Unfortunately I ended up DNF-ing this book as I wasn’t feeling the writing style. My main problem with it was that it felt very much like “tell” instead of “show”, and I couldn’t really get into the story because of it. The setting and the concept of this book is honestly incredibly intriguing, and I did love the world of it when I started reading, but due to me not feeling the writing, it ended up feeling like it fell flat and reading forward eventually felt like a chore to me.

Thank you, NetGalley for letting me read Flynn Nightsider and the Edge of Evil by Mary Fan. I will keep it brief. This book is amazing and even if you are not a huge fan of paranormal you should read this book. If I could give it 10 stars I would. Definitely, a must read. I mean look at that cover...

This was the first book that I have read from Mary Fan. She was a new to me author that made her books sound great. I thought the premise of the book and the development came together to make an entertaining book. Thank you for allowing me to read this and write about and I look forward to reading more from this author.

Hmmmm, this is a difficult one.
I mean, I loved the world building. It set up a world that I wanted to know more about. I could definitely see myself spending a lot of time with these characters.

However....I Found some things problematic. If your main character, your protagonist, your HERO uses a homophobic slur, I’m automatically going to mentally draw back.
It was such a little thing “I’m not a pansy”.
However, if that one single thing had been removed, I would have cared so much more.

So, it’s a 3 from me.
