This book was a funny collection of essays, advice and reads almost like a humorous style of couple’s counseling. Each chapter is broken up by a back and forth interview style between the authors, and also includes great pictures of them. This is different than most humour books as it is co-written, and both authors have great experience in the entertainment and comedy industries. This was a nice read and I will be recommending it to people who want a lighter read but still want to get some real advice out of a book.

I'll confess something: sometimes hanging out with couples annoys me. I can say this as I am, myself, half of a couple. But there's the bickering, the picking at each other, the weird sense that maybe they don't like each other. But the memoir by Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman is a major exception. With a tone that captures their deep love for each other - indeed, their great kindness and the great fun that seems to run between them - this book gives us a dive into these two brilliantly funny people who do seem to have the greatest love story ever told.

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group Dutton for the read of The Greatest Love Story Ever Told by Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman.

These two very funny, super talented artists, are very much in love! As much as I anticipated this as an entertaining read, I found it a little difficult to get through. It was reading through a conversation rather than a story. It might have been fun to listen to as an audio.

It was fun, but I think you need to be a die-hard, as in a “fan who collects things”, to want to buy this book.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an e-arc copy, all opinions are my own.

I thought this would be a cute book, like a dual biography/behind the scenes look at the couple. Alas, this is just a transcript of an interview - or at least that's what it feels like. The couple is talking through various aspects of how they met with a few essays interspersed.

Possibly interesting as an audiobook, but certainly not worth the full freight of a hardcover. It;'s cute and funny, but it is not a book.

Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman are exactly what everyone says they are: talented, comedic, and the utter definition of couple goals. This book perfectly reflects their true personalities. Their deepest and most personal beliefs, truths, and experiences are written in such a way that they make it feel so familiar to the reader. The fact that most of the book was written in a dialogue transcript made the reader feel even more that they were being their true honest selves. The pictures in this book are HILARIOUS! Each piece of art before and after a chapter really added such a personal and hilarious touch that I looked forward to seeing what the next one would be.

I would frequently find myself laughing out loud as they spoke with blunt honesty on the topics of relationships, staying true to yourself, their art, sex advice, fashion, and pretty much anything they could think of.

One thing I did find myself disliking throughout the book is that, as much as I appreciated their flow and uncensored conversations, I would often find that the conversations ran on into other topics. Although this trait does make the book feel more natural and honest, as a written piece it got confusing at times. Where one conversation would begin with topic A, the reader would find the discussion move onto related topics B,C, and D, before coming back to topic A.

Overall, it was a great read. Funny, quirky, honest, inspiring, and beyond entertaining.

First line: All right!

Summary: Two of the most well-known actors of our time and iconic characters bring their own personal love story to us, the readers. Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally describe their first meeting, hobbies, relationship tips and much more.

Highlights: I listened to this because after trying to read it I was not interested. The layout was conversational and with them talking back and forth. I liked to hear about their lives and romance. They feed off each other. I love these two actors and their work. I was really excited to hear about their relationship. The best part of the book was the illustrations and photos! The whole section of puzzles was fantastic.

Lowlights: Not meant to be read except for the pictures.

FYI: If you like Parks and Recreation and Will & Grace then pick this up!

The authors are talented, hilarious individuals. Together, they take it to an entirely different level. Clearly they are in love and committed to each other. This is a clever concept for a book about a couple, however it doesn't work too well in print. It would come across much stronger as an audio book, as it's primarily conversations between the two.

I don’t think I’ve ever read a book that was simultaneously pure and dirty, but this was, in the best way. It was funny and honest and clever. Plus the writing style makes you feel like you’re part of a conversation with two very smart, very talented and incredibly funny people. The pictures are excellent. By the end you just wish these people were your friends and that you could hang out and do puzzles with them

For a joyful look into the life behind the camera for Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman, look no further than their book The Greatest Love Story Ever Told. Wonder at their time doing smaller theater production together. Learn how Nick lived a bachelor life existence. The book is incredibly funny and even funnier when you read it and can hear how they must be reading the book . If you're a fan of Will and Grace or Parks and Recreation, please read this book.

These two are the ultimate #relationshipgoals. Like, I just love their story, and how crazy they clearly are about each other. While there are obviously some MAJOR differences between their lives and mine, I could see a little of myself and my own love story in theirs. And to listen to them talk, bouncing back and forth and interjecting in the other's narrative here and there -- it's just so organic and natural, and their love for each other is so apparent.

Despite being familiar with both of them (since celebrity knowlege/pop culture is kind of my thing), I realized while listening that I really didn't know much about them, or their story. It was great to hear them talk about meeting each other, their reactions to each other, how different their lives were growing up. Megan in particular was a mystery to me, and I was surprised to hear how difficult her upbringing was.

I love that they have a two week rule about seeing each other, no matter how busy they are. And I love that they do jigsaw puzzles and listen to audiobooks together. I liked that they addressed them not having children, and while I'm sure there's more to that story, it was also something I could relate to.

This was just... so worthwhile. It felt real and honest and fun, all at the same time. If you like them at all, just listen to this. It will give you faith that real love exists and can last (Nick and Megan, never ever ever ever stop loving each other).

Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman are so hilarious and adorable and this book reflects their wonderful personalities into a quick, fun read. I loved the photos, particularly the puzzle collection.

A memoir/dialogue/conversation between two popular humorists who also happen to be husband and wife. If you are a fan, this will likely appeal to you, but otherwise skip it.

Those of us familiar with Mullaly & Offerman will not find anything enlightening or surprising since this is just an extension of their comedy shows, but it is entertaining to read their personal comments about their lives together and apart. Who knew they were jigsaw puzzle enthusiasts! Not a complete waste of time, but certainly not high quality prose and (unfortunately) not overly hilarious unless you count the photographs scattered throughout. Definitely a vanity project for their fans. Others will want to pass.

Loved this book. Sometimes when there is more than one author books become a little disjointed but this story is told in a unique and very readable way. The fact that they wrote it together makes the story stronger. I laughed out loud so many times and found myself reading it to my fiancé.

Disclosure: I love both Mullaly and Offerman. They are both so amazing on TV and in real life. And they seem so in love. There are great stories about their childhoods, their meeting , their acting. This is set up to be an oral history and reads, in the main, like a transcription. I think that this will be much better as an audiobook and I plan on listening when the book comes out..

These two are pure gold. I'm not sure if they could make anything truly bad. I loved everything about this.

This is the story of the relationship of Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman, two brilliant actors and comedians starring in television shows such as Parks and Recreation and Will and Grace and I do not say this often, this was the most BRILLIANT biography I have ever read not only in my career as a Librarian but in my entire life.

First of all, I loved how the book was written with each of them speaking their mind allowing the reader to see their true personalities, like we were their friends having a casual conversation. Megan's personality definitely shined through telling us stories of her personal life and what went on behind the scenes at Will and Grace. Nick really shined describing what it was like being a carpenter to an actor having a key role on Parks and Recreation making America fall in love with him as Ron Swanson.

This book was so addicting that I could not stop reading it and now I get it why they recommend to be well fed and hydrated before you read this book because you won't be able to stop jumping up and down screaming YES! while you read the book! I wish I could give this infinity stars but we can only give it 5 stars! #greatestlovestoryevertold #netgalley

I wanted to love this book. I really did, because I love them as a couple and separately! I laughed a lot, but it just wasn't what I wanted it to be. I didn't enjoy the way it was set up as sort of an interview. I feel like they would be better live or listening to this as an audiobook.

Cute story of two celebrities and their years of marriage in a business that isn't known for marriage longevity. A must read for fans of Will and Grace and Parks and Rec.

Let me start off by saying I’m a huge Nick Offerman fan, and that started when I fell in love with Parks and Recreation. I was so excited to read this one and I devoured it. I loved that most of it was set as dialogue between Nick and Megan, their banter had me giggling constantly. I can only imagine the Audiobook is going to be amazing. I was very entertained the entire time, and the pictures on every chapter were so cute/hilarious!

I'm not usually one to follow celebrity romances, but there's something about Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman's love for each other that just makes me feel all gooey and happy. They're so cute! In Nick Offerman's memoir Paddle Your Own Canoe, he spends chapters (CHAPTERS) talking about how much he loves Megan Mullally, and it warmed my cold, dead heart enough to make me believe in love again. I loved their comedy special The Summer of 69, and I'm a fan of both Will and Grace and Parks and Rec. So yes, I'm the perfect audience for this book. And I loved it! It bills itself as an oral history, so it's pretty clear that the best way to absorb this story is through the audio version, but I also enjoyed reading it. Most of the book is written in dialogue as the two discuss their love story and relationship, and it includes some really excellent photos of the couple. I laughed out loud multiple times, and felt like I got to know both of them a little better. I can't wait to hear this on audio. If you're a fan of Megan and Nick, this is a must-read, or really, a must-listen.
