Add this one to the not for me list. This book felt to me as if the author picked a few plot lines out of a hat and wrote a story around them without properly developing any of them. We have a single mom with a horrible ex, forced proximity with an overly cocky house-guest who is randomly a former mercenary, and of course the tight group of friends that I could not keep straight but kept showing up every few pages. If I had liked the main characters I might have been able to forgive the all over the place plot but sadly even they did not work for me.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Bobbie Jo is a single parent, stuggling to make ends meet while renovating her farm to a b&b. She agrees to let a firneds nephew stay in exchange for him working on the house and getting the building work done. When Seth turns up they are attracted to each other, but he isn't the settling down type and when someone from his past puts Bobbie Jo and her son in danger she sends Seth away. But is he gone for good?

An enjoyable read, looking forward to more from this author.

Alison Bliss has done it again! LOL funny, sweet and sexy, with a swoon worthy lead male character and a feisty, spunky heroine...
Bobbie Jo is trying to fix up her ramshackle farmhouse to turn it into a bed and breakfast. However, she’s run out of money. She agrees to let her bosses nephew, Seth, to stay with her and her son for the summer in exchange for work being done on her house. The chemistry is hot from their first meeting. But between dealing with the no good father of her son and the secret that Seth is hiding from her, it’s a mystery as to whether they will make it work. I guess you’ll have to read it to find out.
And if you’ve read Rules of Protection, the first book in this series...you’ll FINALLY find out Emily’s real name.
I’ve loved every book Alison has written and can’t wait to read whatever she has in store for us next!

Bobbi Jo Weston is a single mom to five-year-old Austin and on her own, no thanks to her son’s daddy. Yet Bobbi vows to make it own her own with the support of her friends and family. Bobbi’s dream to turn a rundown farm into a bed and breakfast. When she welcome’s her boss’s nephew Seth Landry into her home to help with repairs in exchange for room and board, it soon becomes obvious to everybody in the little Texas town, that there is more to than landlord and handyman. Seth keeps his story to himself and while it troubles Bobbi Jo, she can’t help but fall in love with him. Yet Bobbi Jo is afraid Seth will walk out of their lives.
With some mystery and questions as to just who Seth Landry really is, this is a great romantic story with some spicy scenes and a little suspense.

I received an Arc copy of this book for my honest review. This was my first book by this author but it definitely won’t be my last. The lead Bobbie Jo is trying to do right with raising her son, fixing her house, and trying to create a B&B all on her own. Her ex is a deadbeat with little interest in his son. In comes ex-mercenary Seth who’s trying to recover from a mission gone wrong while working as a carpenter for her. There was a lot of back and forth heat between the two which helped develop their relationship , but when they do get together it’s definitely hot. I really enjoyed watching Seth interact with Bobbie Jo’s son. There are some plot twists along the way but it’s definitely a quick read. I would recommend this book for others to read.

Ever since I read Rules of Protection 3 years ago, I’ve been hanging out for Bobbie Jo to finally get her HEA and I was not disappointed.

A fantastic story with the perfect blend of suspense, drama and chemistry, this book had me itching to turn the page to see what happened next. Loved all the side characters and getting a glimpse into their lives now, especially Emily and Jake.

This is a great read right from the beginning to the very last page. Bobbie Jo, single mom to a cute as a bug 4 year old boy, deadbeat sperm donor to her son and has bought herself an old chicken farm to turn it into a B&B. She works hard, great mom to that little guy and needs some help finishing up the rooms in her house. There's a lot of work to be done and she's done so much, but the money ran out and she's working just to keep things rolling. Her boss at the diner she works at has a nephew coming into town and he needs a place to land for the summer. He's got some hands on experience doing all sorts of jobs. Meet Seth, sexy, one liner expert and the steam just kept coming. Bobbie kept trying to set boundaries with Seth and Seth would just nudge the line a little closer to his liking. His relationship with her son was fun and tugged at those mom strings. Some of the dialogue had me laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. The story also had a more serious side, as Seth didn't talk about his past no matter how much Bobbie pushed him and then toss in the obnoxious ex. The story had great flow, and I loved Seth and Bobbie together. It had just the right amount of sexual tension and serious steam. Great story and Seth Landry can build me a new chicken coop any day!
Read this gem, you'll enjoy it.

This book is a great romance read. Single mom with a jerk ex and a brooding cowboy to save her. It was exactly what I need in a romance. There was great character build. There were twists. I hate when a book is so predictable but this one has depth to it. As an avid Romance reader it's nice to read just a good downright romance with a bit of dirty.

LOVED this book! This is a quickly moving story that hooked me from the very first page and kept me hooked until the very last page - I was actually sorry when it ended. The author made me fall in love with the characters and feel invested in their story - from single mom Bobbie, to mercenary Seth, they couldn't have been any more different...or any more perfect together.

This is the first book I've read by this author, but it won't be the last. I've added the author to my must read authors' list and am looking forward to reading her other books.

Ever since Book 1 of the series I have wanted to read about Bobbie Jo and see her get her HEA.
In book 1, Rules of Protection (Tangled in Texas #1) we saw Bobbie Jo through the eyes of the heroine of that book Emily and at first she came across a bit like the villain, the other woman.

We know that she has a son and her ex is a dead beat, certainly no father to her boy.
This story starts when he son is 5.
I like the Hero and the heroine though there was a bit of push/pull which I am not keen on.

There are plenty of scenes with the previous couples from the series which is fantastic.

No o/w or o/m drama.

Her ex is around quite early on in the story but no romance between them.

No cheating. HEA. Epilogue.
