“You are mine – mine to love, mine to protect, mine to make happy for the rest of our lives. No matter how long I have to wait.” – Owen Ashton

In this new series by Lia Davis and Kerry Adrienne, Owen Ashton, a dragon shifter, meets his fated mate at the worst possible time - when he's knee deep in an investigation concerning a serial killer shifter. Not only that, but the rogue dragon is also the one who killed Owen's sister. But his priorities seem to mix up as he now has to woo Nadia Hasting AND protect her and her sister from the trouble that has found them.

I've developed a personal preference towards shifter romance the last few years. It's always so interesting to see someone sort of battling with an inner conscience that is in the form of an animal (or dragon, in this case). And the concept of soulmates is of course very appealing to a romantic at heart. So this book was right up my alley - concept-wise. The suspense helped a lot, as well as the fact that it didn't drag on forever, but got to the point swiftly.

And since this isn't the first book written by Lia Davis that I've read, I have to say it was much better than the first work of hers that fell into my hands. Better pace, better dialogues, and she did a pretty good job of avoiding the plot holes I dreaded in that other story. Not to mention her characters were quite captivating and interesting, making me emotionally invested in their story and what would happen to them.

The only problem seemed to be the connection between the main two leads. I don't mind some fast and hard romance, especially in shifter-soulmate-love stories, but I felt like there was a bit too much telling instead of showing. It didn't make the book bad, per se, it just took some of its rating out for me personally. Still, I recommend this book for anyone with a soft spot for dragon shifter stories - it's a rather intriguing start for a series!

P.S.: The next book is Snow's story! Yay! It's no hidden fact that he was my favorite of the characters in the first book!

“I don’t want to be shut out of your life. I want to know all your secrets. And maybe, one day, meet your dragon.” – Nadia Hasting

Dragon Undercover by authors Lia Davis and Kerry Adrienne is the start to the Dark Scales Division series. I really loved this fast-paced action-packed love story. There is a little bit of suspense thrown in too, just was an amazing read I want more from this series.
Owen his sister has been murdered. He will do anything to catch the killer. He wants to stop the spree of murders the monster has done and protect others from his pain.
Nadia and her little sister are on vacation. Nadia thinks Owen is cute and would like to date him she never expected she would be helping him find her missing little sister and stopping a killer in the process.
I liked both characters. Nadia is strong, has a great sense of humor, and keeps the femininity that draws you to her as a person.
Owen is a deeply loving dragon with a drive and protective streak that is a mile wide. I loved his overall attitude and determination. He is a force to be reckoned with even without his dragon form to scare you.
Highly recommend this one to anyone who loves a fast-paced love story with a mystery thrown in. Cannot wait for more from this series.

I really wanted to like this story because the premise was really appealing to me.

The issue I had though was that I didn't feel like the characters had any connection to each other. They talked about how they felt for one another, but as a reader I didn't feel that. In these types of books, usually the reader can feel the connection but not with this one.

If you like dragon stories you enjoy this book. Great storyline and great characters. Drew me in and kept me reading. Can’t wait to read more from this author.

After Owen’s sister is murdered, he goes undercover to find and the rogue dragon from killing again. What he doesn’t expect is to find his mate next door. When her sister goes missing, he’s determined to find her safe and bring her back to his mate.
This was a pretty quick read. Things moved pretty fast, not leaving a whole lot of room for character development. While I got Owen’s character and feelings pretty well, I didn’t really get into Nadia’s character. I would probably read from this author again.

To be completely straightforward, Shifter Romance is my number one, most enjoyed genre of all – and when I find them in Netgalley it’s one special treat. Especially when Lia Davis and Kerry Adrienne are writing it. So, yes, I settled down to enjoy Dragon Undercover, the first in the Dark Scales Division series and I absolutely loved falling into this world — and if you love Paranormal Romance or Shifter Romance as well then you need to be reading this new series.

Owen and his team hunt down the worst of their species, the dragons who have gone rogue and proven just how bad an out of control, bat crap crazy dragon can be. He has personal experience of this particular bad guy, Liam Huff, since he is responsible for Owen’s sister dying a horrible death. He’s on the trail of a serial killer when the last person he ever expected to find moved in to the cabin next door. His fated mate. While finding your mate is always a dream come true, the fate’s timing on this one is really not so great. Owen has to convince Nadia that he’s the man for her while keeping track of a killer, and figuring out how to explain his dragon. Everything goes south when Nadia’s sister, Sage, is taken. Now Nadia has no choice but to trust the man who she’s drawn to, and accept him just as he is.

Dragon Undercover isn’t a long story, but it is a powerful introduction to the series. Fast paced, steamy moments, secrets, and a love worth risking everything for. Nadia is a strong woman, and even if she doesn’t realize it yet she’s a perfect dragon mate. I easily got caught up in their story and it certainly was a roller coaster ride. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book, Snowed Undercover. If you love Paranormal Romance or Shifter Romance then you need to check out Owen and Nadia’s story, I’m thinking you’ll be captured as well.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Dragon Undercover by Lia Davis and Kerry Adrienne is the firs book in the Dark Scales Division series. This is the story of Owen Ashton and Nadia Hasting.
Owen is a working on a case to catch a serial killer one that killed his sister. This leads Owen to meet Nadia and her sister. Owen doesn't come clean with what he is doing nor who he is (a dragon shiftier) but he does realize that Nadia is his mate. Then Nadia sister goes missing and Owen is sure that the killer has her.
I enjoyed this book but I did have a some issue making a connection with the characters. Overall a quick easy read.

Dragon undercover is a great quick read. Owen is a dragon shifter and part of a group who keeps their identity hidden. He lost his sister to a crazy shifter and now that shifter is starting to capture and kill humans. He will do anything to stop the bad guy. What he doesnt expect is to find Nadia.

Nadia is human and a protector when it comes to her younger sister. The attraction she feels to the guy next door is new and distracting. But when her sister does missing and Owen's involvement comes to light. Things will get real. It was good and entertaining.

What a ride! I just went undercover the sexy and thrilling new Dark Scales Division where the dragon shifters hunt down dragon criminals. On this mission Owen is hunting for the serial killer that killed his sister and while on this mission he meets Nadia and her sister Sage. But the mission becomes complicated when Owen realizes Nadia is his mate and then before he can even tell Nadia, Sage goes missing.

The characters in Dragon Undercover are strong and captivating, easily drawing readers into their story and Owen and Nadia’s romance is sweet but full of complications especially as this fast paced story if full of adrenaline pumping suspense as they hunt for the evil Huff who leads the couple on a thrilling chase which keeps readers on the edge of their seats.

Lia Davis and Kerry Adrienne has created an exciting and fascinating new world with fantastic characters. Though the story is a little on the short side it never has a dull moment and I am completely intrigued by this new world and these law enforcement dragons, so I can’t wait for the next thrilling mission- Snowed Undercover!

A new series about dragon shifters working undercover to stop rogue dragons? Yes please!
Dragon shifter Owen is working undercover to track down the rogue that killed his sister and several other females as well. Nadia and Sage are two humans staying in the cabin next to Owen's. When Sage unexpectedly gets caught up in the the danger, will Owen and Nadia be able to save her? Or will Sage become the next victim in this reign of terror?

An interesting story with the right amount of heat, heart, and danger. I look foward to reading more in this series.

Loved the banter and page turning adventure they share, could not put it down once I started reading...

There are timed Owen doesn't like giving in to his woman, "he made that growling sound again, only this time, it was deeper, like it came from his chest. “Then you are wearing Kevlar. And shoes. That’s not optional..." I loved this book, I fell in love with Owen the man was protective, possessive, and caring.
