mentions her introducing him as the fiancé, I had a different expectation of her. But she was actually a solid heroine with a huge heart. I kind of wish we could have seen her interacting with her father more, what with that being the reason she even moved to Phoenix. But I loved the way she could be wary, but still adventurous. I appreciated that she was cautious with her feelings, but not so much so that it was annoying.

And obviously they were absolute fire with one another. They had so much chemistry, even from the first steamy scenes that were a bit more impersonal. I loved watching their relationship grow throughout the deception, until it wasn’t much of a deception anymore.

Really loved being introduced to quite a few of the other hockey guys, and I’m intrigued by so many of their stories. The hockey representation actually felt really authentic, which is soooooo refreshing.

The only thing I was meh on was the whole Nanette thing. It played too large a part for me. I get why it was there, to help add even more tension, but it was a bit of a distraction.

Definitely looking forward to continuing with this series!

Oh dang Bishop is a hot hockey player and a mama's boy! Sold! Brooke lands her a hot one with her lies, but the fact he rolls with it makes him so much hotter. Loved the tie-in with his coach's daughter as his girl. The coach's threats were so good.

When Sawyer Bennett starts a new series you stay up all night reading! This one seems to be modeled after a new expansion team. You will love Bishop and Brooke! And the hockey is first rate. Sawyer really knows how to weave that into the story. If you loved her other hockey series, I think you'll love this one more. The Arizona Vengeance team will steam up the pages. I'm definitely looking forward to more! 4 stars

I am hooked on the Arizona Vengeance series. Bishop hooked me in and I've now preordered all the rest of the series.

When Bishop has a one night stand, the last thing he expects is to find that one night stand working for his new hockey team. He also never expects her to be the coach’s daughter. Oops. So when they get caught in a sexy embrace, Brooke says the first thing that comes to mind...that they are engaged. Not wanting to get off on the wrong foot with his new team, Bishop agreed to play along.

This is a great start to another series. Hooray for fake engagements! I’m sure that I’ve read this trope before but I can’t think of any books off the top of my head. Bishop was a very likable guy and he and Brooke had great chemistry, which is good because it was in their best interests to keep up the engagement premise.

By the time this book was over, we met a bunch of new characters and just like the Cold Fury series, I couldn't wait to meet the rest of the team!

I can't believe I waited so long to read Bishop! It's everything I look for in a hockey romance, a perfect blend of hockey and two people falling in love. Sawyer Bennett really knocks this out of the park, giving life to Bishop, the hockey player, and Bishop the man who has a life-changing one night stand that figuratively slaps him in the face the next morning.

Brooke and Bishop are a wonderful couple that are not only sexy as can be but also have an incredible amount of respect for each other. Bishop is an alpha all the way, but may fall into the newly minted "gamma" male category. Even when Brooke takes charge in an awkward moment involving her father sending all of them into a tailspin, it's Bishop who leads the way to happily ever after.

I enjoyed both main characters. Brooke is initially described (from Bishop's POV) as aloof and independent. While the independent Brooke never disappears, the aloofness rolls into a vulnerability that makes her so likable and perfect for Bishop. Honestly, I read this book in about one setting, making a case of insomnia much more bearable.

Bishop (the book) is an intro into Bennett's new hockey series and I loved how she paralleled that with a brand new hockey team, a somewhat disguised version of the Vegas Golden Knights. Bennett knows her hockey and it shows. There's also an introduction of various Vengeance players that have the lead in future books in the series and Bennett left just enough bread crumbs to lead me to them.

I love a good sports romance and this book was just that. I was excited to see this is a series because I really enjoyed the authors writing style. I could not put thus down. It had the right amount of sexy! Bishop and Brooke had great chemistry and I always love a HEA.

Unfortunately, I have chosen not to finish and review this title. I was not able to connect with it, and instead of finishing a title I was not connecting with, I have chosen to move on to another title.
Again, I appreciate the opportunity and look forward to the next title.

What an amazing honest genuine love story. Even though it started out with a lie this was by far the most honest to goodness love story ever. The only lie in this whole relationship was the first one told to Brook's dad that they were dating for a while and they were engaged. From there their relationship took root. They were completely at ease with each other. Sure it started out as a lie but they enjoyed being with each other. Yes the sex was great from the start. Both thought it was a one night stand and the best they ever had. But soon it became more than just sex. Brooke actually wanted to get to know Bishop and vice versa. Aside from a psycho friend from New York Brooke and Bishop were able to build a relationship together. This truly was an honest to goodness love story. There were no expectations to live up to so they got to know one another and realize that there was something there. Something to build on. They enjoyed being with one another and not only in the bedroom, which might I add were some really hot scenes. They had chemistry but so much more. The didn't build walls around their feelings they were completely at ease with each other and enjoyed getting to know each other.

I don't know much about hockey but Sawyer Bennett has made me a fan. Her books are hot hot hot and before you know it you are a fan of whatever sport she is writing about. Bishop is the first in a new series and I cannot wait for more.

Meet the Arizona Vengeance, hockey’s hottest new team where Bishop Scott, co-captain King. Bishop is hype to start the new season but first some fun. He went out looking for a fun night and he found his match … a smoking hot girl looking for a night of anonymous, unforgettable, no-strings-attached sex. The last place Bishop thought he would see her again was in the office of head coach where they picked up right where they left off – mauling each other. Unfortunately, they were interrupted by said coach where she proceeds to introduced Bishop to her father as her new fiancé … YIKES!
Love Bishop and Brooke love story – down and dirty fake relationship blossomed into something so romantic Super cute, sexy, fun. Enjoyable read!

I'm waffling between 3.75 stars and 4 stars. Bishop really had a great story and I loved the added drama, it didn't seem forced, but the end seemed a little too quick for me. Bishop and Brooke were an adorable couple. The actually reminded me a lot of Meredith and Derek from Grey's Anatomy in the way they met. They had fantastic chemistry and I loved how they reacted to one another. I look forward to getting to know other players on the team. Also, I want a Tacker book like now!

This was a nice twist on the fake fiancee trope. I really like this expansion team that Me Bennett had created and I look forward to several more players getting their HEAs. Bishop and Brooke are great together and were never boring. I liked their open communication and steamy sexy times. I received a copy of this book from Net Galley and am voluntarily leaving this review.

This was the first book I've read by this author and the first in this series and I enjoyed it. This book sets the scene for the the other "players" in this series and it looks like a fun bunch. The plot is entertaining and the H & h connection has chemistry. I'm looking forward to future books in this series! 4 stars
