It’s time to join the crew of station seventeen once again.

Gamble has been fighting the demons of beginning the only survivor of his unit and even though its years lasted he still feels like it was yesterday. And on the night of the annvisary when he is trying to drink the demons away, Kennedy is the one bright spot that he can’t shake. She has always caught his attention but this time he can’t stop thinking about what it would be like to be with her.

There are plenty of things smoking in Kimberly Kincaid’s Deep Down. A serial arsonist is torching buildings in town, threatening not only property and lives but bar manager Kennedy Matthews’ brother Zander. But those fires cannot compete with the sparks between Kennedy and Fire Lieutenant Ian Gamble that are igniting into a four-alarm blaze of passion!

Station Seventeen’s Lieutenant Ian Gamble is the definition of tall, dark and handsome, although his darkness emanates not just from his dark eyes and hair but from deep within. In the prior books, you just knew the stoic, dependable and unreadable Gamble had one hell of a backstory. As manager of the popular watering hole The Crooked Angel, Kennedy Matthews too seems stoic and dependable, with a steely demeanor and core under her eyebrow piercing and tattoo. But when a fire outside “her” bar draws Kennedy into danger with a link to Station Seventeen, Gamble and his protective instincts are spurred to action...

Ms. Kincaid’s fourth book in her Station Seventeen presents us with a plot filled with suspense, even though the reader knows early on just who the bad guy is. And this villain is just so creepy, so evil, so immoral, that the fiend will burrow into your subconscious and give you nightmares. As for the romance side - well, this author certainly ratchets things up by giving us a very steamy ( that’s underlined and in caps!), very passionate yet sweet and at times tender romance between two characters who do not do “sweet and tender.” It is that contrast that makes Kennedy and Gamble stand out for me. Additionally, I was so surprised at just how “superhero” Kennedy and Gamble were! Although they were not perfect people, their flaws, their strength and their worldview made them stellar in my eyes. These were two very well-developed and impeccably drawn characters that I could not help but love. Everytime this author releases a new book, I think it is my favorite. But with “Deep Down,” I truly have found my book soulmate! The mix of the elements coupled with two protagonists I just fell madly in love with as a couple has made this book my hands, and hearts, down favorite!

Ian is a firefighter looking to forget his military past at the bar. He saves Kennedy after a fire at the bar, only to find out it was caused by arson. Kennedy has her own secrets and is trying to protect her brother. A red hot read that will keep you entertained to the last page.

I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am leaving a review.

Down Deep is another cannot put it down page turner from Kimberly Kincaid. I knew from the beginning that this story would probably have more “steam” than I usually like to read, but I also knew that I absolutely had to read it. I kept highlighting great imagery and quotes that got my attention, in order to refer to one or two in my review, but there were so many I’d be sharing the whole book if I did! Kimberly Kincaid's bio is absolutely true when it mentions that she splits the difference between sexy and sweet. She is an incredibly talented author with the ability to write real, three dimensional characters who make you fall for them as much as the story!

This story is more than just romantic suspense. It was a thrill ride. You have your hot couple who get together when the bar she manages catches fire while Ian is still there at the end of the night. When they escape outside a car speeds by and suddenly Kennedy said's she didn't see anything and Ian isn't fooled but decides to wait to ask questions.
Ian is a former Marine whose still feels quilt over his loose marine buddies. Both Kennedy and Ian are keeping secrets and it could cost both of them their lives.
The fire was deliberate and when Kennedy and Ian find they both have a stake in finding the person who set it they find the attraction between them could be a problem. I found myself wondering what was going to happen nest a lot! What a ride! This book is part of a series, but can be read as a standalone.

A fiery suspenseful read, Kimberly Kincaid scorches the pages with Kennedy and Gamble's story.

This shows the ties that bind and just how easily combustible they can become when twisted just so.

You get the full gambit of emotions on a ride that starts with his annual observance of the day he was the inly member of his team to walk away from a watch while deployed and Not getting the whole marriage thing.

Things shoot upward when a patron of Kennedy's bar gets a little overly aggressive the further into his cup he gets. Her years growing up on the rough side of town kick in and she quickly shows him he's about as tough as his hipster pants.

But not before Gamble witnesses it just as he's readying to walk home. He sticks around just in case and she puts him to work helping close up. Just when they get revved up in the pantry, the dumpster behind the building blows and puts them and the bar in jeopardy.

When Kennedy's little brother turns up the next morning after a year or so of silence, the ride ratchets up the next windy incline. Seems little brother know something... about the fire but isn't talking. Always his protector, big sister bear jumps in, sure there's more to it; defending him to Gamble.

They plummet down again, only to rocket to the next plateau, working together to find out more before Gamble turns him in to the cops. They ply a lady selling tricks with a bit of cash to help locate lil bro. That's downright funny.

Turns out. Xander has gotten himself mixed up with a serial arsonist, who threatens his life if he tries to back out of the plan to torch some building as part of a job. But the artistry of the flame and path of destruction consume him, what are a few casualties here and there. That just feeds his desires for more sooner.

This rollercoaster of suspense peaks as the arsonist's plan and need to claim past conflagrations become known, and the race is on to stop him before anyone else gets hurt or killed.

These characters learn to trust and lean on one another, and themselves. They overcome their past and learn to live not just today but to look forward to the future.

Ian Gamble has been itching to have his story told since he first appeared in a Station 17 book. Who knew his perfect woman would end up being the local bar manager, Kennedy Matthews. He’s always had that whole dark and broody thing going on. This book gives us a lot of insight into where that whole broody thing came about. One night a year, he allows himself to completely loose control as he remembers his friends he lost when he was a Marine. He happens to be in the bar with Kennedy when a fire breaks out and he saves the day. He also begins to unravel the mystery of who set the fire and why, of course with the help of every other couple who have come before Ian and Kennedy. This story was so well written and really kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end.

This red-hot read, the latest in the Station Seventeen series, is hands down my favorite Kimberly Kincaid firefighter read! I enjoyed and reviewed each of the other full length books and novellas about the men and women of both the Remington FD and 33rd precinct. Below are my observations on what makes this one stand out for me.
1) Lt. Ian Gamble. I was drawn to Gamble right away, because who can resist a damaged hero. I could feel his pain as he sat at the bar and tried to get through yet another painful anniversary. He holds his feelings close to his chest, but this stoic hunk just made my heart melt and my arms long to hold him.
2) Kennedy Matthews. A tough nut to crack herself, she pulled herself across the wrong side of the tracks and made herself a home as The Crooked Angel’s manager. Although friends with many of the cops and firefighters who come into her bar, There’s something about Gamble that speaks to her soul, too. Smart lady!
3) Old friends show up, as usual, in most series books. But this time, they seemed to fade more into the background (for me, anyway) and that allowed me to concentrate more on Gamble and Kennedy’s relationship. I like to see them, but there was no wedding/engagement/baby news from previous couples to distract for this couple.
4) The pacing was spot on. Not rushed, but not dragged out, either. Kincaid didn’t make me wait long for that first kiss, our couple’s first sexy times or for the reveal of both the bad guy and his nefarious plot. At no time did the storyline have me check my kindle for that handy percentage bar at the bottom. I was invested from start to finish.

Whether this is your first Station Seventeen book or your latest, enjoy the superb pairing of Kennedy & Gamble and the storytelling of Kimberly Kincaid.

Fantastic!

I love this series! The fictional Station Seventeen has all of the elements that a great story needs. I love how this author creates story lines and characters that meld together perfectly. It hits all required senses in regards to reading and remembering a great book. There is mystery, drama and great anticipation, as well as danger and bravery from different situations.

Gamble and Kennedy become personally aware of each other on a night that is a very emotional anniversary of Gamble’s. He wants anonymity and she feels his emotional darkness. This beginning is so good. It sucks you in and keeps you hooked and completely engaged for the entire story.

Gamble is one of the hardest nuts to crack with his quiet intenseness and being a very large, muscular man, compounds his presence. Kennedy is just as intense in her way, with her tough, don’t mess with me attitude, born from living on the “wrong side of town”, living and surviving within that rough neighborhood. I would definitely want her at my back if there was ever any trouble!

Together, Gamble and Kennedy are a perfect fit. They just want to feel like they are part of a family and to be happy. Their hot, sexy chemistry makes for a volatile relationship when each has their own way of doing things. I love this mixture of self confidence and the ability to carry it through. Trust is hard to earn but these two earn it for each other quickly.

I loved this story from beginning to end. I could have kept on reading about this couple, their future, and more of their happenings at Station Seventeen, but then all great things must have an ending. This is a Best Seller for sure!

Excellent job!

WOW! I think I need to sit down and take a breath after reading this amazing installment of the Station Seventeen series by Kimberly Kincaid. I have always wondered about the sexy Lieutenant Ian Gamble, and I could not wait to get my hands on him.....or his book!

What I love the most about the Station Seventeen stories, is that they can be read stand alone, yet each book kind of builds on the next. There are no cliff hangers, however, you will see that things that happened in previous books pop up again in each story and the characters, the situations that they face are all in a way interconnected. With that said, the reader will never feel lost in the story.

Kennedy and Gamble dance around the attraction that they feel for each other, but they both have baggage, they both have a past that makes each of them tough. But when they are the victims of a arson at the bar that Kennedy runs, and find themselves chasing and arsonist with connections to a bomb that was planted at Station Seventeen, Gamble will do whatever it takes to protect Kennedy.

Kennedy and Gamble have such a strong connection, when they let their guards down and let the other in it is magical. I love the way that Gamble tries to protect Kennedy's brother. Helping him, standing with him to bring down the arsonist, and teaming up with him to protect the woman that they both love in different ways.

I love that we get to see the characters from the previous stories, and I cannot wait to see what will happen in the future. Another amazing 5 alarm book that will keep the reader hooked from the first page to the last.

When reading the description of Down Deep by Kimberly Kincaid, it reminded me of another character of hers from the Pine Mountain series, Nick Brennan but with some major differences. Having enjoyed that book I was looking forward to this one. I was in no way disappointed. Though like Nick, deep down Ian is who he is; a firefighter who does what needs to be done to save lives.

Chasing a serial arsonist keeps this story moving with action and suspense. Ian and Kennedy keep it hot too in the romance department. Both have cares and concerns that should keep them apart but while teaming together their chemistry is ignites. This is a steamy suspense romance of two strong characters that is captivating and easily an absorbing read. No cliff hanger and can be read as a stand-alone.

I loved this book! Gamble and Kennedy’s story is one to savor. A real page-turner full of suspense and a scorching romance that will steal your heart entirely. A stand-alone in a fabulous series, Gamble’s story is one that station seventeen fans have been eagerly awaiting and one that new fans will love to sink their teeth into!

A little convoluted, I had not read the previous books so I was lost trying to figure which character was with him. I skipped parts because I was bored and some sentences were repetitive.

This series just gets better and better! This book is romantic suspense at its best!!

First the romance: We've met Ian Gamble and Kennedy Matthews in the other Station Seventeen books but I never would have guessed they would make a perfect couple. Well, they do! They GET each other. They know when to push each other and when to stand back. Gamble is intensely private and I loved watching him open up to Kennedy. Kennedy is fiercely independent and I loved watching her get close to Gamble and truly trust him. And they are absolutely steamy together!!

As for the suspense, Kimberly Kincaid can write a truly nasty villain without going over the top. I was on the edge of my seat through a few scenes which only made me read faster!

I can't wait for more books from Station Seventeen!!

Loved this book! The romance and suspense were scorching as I turned the pages until the end. This is a book that I could not put down. Gamble and Kennedy both have undesirable pasts. Gamble is a firefighter at Station Seventeen and Kennedy is the bar manager at the Crooked Angel Bar and Grill. When Kennedy finds her brother is in a mess, she teams up with Gamble to find the arsonist. But soon they can't fight the sexual chemistry that they share.

Loved, loved this story. Shows the true brotherhood of firefighters and what you do for family. This book is part of series but can be read as a stand alone.

Kimberly Kincaid’s Station 17 series just keeps getting better! The latest book, Down Deep, blends romance with lots of action and suspense. I was hooked from the first page and read almost non-stop until the end.

This book centers around Ian Gamble. He has horrific memories from when he was a Marine that he has buried down deep and carries with him always. Once a year he pays tribute to his former Marine buddies. This year he goes to The Cooked Angel, a frequent hangout for the Station 17 group. Kennedy Matthews is the manager of The Crooked Angel. Kennedy has her own troubled memories she keeps hidden. Both Ian and Kennedy are strong, independent loners and neither of them want someone in their lives they have to depend on or take care of.

The evening begins with Ian drinking to honor his buddies and numb the pain. When Kennedy announces the bar is closing, the action begins. Kennedy is confronted with a drunk customer, who she handles all by herself. Ian offers to help her close up the bar and then walk her to her car. Just as they acknowledging their mutual attraction, the bar catches on fire and the book explodes with intensity. Ian and Kennedy work together to not only find the arson, but to protect Kennedy’s brother, who seems to be involved.

I loved their journey to falling in love. Because they are such strong independent individuals, it was so satisfying to watch them learn to accept that they were so much more together than alone. This book confirms that Ms. Kincaid knows how to blend intense action with strong romantic leads. Ms. Kincaid is an auto-buy for me. I highly recommend this book.
