I'll admit it.....I haven't read any of Sawyer Bennett's hockey books and now I'm wondering WTH I was waiting for! A fun, sexy story, Bishop is the start to Bennett's newest hockey series, Arizona Vengeance. With a fun cast of characters, this series is shaping up to be a great one.

I loved Bishop and Brooke. They clicked from the start and their chemistry jumped off the pages. Their fake relationship was cute but it was pretty evident that these two were well beyond "fake" early on. They just jelled and I loved how well they played off of one another. Their fun, flirty relationship was perfectly written. There's a bit of drama with Brooke's old "friend" but this story is definitely light on the angst. I can't wait to read the next books in the series!

I love this book. It caught my attention from the first page and I did not want to put it down! Bishop and Brooke start a fake relationship after being caught by her dad but that changes very quickly. Loved this book and can't wait for the next in the series!!

As the first book in a new series, this has huge potential to draw in readers like the Cold Fury series did. The characters are engaging. The story is well written and developed.

First of all, who doesn't like a hot hockey player, especially a single one looking for a one night stand. No strings. Especially when you're a girl in a new town, new job and no friends yet. One night stand commences and it's the best of both of their lives. Oh well. Time to move on, right? Wrong.

When Brooke and Bishop get caught canoodling, by her dad and his coach of all people, the lies start to fly. How they managed to keep their story straight was a true testament to their acting abilities. Then when they started telling people about the scheme you knew something bad was going to bite them in the butt. Enter "friend" from NY Nanette.

Nanette brings with her dark clouds of trouble. Brooke is too nice to call her out on her BS, but after several days of it taking its toll on her, Bishop steps in and lays down the law. FYI the woman is out of her mind psycho crazy. She is vindictive and calculating and it remains to be seen if she will pay for any of her sins.

Overall, I truly enjoyed this story. It grabbed my attention and kept my interest. My only complaint was how it ended. Yes it's a HEA, but I felt like I must have fallen asleep or something because it was an abrupt ending. I thought we would see them go back to Phoenix or get engaged or something to tie the story together at the end. But nope, it just ended in NY. Hopefully the next book will pick up where this one left off.

Wow! What a great start to a new sports romance series!
I am a huge fan of Sawyer Bennett and was so happy to get to read this book.
Bishop is everything a hot hockey player is supposed to be. And I love that he's also sweet and kind. Don't even get me started on his relationship with his Mom. Can anyone say Awww!?
Brooke is lovely and sweet too and the way she takes care of her Dad just stole my heart.
The story line was cute, if a little predictable. I knew there was no way Brooke and Bishop were fooling anyone.
But this book is highly entertaining and sexy too.
The ending was a surprise to me because the runner wasn't who I thought it would be.
I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in this series. Definitely looking forward to more from the Arizona Vengeance!

Even though this is not my favorite Sawyer Bennett book, I am still going to give this book 4 stars. I am so in love with Sawyer's Cold Fury series that I thought that I would like her Arizona Vengeance books. I was so wrong. I think that my issue was that I was unable to connect with the storyline. The characters were great! But I wanted Cold Fury and I didn't get it. So for me, this was not a WIN. But Sawyer Bennett's writing was exactly what I expected. If you are a fan of her's, try Bishop and see if this new series is for you...

Great fake boyfriend trope.
I really liked these two.
Not my favorite S.B. book, but I enjoyed the growing love story. I didn't get the need to lie to Brooke's dad. Since it was done, it was really hard to go back on their story.
Brooke's dad is the coach & really gruff.
Bishop's been traded to the expansion team. He really needs to make a good impression and show what he can do. He never expected Brooke in his life. Brooke came to Arizona to be with her dad after her mom passes away.
This can be a standalone. I haven't read the Cold Fury books & was not lost at all reading this one.
Bishop and Brooke are likable and together make a great couple-even when they're faking it (or are they?).

Bishop was a fabulous beginning to a new series I am so excited about! Bishop and Brooke start the series off with some serious heat and a fake relationship. This was one of the best fake relationship books I have read. The story wasn't drama ridden nor was it one where they ignored their mutual passion. Brooke and Bishop burnt up the sheets and enjoyed each others company. It made it an easy read as well as volcanic.

This book gives us a look at characters I can't wait to see in future books. They all have such diverse personalities and will make for a fantastic series. I loved this book and can't wait to get into more!

BISHOP - Sawyer Bennett

#1 in the Arizona Vengeance sports romance series

HOT! - 4 stars

Plot - 4 stars - Bishop isn't too happy with his job on an expansion team, but he has the best one-night stand of his life the night before he starts his new job. Unbeknownst to both of them, that hook-up turns out to be with someone closely connected to his new team. Oops.

Writing - 4 stars - I'm always hooked right from the first page with Bennett's writing. This time she jumps in with both feet, going right to the hot and heavy sex scene. From there, I was hooked.

Characters - 4 stars - Bishop Scott is one of the top hockey players on this new team, so he's strong, supremely confident, and alpha. He's a little much for me, but Brooke seems to like his control issues. She is also an independent woman with a good career, plus she has a heart of gold, always helping other people and trying to do the right thing.

Title - 4 stars - The title goes along with the other hockey romances from Bennett--the first name of the main character. Pretty self-explanatory.

Cover - 4 stars - This hot guy is very representative of how I imagine Bishop to look. Cocky, cute, and aggressive.

Overview - 4 stars - I liked this very much. Bishop seemed a little over-the-top aggressive at first, and I wasn't a fan. But being with Brooke softened him, and as we got to know him, we realized what a great guy he really is. Meeting his mother really solidified his strong and warm character. Brooke is an interesting mix of sweet and strongly sexual. She's a good match for Bishop. The story was cute and almost farcical, but it was fun to watch them struggle to maintain the story. Definitely a good start to what promises to be another winning series.

Hockey romances are the best and Sawyer Bennett is a queen. This is the first in the spinoff series from the Carolina Fury series Bennett wrote. Here we have another playboy hockey player who meets a woman, hooks up with her and then scandal ensues. This time the scandal is the woman is the coach's daughter. SCANDAL! What starts as a fake relationship to appease Daddy, grows into a warm and loving relationship, full of sexiness and actual friendship. Such a nice twist on the insta-love trope. Definitely a welcome addition to the hockey romance world.

What a way to start this new hockey series..... with a BANG!!! What do you get when you mix a hot playboy hockey player and a gorgeous New York transplant whose working for the new hockey team? A fun, sexy quick read you can't put down. What happens when a one-night stand turns into so much more? You get Bishop and Brooke trying to maneuver through the lies of a relationship, engagement and eventually realizing there is so much more between them. If you loved the Cold Fury series you'll definitely want to grab this new series!

I loved this! Sawyer does such a great job of adding those little hockey phrases and details that you know she’s done extensive research to make it all seem like she’s really telling someone’s story. And, wow, is Bishop and Brooke’s a good one! A fake fiancé that happens to be a famous hockey player? What can go wrong with that? A one-night stand might turn into something more for Bishop and Brooke. Must be fate.
5 stars!!

(3.5-3.75 STARS)

TBH I was a bit skeptical about starting this series. I enjoyed Ms. Bennett’s CAROLINA COLD FURY series and my first though was “been there, done that.” While I could see similarities between both series, I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed BISHOP. I wasn’t too keen on how far they took the fake fiancé’ aspect of their relationship. Once that was exposed I wanted more and they definitely deserves an epilogue. Being able to look past my peeves, BISHOP was a strong start to the series and a great escape to get your mind of things for a while.

I enjoyed reading Bishop from Sawyer Bennett. Bishop is a hockey player who has moved from New York to Phoenix to play for the Arizona Vengence. The night before he is set to start training camp, he meets Brooke and they end up spending the night together. Low and behold the next day they meet up at the arena and Bishop finds out that Brooke is the coach's daughter. Brooke panics when her father finds her in a compromising position with Bishop and says they are engaged. Bishop goes along with Brooke's plan and their romantic journey begins.
I enjoyed the chemistry between the two characters and what started as a fake relationship flourishes to be a beautiful love story.

WHY HELLO HOCKEY PLAYERS!

Bishop was a great starter for the Arizona Vengeance series. In it, you will meet the man on the cover: Bishop. He's excited to be on this team and doesn't waste any time getting to know the night life of this new city. After an amazingly hot, seductive, and addicting nights of his life, aka his own night stand, well.. he's in for the shock of his life. DUN DUN DUN!

His one night was with the one girl who is completely off limits, the coaches daughter. Brooke comes to her father's side after quitting her life, career, and basically everything else to be in Arizona. Of course, her one night stand shocked her too because it changed her life. It made Arizona a heck of a lot better than it was before.

Of course, things kind of get out of hand when her dad walks in on them kissing. Then Brooke comes up with this whole plan about them being engaged. Again, a bit quick and all because wouldn't her dad know if she was dating someone or not? If not, meh.. he doesn't pay enough attention. However, I also wanted to see how this was all going to play it. Even if it will end up being predictable.

Now the romance was so good! I loved it - mostly because I just loved Bishop and Brooke. Their love story was so fast paced that I had to slow down before I ended up missing something important. I also really enjoyed how this book ended because I can't wait to dive into the second book now!

Great 4.5 star read

Bishop is the first book I the new series Arizona Vengeance. When I saw it I knew I had to get my hands on it. I love Sawyer Bennett. She is a great author with good laughs and lovable alpha men. This book was so good I was sucked in and let me tell you it isn’t hard when it comes to hockey romance. I love it. It’s not hard to like this book.

Bishop is a new transplant to the Phoenix. He is one of the newest members of the Arizona Vengeance hockey team. The brand new expansion team. His former team didn't keep him because he was highly paid. Now he has a new team and a new coach that is a hard as nails tough. When he lands in town and at a local bar he sees a woman that intrigues him. After she wants nothing to do with another gentleman Bishop watches and waits and listens. She is different than other women.

Brooke is now in Arizona, following her father after a tragedy and her father needing a life change. She is quitting her job to go be with him. Now, Brooke, I really liked her. She was loving and had a heart of gold. She was sassy and a dirty dirty girl. A girl after my own heart.

Their progression was fast but they had that connection and when they don’t realize it things change. I liked reading it. It started out not so innocent and getting caught by her father/his coach. So without thinking she blurts out they engaged. They have great chemistry and they are hot hot hot.

Sawyer Bennett did great with this book and creating a new set of players and a new series as I said. She is typically a one-click author for me. The plot was good as well as the writing and the pace. The only thing I wish I could have had was a bit more hockey. There is just enough romance and drama to keep it well balanced. I loved Bishop’s teammates and friends. Even Erik. His mother was great and I loved Coach Perron as Brooke’s dad. She really saved him but did she make it worse? Even though she was just trying to help. I even liked when the nasty so-called friends Nanette made an appearance. She brought a little bit of drama. OK, she brought quite a bit of drama that I did not see coming and some I did. Loved Blue the flight attendant. SHe was great.

Bishop is truly a great man, he stands by Brooke without fail and this was a great way to kick off the series. I look forward to more in this series. I will be waiting not so patiently. This book made me so excited for the next hockey season coming this fall. Bring on the boys of winter.

Bishop and Brooke are to die for! I cannot get enough of them and the team! Sawyer always does hockey right!

I loved how this book is starting the new series off! There is the romance and the heat! My god, the heat! There is enough to melt the ice in the arena! There was drama in the best of ways. Also getting a glimpse into the other players and what we can look forward to in the next books!!!

Brooke is starting out in her new career in Arizona and decides to go out and meet a new co-worker and is stood-up. Bishop comes to the rescue when a guy gets a little too forward at the bar and they hit it off. And by hit it off, I mean burn up the pages with a steamy one night stand.

Bishop is getting ready to start the new season with the new franchise team, the Arizona Vengeance, and it hoping to make a great impact and play some killer hockey. He has high hopes for his new team and wants nothing more than to go after the cup!

The last thing either of them expected was to walk into work the next day and see each other again - Bishop as the player and Brooke as the "boss". Her father, the teams coach, walks in and finds them in a intimate embrace and Brooke flubs that they are dating... no, not just dating... but ENGAGED! Bishop decides to go along with it and they create this story of how they met and their fairy tale romance... much to others chagrin.

Once again, Sawyer delivers a story that is so much more!

This was a really fun read. To cover for a misjudged hook-up with her father’s new star player, Brooke lies her way right into a fake engagement. The premise is a little bit farcical and it isn’t entirely original, but the story is well written and I really enjoyed the characters.

Bishop is a NHL veteran – and he’s a bit of a player. The feelings he has for Brooke confuse him and the fake engagement sends him into a tailspin. I love that he’s pretty soft under his alpha exterior and I love that he becomes more likeable as he spends more time with Brooke. Brooke becomes more interesting as the story progresses. She is good fun and she’s got grit. I like the friendship that grounds the relationship between her and Bishop.

This is yet another hockey romance full of slut shaming and clearly delineated good girls/bad girls/crazy girls. It’s not a sisterhood affirming read but I enjoyed the story and I liked both Brooke and Bishop.

For fans of hockey and girls that do anything for their family, this book is for you.

Brooke is the new coach's daughter and Bishop is one of the hotshot players for the expansion team – the Arizona Vengeance. After meeting in a bar, Brooke and Bishop hook-up, going their separate ways the next morning. Each not knowing that their lives are about to get a little more complicated.

When Bishop finds Brooke at the corporate offices, he can't believe his luck. Wanting to pick up where they left off, Bishop kisses her like he means it. And then the Coach walks in....

Fearing that her father will treat Bishop horribly, she makes up a story on the spot that they are engaged. Bishop goes along with the story and soon finds himself enmeshed in a story that has taken on a life of its own.

Pretending to be in a relationship is harder than it looks and before long, both Brooke and Bishop are in a real relationship, only they are unsure how to come clean with her father. Scandal ensues when a former co-worker of Brooke's comes to visit in Arizona and Bishop steps up for Brooke like no one else has before.

I really enjoyed this book, the characters are well written and I can't wait to learn more about the Vengeance organization and players.

This is the first book in a new series of hockey hotshots – and gives us some links to the Cold Fury days too, which is fun. As a big fan of sports romance, and Sawyer Bennett's style, I am delighted at this new series!

The story of a mistaken identity hook-up pre-season is not entirely unique, but Brooke's solution when caught by her coach father is to say that they are engaged – something which shocks her nearly as much as it does Bishop! But nonetheless, in the interests of a successful start to his time with the team, and because for some reason one night with her was not enough, he plays along.

There are some great comedic moments thanks to this crazy ruse that neither have any experience in pulling off, but luckily, they are so happy playing out the fantasy that it is not a hardship. I love Brooke's father's approach to the situation, and he comes out of the whole story very well – so I hope that he is on the list of people who will get a chance of new love too. There are plenty of other candidates who clearly need the Bennett treatment, but Bishop was the perfect start for the series.

Lighthearted, goodly amount of hockey, and engaging characters, this is a promising start to a new series of entertaining novels.

I was so excited to see that Sawyer Bennett was releasing a new hockey series and I’m equally as excited to say it’s awesome! It’s a plotline that’s quite unique and I think that makes the story all that much more enjoyable.

Bishop is a hockey player who has recently been traded to a brand new hockey team. The day before his first day meeting everyone from his new team, Bishop winds up having a one-night stand with a woman, Brooke. When showing up the next day to his new team offices, the first person he runs into is Brooke and Bishop doesn’t even care why she’s there, he’s just happy to pick right back up where they left off… only they’re interrupted. By her father, the coach of the team. In a panic, Brooke proclaims that she and Bishop are engaged and have known each other a while. Bishop begrudgingly goes along with the plan but only if Brooke agrees to continue sleeping with him…

I think my only complaint about this book is that Bishop is a bit demanding about the fact that he and Brooke will continue sleeping together through their little agreement; however, Brooke doesn’t put up much of a fight (like at all), so it’s not as bad as it could have been. Bishop is kind of an a$$ some of the time but he and Brooke are just so perfect together that he grows on you. I’m already obsessed with the supporting characters in this book and can’t wait to see whose story we’ll get next!

Simply amazing!

Sawyer Bennett manages to outdo herself with each new book. They are always fantastic and brilliant.

And Bishop is no different. This book... Gah! every word. Simply phenomenal. I couldn't put this book down. I didn't want to put this book down.

A must read.

Bishop is the first book in Sawyer Bennett's new hockey series Arizona Vengeance. It starts off fast and doesn't slow down until the last page. Bishop, co-captain of the new NHL Expansion team, bumps in to his one night stand in the most unlikely of places - the offices of the Arizona Vengeance. Thinking it's his lucky day, he's all in to pick things up where they left off. Until his new coach walks in and Brooke introduces Bishop as her almost-finance. Turns out his new coach is his one night stand's father, and Brooke knows it will go badly for Bishop if she doesn't convince her dad things are serious between them after the compromising position they were caught in.

In fantastic, hot Sawyer Bennett fashion, the two navigate their way through their "almost-engagement", promising that it's just temporary and that no one will get hurt. Enter one "best friend" intent on being the next NHL gold digger and things get way more complicated than imaginable.

This is an excellent start to the series. Can't wait for the next installment.

I was given an ARC of Bishop in exchange for an honest review.

If you are a fan of the author’s Cold Fury series, you are going to fall in love with this new series. I keep wanting to refer to this as a spin off series, but that is not the case. This is about a new NHL hockey team and the players. This means we get to know the co-captain who's story is awesome, but we are given hints of the other players with their own stories that I can’t wait to read.
A new team of players must no only learn who to play together which can be a challenge them and for the coach, so this story has more than just one focus especially when you have a new arena, new city, and new players to deal with.
For Bishop, he finds that his one night stand was going to change things in many ways. He doesn't think about it or expect it to do, yet it does when he discovers that she is his new coaches daughter. Brooke is quick thinking, but what she thought was in the best interest soon spirals out of control.
I really enjoyed getting to know these new players and watching as Bishop and Brooke figure they way around the challenges they are faced with. The author will have you laughing along with some of the events, trying to cool off from some of the steamer scenes and worry about other happenings all leading to being left with a book hangover and having to wait for more from this hockey team.
