***ARC received for an honest review***
I’d not read Jaci Burton before, and I was looking for something light and sweet to break up my intense reads. In this instance, however, light and sweet equated to shallow and trite.
Josie and Zach are teachers with a crush on one another. Over the space of the book they take their mutual attraction to the next level. There’s a lot of characters in this book - I suspect that most of them come from the series. Maybe I would have enjoyed this more if I knew who any of them were. As it was I had a hard time keeping everyone and their significant other straight.
There’s little in the way of drama. Little in the way of steak. And little in the way of real life. Lots of nicey-nice conversation and situations that felt like they’d never happen IRL. I don’t need angst. But I do like to feel something when I read - and this book couldn’t get me there.

This was my first Jaci Burton book and, full disclosure, I didn't realize it was the 8th book in a series when I requested it. I tried to give it a go anyway, but in the end I was unable to invest or connect with it. I'm not sure if it's the writing, or the fact that my OCD does not like jumping into the middle (or the end) of a series this way. I do sincerely appreciate the opportunity to read and review, but unfortunately, it's a DNF for me.

Things are looking up for Josie, she’s found a teaching job she loves and with a less than stable childhood she’s finally found a place where not only can she put down roots but she actually wants to put down roots. Love wasn’t necessarily at the top of her agenda but the attraction she’s feeling for fellow teacher Zach has her moving in a direction she’s not so sure she’s ready for.
I normally enjoy Jaci Burton’s books but this one just didn’t do it for me. There were several areas I struggled with; the first being that it seemed to have lost steam halfway through. Then, there was the background on the supporting characters. This is number eight in the Hope Series so there was so much background given on the supporting characters from previous books I had a hard time keep everything and everyone straight. So much information made me feel like I was losing the Josie and Zach storyline. Also, I wasn’t really a big fan of Josie’s; I just couldn’t connect with her. The pace was a little off to me as well; sometimes scenes dragged and other times they seemed to move to fast.
I’m not going to completely write this book off though. I think I may go back and read the other books then try this one again. I did enjoy the banter and dialogue at times and that’s always a plus.

Pretty good. Solid story. 3.5 Stars

I’m a bit conflicted with this story. I’ve read one other book in the series before this one so I was a bit familiar with a few of the characters. But it had been a while so I don’t know that I remember Josie and Zach.
So why am I conflicted? A lot of it came from Josie. She seemed locked in the past and uncertain about life in a few scenes and some of the conversation didn’t flow for me. But then in the next chapter she was funny, warm, yet determined to take the lead, which he willingly gave her.
Another issue was that there were several scenes in the book that were just plain odd. Attending a party you were not really invited to as a third person to someone else’s first date? Umm no.
Zach, on the other hand, was a great character. Loving, very sexy, kind, and extremely patient with Josie. He knew what he wanted and was willing to go for it. Proud and sweet.
Overall, the author brought a classic story of love in a small town along with a few internal issues to get over. It was entertaining with a few fiery scenes that bring the heat and finally, a happy ever after.

I absolutely adore this series! Jaci Burton has a way with these books and she always puts a smile on my face. In One Perfect Kiss, two teachers find love although, it isn't sunshine and rainbows in the beginning. True love, as shown in this book, takes time, effort, and sometimes a lot more energy than one would want!
I loved this book. I finished it in one sitting because I couldn't get enough of Zach and Josie's story. I know many readers are going to devour this sweet romance just like I did!

Jaci Burton has hit it through the goal posts again with another installment in the Hope series. Josie and Zach have been circling each other for some time and FINALLY they get together! Josie is a tough English teacher, while Zach teaches History and coaches football (he was a former pro player injured). Fireworks spark when Josie almost benches a couple of his key players, but they work through that and then it's on! It was nice to revisit some of the other people that live in Hope and find out how they are doing too!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

One Perfect Kiss by Jaci Burton is the 8th book in her wonderful Hope series. This series is a wonderful small town romance, with a great couple that Burton continues to give us in each and every book. It is always great to visit Hope and get to see all of our favorite recurring characters (previous book couples).
One Perfect Kiss introduces us to our couple, Zach Powers and Josie Barnes; both of whom are teachers at Hope High. Zach is a former pro football player, who had to quit due to a knee injury, and ended up in Hope as a teacher and football coach.
Josie is an English teacher at the High School, and is content in her life in Hope. She has made good friends (all of whom we met in previous books), but Josie is not interested in becoming involved with anyone. She is divorced, with her ex leaving her and also must deal with her distant mother, who is a drug addict.
When Josie puts two football players on probation because of bad grades, Zach comes to her upset. He agrees to work with his two players to help them pass, and she will remove them from probation, allowing them to play. This opens the door for both of them to spend some time together getting to know each other. In a short time, despite Josie’s determination not to become involved, a slow built romance starts to heat up. Zach begins to fall for Josie, and knows he needs to be patient, as she has some issues from the past holding her back. Their relationship will become hotter, as they both succumb to their feelings. I did love Zach and how he was able to get Josie to trust him.
Besides spending time with all of our favorites, I absolutely adored Zach’s dog, Wilson, whom he adopted with Josie’s persuasion. I also got a kick out of Tumbles, Josie’s cat, who at first was not friendly to Zach, who ended up calling him all kinds of nicknames (satan, prince of darkness, etc). It was cute, and in time Tumbles and Zach would become friends.
Josie’s relationship with her mother did have a big impact on her life, but with her life changing as she falls in love with Zach, she attempts to find a way to help her mother into rehab.
Jaci Burton once again gives us a sweet heartwarming story line, with another wonderful couple, a sensational group of friends, and the small town atmosphere of Hope. If you enjoy sweet, sexy romances, great couples, friendships, family, cute dogs and cats, then you need to be reading this series. You can’t get wrong reading anything by Jaci Burton.

I could not finish this. There was nothing to interest me in this book. I will not be reviewing this anywhere. I don't want to discourage someone who may really like it.

A modern day love story that takes place in a small town located in Oklahoma. The story flowed and had no glaring errors. A small town football coach (ex pro player) has players on probation and must work, in conjunction, with their English teacher in order to get them off probation. The story works through their mutual attraction and subsequent romance to a happy ending. If you are a fan of good writing this is a book that should be put on your to be read list.
I have rated this book 4 stars.
I received an ARC from Netgalley for my unbiased review.

One Perfect Kiss has a little bit of everything to make it the perfect mix. It's a sweet romance with a twist of suspense, a hint of heat and a great story-line to tie it all together. This book is mostly set in a high school setting which brought back some interesting memories as I was reading. Good way to spend a summer day!

Josie Barnes has always craved a sense of home. She's found that in Hope, Oklahoma--she bought a house, has a new job as an English teacher at Hope High, she's made wonderful friends, and she's taking in stray animals that no one else wants. Now she's flirting with fellow teacher and hot high school football coach Zach Powers. But he's almost too good to be true, and Josie learned long ago not to trust in the too-good-to-be-true, because it has always let her down.
Josie come from a home with a drug addicted mother and never knew who her father was. She had a cheating fiance and comes to this town for a new beginning. She ends up spending more time with Zach and getting to know him but she has major trust issues.

The book is a quick easy read for a romance. Nothing about the characters or the plot was that different than any other romance novel that I have read, but it was fine for a summer beach read.

Sweet summer romance. Story of school teachers who fall in love but meet some obstacles on the way.
Josie had a very tough childhood and one really bad relationship leaving her lacking trust. Zach is the football coach who was a pro player until he got injured. Together they find their way and its a well earned happy ever after.

This one fell a little flat for me. I found myself struggling to keep going with it. I didn't love Josie, and that might have been my biggest problem with the story.

I know fans of Jaci Burton will really enjoy this novel. This was one of the first books of hers I've read in a while and I enjoyed it but found myself losing interest for pages at a time. I think it was just overexplained in places for me, or maybe the pacing was a little off? I appreciate the chance to read it. Thanks!

This is everything I expected from a Burton book and that's not remotely a bad thing. It was a perfect summer read.

One Perfect Kiss is a fast paced addicting romance.
One Perfect Kiss follows the story of Josie and Zach. The only thing Josie has ever wanted was a feeling of home and she thinks she may have found the perfect place in Hope, Oklahoma. She's finally living the life she's always dreamed. She's got the perfect job, great friends and even a potential love interest. But, if there's one thing that Josie has learned, it's that if it seems too good to be true, it almost always is....Zach is a former football player turned coach/teacher. He loves the game more than anything. So, when Josie benches some of his players due to poor grades, he'll stop at nothing to get them back on the team. Josie makes Zach crazy, but that doesn't stop him from trying to get closer....Will Josie take a chance on Zach and try to let him in?? There's only one way to find out...
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I found One Perfect Kiss to be a quick and enjoyable read. I loved the fast pace of the story and slow burn of the romance between Zach and Josie. Yes, Zach and Josie had instant chemistry, but I really loved how the author built up their relationship; had them get to know one another and really build that trust before jumping in. I really enjoyed getting to know these two and see just how their story was going to play out.
One Perfect Kiss was a great read from beginning to end. I honestly can't get over just how quickly I read this book. I mean I totally devoured it. Zach and Josie's story hit all the marks for me and was just the romance I was looking for. A totally great story to spend the day getting lost in. I can't wait to see what this author will have in store for us next.

This is a brand new author for me and is clearly a series. At times I was slightly lost so I think if you read it, you should read the series. That said I did not love the story. I really, did not like Josie at all. At all!!! Many times she wants Zach and she stops things from going further. For no real, reason. They both like each other but nothing freaking happens. It was very frustrating and I am not even poor Zach.
Zach I really liked, though he was kind weird too. He wants Josie but he sorta likes being alone too. These were very hard characters to like and I could nt finish this story. It just became this really hard story to read and since I did not like the main characters I just couldn't take it anymore.

I genuinely enjoyed this romance. It was such a satisfying read since author took the time to build a relationship between the two characters instead of creating this perfect couple that instantly falls in love. It was nice to get to know the characters as they got to know each other. Overall, a well-plotted novel that I would happily recommend to others.

I loved this story of two high school teachers, both new to the small town, finding each other. I appreciated the way Zach was portrayed, a former pro football player with a career-ending knee injury, who found fulfillment in teaching and coaching high school football. Josie was also a great character, on her own but dealing with a drug addict mother. She was strong in denying hand-outs to her mother but helped get her into rehab when she was ready. Zach and Josie's romance was a slow burn, taking time to build and going over obstacles, until Josie could see her way clear to believing in love.
