Lone Star Princess is the second installment in this series but you can follow the story as a standalone. As always, I would recommend reading the first part.

Annabelle has been a sort of black rebel sheep of the family, but we don't really see the whole picture of why it's a case.

The chemistry banter was good, but it just felt that this book needed much more of it, that it needed a lot more of twists and turns to make it into something to recommend.

It's not even a very sweet, cozy story - it's somehow very forgettable. :/

The thing that should be mentioned is Annabelle's progression towards maturity that is very well described.

Set in Texas, Lone Star Princess is the second book in The Castles of Dallas series but I read it quite a while after book one and it works really well as a stand-alone. The first book will give you some background to this story, however.
I loved both Annabelle and Johnny, the heroes of this story. Annabelle Castle is a talented designer whose works showcase the goods on sale in the family department stores. From Johnny Darrow’s perspective, Annabelle is way out of his league. She’s the stepdaughter of Charles Castle, the owner. She and Johnny have a friendly and flirtatious working relationship until they’re both given responsibility for setting up a new store, Annabelle in the design area and Johnny as head of security. Thrown together they suddenly discover their feelings for each other are stronger than either is willing to acknowledge.
I zipped through this book. It is a lovely mix of light entertainment and slightly angsty self doubt from both characters. These two were so easy to cheer for and while the story was predictable in places, it was still a thoroughly enjoyable read.

Annabelle Castle is nothing like she used to be. The party girl of the past is ready to show her sister she is someone she can depend on. Everything changed after her mother was sent to prison. Having a new lease on life she has made a truce with Johnny. Their verbal sparring has been something that fueled the animosity between them for several years. Embarking on a new journey he is asked to protect her. Will he be able to put his past behind to find the happiness he has been denying himself from ever having? This series is a definite must read and I am definitely reading it again.

This was a well-written story with really great characters. The storyline was sometimes simple but could be read by anyone and sometimes it's just nice to read a sweet romance. It wasn't angsty. That was welcome in a world of books full of angst.

I would definitely recommend this book. I loved the story and didn't want it to end. I found it relatable in some parts and overall well written.

Sweet and funny contemporary romance. This is the second in the series, but although I hadn't read the first Worth did an excellent job condensing the relevant plot details to introduce this story. The story revolved around the classic trope of the bad girl and the good boy, the rebel and the hero but with a sweet undertone that I thought worked really well.
Recommended.
*Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher*

I have chosen not to review or complete this title.

As always, I appreciate the opportunity to read an early title and look forward to the next one.

Thanks,

Cute, thoughtful and nice. Dallas caught my eye having lived in Grapevine TX, and the DFW/metroplex for years (DFW is Dallas/Forth Worth). The story itself brings out some normal insecurities and feelings we all have. Watching and reading our author shares them let us root for the fairy tale ending.

The second book in the series, has Annabelle Castle changing from the wild girl to now a women coming up with creative displays in the department store. Her sister now wants her to take her talent to a new that will be opening soon and give it the look that only she can give it. Also going with her to be her bodyguard and to hire security is Johnny Darrow. They have a thing for each other but it is only with words so far. Once they leave the store to be on their own you would think that the story would pick up some but here is where I found it to lag for some reason. Though I liked Annabelle’s character and could see the constant change for some reason Johnny’s character I found slow and actually slowed the story for part of it. When you start getting to the end it will start to pick up again and works towards a very nice ending. Wish it could have been a little more.

Lone Star Princess is the second sweet romance in the Castles of Dallas series written by author Lenora Worth. Thanks to NetGalley and Tule Publishing for the advance copy.

Cute read, although a little boring. I like my heroes to be aloha males so Johnnny wasn't really a character I liked much. He came off as weak. There wasn't as much chemistry between the characters as I'd hoped. This was not a bad read, it just wasn't for me.

I enjoyed Lone Star Princess so much I went back and found the first novel in the series. They are quick romance reads that are fun, cute with a tad of family drama. I think ladies that love quick romances read will love these books. The plots are straightforward and easy to follow.

The book started good but the character is a bit weak to me. I will say the story near the end started to get boring and doesn't make sense. So because the chemistry didn't really work out for me, therefore I will give this book a 2 star only.

I had such high hopes for this book. I have a soft spot for books set in Texas (no idea why) and the cover is super cute. Throughout the whole story I felt like I was missing something. Maybe if I read the first book I would be less confused.

Annabelle and Johnny are likable enough, but a little flat. Johnny especially felt a little difficult to understand. I knew I was supposed to think he had romantic feelings for Annabelle, but I struggled to see it. And his constant pushing her away never really made sense. There is a referenced backstory between them, but it wasn't explained/explored enough.

The world of visual merchandising was interesting. And you can see Annabelle's passion for it. I also liked how Ms. Worth used fashion to show of Annabelle's personality. It felt weird when Johnny would talk about her clothes, but it mostly worked.

In the end, I think this book could use 10-15K more words to flush out the characters and romance. It has a lot of potential and I would consider reading another Lenora Worth book in the future.

Received an advance copy fron Netgalley for an honest review.

I'm not sure if I liked it. Let me just point out that I did not read the previous books and although the book was fun and uncomplicated, I'm not sure I really enjoyed it.

i recieved this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I wanted to love this book. The plot was intriguing. but the actual book couldn't keep me interested. The MC just felt like they were always lacking.

The descriptive writing was well laid out. i just couldn't feel the pull between the two MCs.

This book was second in the series. But could be read as a stand alone. I previously hadn't read the first. I will now though because maybe it could help me have a better understanding of some of the characters from this book.

I will almost say 100% i would read the next in the series or any other from this author.

So I’m not into fashion but I love the hard fought love story of Annabelle Castle and Johnny Darrow, the back and forth flirting and their off the charts chemistry between these two made the read sparkle.
I am guessing who the next book in the series will be about, I’m kinda torn who I want it to be, but I can’t wait to see who it will be.
