Ian Gamble has a past that he remembers every year. Kennedy watches him at the bar she manages that all of Station 17 frequents. She has a past that she rose above. When circumstances throw the two of them together, the sparks fly. I could not put this down. Ms. Kincaid had me laughing and crying with the characters and even sighing with jealousy at one point. Excellent addition to the series. #DeepDown #NetGalley

WOW!! I do mean WOW!! I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book!!! Kimberly Kincaid once again burns up the pages with Down Deep, the fourth book in her Station Seventeen series.

Ian Gamble wants nothing but to forget his past while at The Crooked Angel Bar and Grill when the place catches fire. With his experience as a firefighter and while in the Marines, his instincts get him and hot, headstrong bar manager, Kennedy Matthews, to safety. But those same feelings rev up when the fire is ruled an arson. Kennedy brother means the world to her and she knows he is involved and in over his head with this arsonist. She will do anything to keep him safe, which is how she ends up teaming up with the sharp-eyed and hard-bodied Gamble.

The more time Gamble and Kennedy spend together, the more attracted they become to each other. Their chemistry sizzles and Ms. Kincaid is incredible in her descriptions of the sexy time shared between these two. As the passion between Gamble and Kennedy flares hotter and hotter, from attraction to all out sizzle, they need to be careful as they try to outwit and locate this dangerous arsonist who grows more dangerous.

I totally loved reading this book. Ms. Kincaid did a fantastic job creating her characters, making them realistic, keeping the story interesting, making me forget the world around me and not letting me go until I turned the last page, wanting more. Ms. Kincaid kept this reader mesmerized with the need to see how Kennedy and Gamble would find and capture this guy and whether or not her brother would survive the torture the arsonist had in store for him. I highly recommend this book to other readers and I for one look forward to the next book in this series.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

My first Kimberly Kincaid book but it won't be my last - as usual I find a series and read it backwards LOL!

Ian and Kennedy are characters with heart and soul and really burrowed deep into my heart quickly. Kennedy was pulled in all directions after the fire at the bar and Ian was determined to save her, even from herself.

Whilst I did struggle a tad with the quick leap over the kinda friends to lovers there was a real slow bloom to the love side of the couple after the lust ignited! Great speed to the story and read it in one sitting!

Not perfect for me but pretty damn close!

Ian Gamble and Kennedy Matthews are the perfect couple! Gamble was all set to get drunk and try to forget for a while but all that came to a halt when he and Kennedy were caught in a fire at the Crooked Angel. It turned out to be suspicious and when Kennedy starts keeping secrets Gamble has to unearth they become embroiled in an ongoing arson investigation involving her brother. Will they survive without getting burned? Oh, this story was full of suspense and so much sexy banter along with so much sexy, sexy, steamy, ... , oh yeah, these two are explosive together! This can be read as a standalone but this entire series is so good I recommend each and every book.

Down Deep by Kimberly Kincaid
Station Seventeen #4

REVIEW

Ian Gamble has ghosts and every year he pays tribute to them with a drink…well…quite a few drinks. Kennedy Matthews is bartending the night Ian settles in to drink to his lost comrades and though she keeps the drinks coming she also keeps an eye on him. By the end of the evening the two have walked through fire, almost literally, and are soon to be on the case looking for an arsonist.

This is romantic suspense with an arsonist to find, a brother to help and ghosts to lay to rest. There is action and suspense, an evil villain to thwart, a brother to save, secrets to share and some things to overcome as Kennedy and Ian find their way to a HEA. Station Seventeen still has a number of people needing to find their happily ever after so I see more books in the future to read and enjoy.

Did I enjoy the book? Yes
Will I read more in the series? Yes
Did I learn anything? Yes
What did I learn? Well, I thought eidetic memory only referred to visual input but found out that it can be auditory or kinesthetic after a bit of time with google ;)

Thank you to the author, NetGalley and InkSlinger for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Ian Gamble is a fire fighter with heartbreaking memories of losing fellow Marines during his service in the armed forces. Every year he commemorates his lost comrades with a drink and this year is no exception. I dare anyone to read this opening scene without tears in the eyes, because when Gamble leaves a drink on the bar for each man down, I wiped away my tears before getting caught up in the rest of the story.

And then the rest of the story kicks off like gasoline thrown on a fire. There were sexy times followed by a bar-burning fire, followed by family drama and more danger. As with other Kincaid stories, family plays an important part of the story. Kennedy is very protective of her brother, and then that extends to Gamble. The romance between Gamble and Kennedy blazes quickly, and is intermingled with the dangerous hunt for an arsonist. The ending is a little abrupt, but it's a good ending (or this would be getting some hate from me).

Kimberly Kincaid excels in writing stories with lots of action (yes, I mean the dangerous kind...get your mind out of the gutter!). Down Deep is an action-packed entry into the series.

Exciting well written romance

Kimberly Kincaid did a good job when she paired Kennedy and Ian. Both are characters who have experienced pain and sorrow but somehow together they heal each other.
The arson subplot was well defined and moved believable through the story.

Once again Kimberly Kincaid has brought us a story from Station Seventeen filled with heat, heart, and passion. In this fourth book in the series we get the story of Ian Gamble and Kennedy Mathews. As with all the books you can read this one standalone but do yourself a favor and read this entire series. There is a wonderful twist of romance and suspense that will keep you turning page after page.

Gamble is a firefighter at Station Seventeen who is looking for one night to drown his sorrows and memories. All of that comes to an end when a fire breaks out at the bar Kennedy Mathews manages and Gamble is currently occupying. Gamble gets them out safely but the real trouble starts when the fire is determined to be the work of an arson and Kennedy is not being as truthful as she should be. Caught in the middle Gamble works with arson investigators and Kennedy to get to the truth about what happened that night all while fighting the attraction that is smoldering between him and Kennedy. Can they get to the truth without getting burned?

I highly recommend this one.

Ian and Kennedy. Whoa. What an amazing story! I was enthralled from start to finish. Rusty was seriously deranged and had me on the edge of my seat a couple times. Gamble and Kennedy’s chemistry was off the charts. I didn’t want this book to end!

Our hero, Ian Gamble, is a lieutenant at Remington's Station Seventeen fire station. A former Marine, he is drinking alone at the The Crooked Angel Bar and Grill, the hangout for the fire station, to commemorate the anniversary of the deaths of his team-mates on his last mission. The last thing he needs to be distracted by is the hot bar manager with the intriguing tattoo and piercings.

Kennedy Matthews has dragged herself out of North Point's worst neighbourhood by her finger nails to have a career, an apartment and a life she is proud of, but she hasn't forgotten the survival skills she honed from growing up in an area rife with crime, drugs and prostitution.

When Kennedy and Gamble are alone in the bar late at night someone sets off a fire in the dumpster behind the bar, Gamble thinks it could be a disgruntled customer that Kennedy forcibly ejected from the bar but something about the way Kennedy reacts to the car they see speeding away from the scene.

Soon Kennedy and Gamble are embroiled in investigating an arsonist who plans to detonate explosions in several buildings across Remington.

So, I've decided that this series is a sub-genre I like to call sexy-suspense. The books are a pretty good mash-up of a sexy contemporary fire-fighter romance and a romantic thriller. So you get some quite graphic and scary descriptions of fire-starting and the seedier side of life, together with loads of smokin' hot sex (pun intended).

I thoroughly enjoyed this, the plot was engaging and fast-paced, the villains were suitably dastardly and the smexy times were steamy. Even better? Kennedy avoided the classic TSTL mistakes of other heroines so kudo for that.

Recommended for those who like more plot with their romance, more sex with their thriller and two tough characters who fall in love naturally without any manufactured angst.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

I had completely forgot I had read book 3 in this same series. Which is how forgettable book 3 was.

Kimberly Kincaid redeem herself. The characters jump off the page right away so you never questions why they are doing what they are going. She is able to develop the characters more quickly without talking about their looks over and over again. The story, sexual tension was perfect but after they have sex the main story drops off and the characters are filled with sex during the middle of the book but once again picks up right at the end.

The bad guy was creepy and the good guys where perfect.

Its a fast summer that fans of Station Seventeen will love. If you want to start with book four it is a stand alone novel. The author updates readers throughout the book of what happened in the other stories without slowing down the pace of this story.

Thank you to Netgalley and the author for the advance copy of Kimberly Kincaid Down Deep.

I absolutely LOVED this Station 17 story. It's more of a thriller than some of Kincaid's earlier stories but while a former Force Recon marine, a bartender from the wrong side of the tracks and her brother are forced to deal with an arsonist who is is terrorizing Remington, there's plenty of heat in the bedroom too.
The book stands well on it's own but, those who have followed the series will love the cameos from the Station 17 staff and the chance to get reacquainted the intelligence unit from the RPD who have played such an important role in previous novels.
Down Deep is a heart stopping, mile a minute barn burner that deals with the bonds of family, both those that are blood and those we accept into our lives that will throw surprise after surprise at you, right down to the final pages.
I you love hot firemen, great suspense smart, tough heroines who give as good as they get, this book needs to go on the very top of your TBR.

Kincaid's writing is fresh and clever, full of slang and easy to follow. Despite having not read the other books in this Station Seventeen series, I never felt lost. The story and the characters hooked me from the beginning.

Lt. Ian Gamble and Kennedy Matthews have dramatically different backgrounds, but when they cross paths at The Crooked Angel bar and grill, their lives are each stuck in an oddly similar place. Their physical connection is immediate and very hot! The emotional connection comes soon after and is complicated by finding themselves entangled in the plot of a serial arsonist. Fast paced, snappy dialogue, and a terrific cast of supporting characters - there's a lot to love here!

Absolutely recommended. Been craving a good firefighter series and found it in this book. New-to-me author too, and looking forward to getting caught up on her catalog.

An amazing romance full of fire! Ian Gamble and Kennedy Matthews definitely bring the heat! I loved these characters. I had not read the other books in this series so I wasn't real sure what to expect- I was engroused the entire read.

Kimberly Kincaid wrote a romance that you become emotionally invested in while mesmerizied by the suspense/thriller aspect as a serial arsonist ravages the city.

To say that ‘Down Deep’ has got ‘lasting power’ makes it rather cringeworthy without the other kinds of innuendos that will probably come up here given the genre that I’m reviewing. Yet I’ve put book down and taken it up numerous times not because of boredom (but because of other things calling) and never once did I feel that it was difficult to get back into the flow of the story.

It’s easy and exciting enough to follow, the rather slow burn and build-up aside. But then, Kimberly Kincaid’s ‘Station Seventeen’ series has not really disappointed me from its inception, through the pairings of first responders with the law-enforcement people that have become par for the course.

Kincaid effortlessly weaves the community of the firefighters into the suspense and action in Station Seventeen—each book builds subtly and slowly on an arc about arson but they work just as well as a standalone—and while it isn’t an unusual take on firefighting romances, it’s Kincaid’s vivid and engaging writing that always makes her stories stand out. Both Ian and Kennedy were good protagonists to follow as well; I loved the latter’s fierce protectiveness of her wayward brother above all, her tenacious hold on never giving up on him, along with the take-no-shit attitude with Gamble when he tries to ghost her away.

I did however, struggle with Kennedy/Ian’s connection going beyond lust and need in the heat of the moment, finely-tuned as it was because of the circumstances that pushed them together. I got that they cared about each other, liked each other even, but the transition to love felt tenuous nonetheless, more so when their brand of love seemed to be defined as a heart-to-heart talk combined with stratospheric sex. The rushed conclusion (that was strangely more telling than showing) and the rather odd fade-to-black climax scene threw me off as well, along with some strings that seemed to be left hanging by the end of the story.

So while not everything worked out for me like clockwork, ‘Down Deep’ was still a pretty good take on the kind of suspense that revolves around arson and firefighting—there’re just too few of these around—and I’m infinitely grateful that Kincaid fills this gap with this series.

Once again , this talented author gives us a story that is not only engaging, but whose characters are complex and interesting.
This book belongs to Ian Gamble and Kennedy Matthews. Ian is a former Marine whose last mission still causes him anguish .He is currently an engine lieutenant of Station Seventeen. Kennedy is the bar manager of the bar the station members frequent. Her one weakness is her brother. Both have secrets and both have had heartbreaks.
When a fire occurs at the bar, the action begins as well as the attraction. Will they be able to uncover the truths and in doing so, will they go their separate ways or will they give trust and love a chance?
Another great addition to this series.
I was entrusted this copy by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Gamble was just a sexy man, that got all alpha at times, “be careful,” Gamble ground out against her mouth, his ***k throbbing behind the fly of his jeans. “I bite back.” Gamble likes to take his time on some things, “that was before I watched you come. Now, I’m going to do so much more than take you quick and dirty. Now”— he raked a stare over her in the dusky shadows of his bedroom —“ I want you to come for me like that all effing night.” I liked this book, I fell in love with Gamble.

The latest in Ms. Kincaid’s Station Seventeen Series will keep you on edge from start to finish. It can be read as a stand alone, but it’s a great reunion with characters from the firehouse and the police department working on a dangerous case involving an arsonist.

Ian Gamble, former Marine and an engine Lieutenant for Station Seventeen is a bit of a loner, and on this particular day, wants to keep it that way. He is acknowledging a terrible event that happened seven years ago, and he gets very drunk every year on the anniversary. He is at the Crooked Angels Bar, a place frequented by police and firefighters. Kennedy Matthews, bar manager and bartender is intrigued by Ian’s unusual heavy drinking. She calls him the big broody lieutenant, but he seems exceptionally down tonight.

Kennedy is a very independent woman, who wants to be in control. She is covered in beautiful tattoos and lots of piercings. What happens at her bar the night Ian is there getting drunk, sends their casual relationship into high gear. A fire breaks out in a dumpster behind the bar, and Ian drags her out and calls 911. The bar is not too badly damaged, but it turns out the fire is just a test for a madman arsonist, and her brother is inexplicably involved. What follows is a race to catch a psychopath before he burns down the city, not caring who dies.

The story is very sexy, action packed and the ending totally surprised me!
If you like firefighter, romance and action, you will love this story.

Thank you to Kimberly Kincaid Romance and Netgalley for the opportunity to review this book.

Down Deep by Kimberly Kincaid is the 4th book in the Station 19 series. Gamble and Kennedy go well together. They are both extremely stubborn and have a knack for loyalty. They may disagree about the way they each show the loyalty but they see each others side and compromise just as a couple should. This book is filled with plenty of action and I can't wait to see what else Kincaid has in store for us throughout the rest of this series.
