What a treat! 2 stories from Samantha Chase in one book. She continues to amaze me with her writing. Enjoyable fun romance.

I loved this story, as Taylor & Mike were friends from years ago but lost touch. Taylor works as a reporter & due to a story she was assigned she was reconnected with Mike, who knew everything about the subject of the story Jonathon Wade. Mike had been the reason Taylor had been given the assignment & enjoyed catching up with her. While Taylor was getting information about Jonathon from Mike, sparks flew & they grew closer. Taylor had to decide if she was going to write this interview that would launch her writing career or choose love instead.

Sawyer & his father work together on a home makeover show & needed a new angle for a new episode. They found their new client in Caroline, a widow who is trying to get her house ready to sell. Sawyer wasn't too happy about it but knew they had to do this makeover.

Caroline's daughter Regan was not happy that her Mom was going to have the house changed as she has memories from the house, of growing up & her late father. She was against this redo & not only butted heads with her Mom who was all for the makeover but also with Sawyer. I loved these characters.

Samantha Chase is a wonderful writer, and these two previously-published novellas in one volume are a treat.

Exclusive

Taylor Scott is shocked when she is offered an exclusive interview that everyone covets with reclusive mystery writer Jonathan Wade. In her research on the author, she notes the detective character in his books is constantly searching for the one woman who got away.

"What must it be like - to be the object of one man's fantasies? To know there was a man out there who was consumed with thoughts of you and who would move heaven and earth if he could, just to be with you?"

Taylor doesn't know it, but the fantasy is about to become reality.

A Touch of Heaven

Regan Amerson and her mother, Caroline, have made the emotional decision to sell their family home, when Caroline wins a home makeover. Max Bennett and his son, Sawyer, are the stars of The Bennett Project, a home improvement show, that will handle the renovation.

Max and Caroline show that you're never too old to find love, while Regan and Sawyer prove that home is truly where the heart resides.

Exclusive
Taylor is a journalist who works for a dinky little publication with dreams of making it big. Why in the world some big time author has decided that she is the perfect person for this reveal piece makes no sense to her - or anyone else. When she meets the reclusive writer's assistant, Mike, it's a blast from the past that is no coincidence. Taylor and Mike hit it off which makes Taylor dream about what it maybe would have been like if things had worked out differently way back when. When things take a turn in her story, will love work out for these two the second time? Their fight was impressive and I was certainly on Taylor's side - but Mike's groveling was a good comeback. I was rooting for these two the whole story - I thought they were fabulous together!

A Touch of Heaven
Regan is less than thrilled that her mother is finally ready to move on in life and sell her childhood home. When she wins a home reno and drags a network show into the mix, Regan is ready to lose her mind. Enter the gorgeous show host Sawyer - who was ready to walk away from his show until he met her. These two played an interesting game of chase, but they found their groove and aside from it being secret, things worked well. I enjoyed Regan's mother and Sawyer's father together - Carolyn would have definitely driven me crazy on more than one occasion if I was in Regan's shoes. The TV producer was a sleaze and I had a bad feeling about him when we first met - I was absolutely yelling at my kindle when he tries to destroy everything. It takes some epic heartbreak and a little magic but these two were a perfect match. I absolutely LOVED the epilogue - it was a perfect ending!

Samantha Chase did not disappoint in these two stories! If I had to choose a favorite, I probably couldn't. They were both very sweet in their own ways. I loved the reconnection between Taylor and Mike in Exclusive. And I really loved the character of Sawyer in A Touch of Heaven. They're both very quick reads, and just a great HEA.

4 1/2 STARS

I really enjoyed both these books and I think they go great together in this box set.

With Exclusive, I wondered what kind of title that was (I didn't read the synopsis) but I quicky found out. Actually, both of these books let you know where the title came from early on.

I would definitely recommend both of these books. They are great story lines and have that sweet factor with them. Grab your copy.

In Exclusive, journalist Taylor Scott gets the story of a lifetime when she is assigned to write an article about the elusive, reclusive novelist, Jonathan Wade. When she arrives at his farm in Maine, she’s surprised to be greeted by Mike Greene, the best friend of her high school boyfriend. They have a chance to get reacquainted, clear up old misunderstandings, and grow closer together.

I loved the premise for this story and thought the hero was great, but I found myself getting annoyed with Taylor's temper tantrums. She ran hot and cold enough to give me whiplash, and she didn’t seem to see a need for apologizing when she was in the wrong. I have little patience with a selfish, entitled main character for two reasons. I think it sends the message that we can treat others however we want but everything will work out in the end, and it always makes me question why the other character would want to be with a person like this. I think if you go into the story anticipating this character flaw you’ll have an enjoyable read because the hero is a terrific guy and the story was compelling and entertaining.

A Touch of Heaven is a story about a mother and daughter, Caroline and Regan, who come to terms with major life changes when Caroline gets an offer to have her house renovated for a reality TV series by a father and son team, Max and Sawyer Bennett. Regan, in particular has a difficult time with changes to her childhood home, although she came to terms with Carolina’s plan to sell the too large home. It doesn’t matter that she's attracted to the hunky host, Sawyer, because she resents what he represents for her family home.

I was a little concerned that this would be a repeat of the heroine's character flaws in Exclusive because Regan came across as selfish and rigid in the beginning. But Sawyer worked his charm and Regan laid down her quills and got with the program, redeeming herself and making me like her in the end, despite the clichéd conflict at the story's climax. I also loved the romance between Caroline and Max, reminding us that love is timeless and new love can find us at any age. I thoroughly enjoyed this lighthearted romance with surprising depth, and I was sad to see the story end.

3.5 Hearts These are about even in review. The romance is sweet and well written. They were both released before.

I enjoyed the second story more just because it was something a bit different than many other romance novels. But both are worth the read. And both are quick reads.

Exclusive and A Touch of Heaven were two very sweet romances with great characters I loved and secondary characters who I enjoyed just as much as our protagonists. Both books keep you turning the pages until the very end.

I love everything Samantha Chase writes and these stories did not disappoint. I am not sure that I could pick a favorite couple, both Taylor and Mike as well as Regan and Sawyer were so much fun to read. I laughed along as both heroines dealt with these men in their lives and rooted for them to find their happy ever after.

I was surprised by the combination of these two stories in a compilation.  They are both a little more risque than we are used to from Ms. Chase.  However it was refreshing to see her do these.  Both of these were published as novellas earlier in her career, so it is kind of a revamp of her backlist.  However you get two really great stories for the price of one so it is definitely worth it.

Exclusive is about a reclusive author trying to connect with a chance at love.  Mike has loved Taylor from afar and finally feels like he's in a place to reach our to her to see if the spark he thought was there years ago is really there.  Lucky for him it is.  The only thing I wasn't so keen on was the subterfuge he used to get Taylor to his place in Maine.  The rest of the story was wonderful.  I loved the yacht excursion and you can see a much steamier side of Samantha in this one.  As always, you get your HEA without any indication there will be more to come.  It is also a very fast read.

A Touch of Heaven is more rom-com and starts off with a blinged t-shirt that even I had trouble with.  Regan and her Mom run this very nice day spa and find themselves on a reality tv show during the renovations of their family home before putting it up for sale.  Both Regan and her mom fall madly in love with the father soon host of the reality show and there are several comedy scenes involved as their relationships run their course to HEAs for both of them.  It is a heartwarming story that actually has sex in it.  Don't be shocked, we were all pretty sure she could write them, even if they are rare.  Take a turn with Samantha's sexier side.  You won't regret it.

I'm scoring these 4 of 5 because I loved them but they were too short.  It was over almost before it started.

Wow this book is one of the best I’ve read of 2018. An even better it has two, yes two fantastic stories for your pleasure to read. Big fan of this author and these are two of her best stories I’ve had the absolute pleasure of reading. Amazing storylines, fantastic characters that are likeable and relatable right through the book and their passion and romance just leaped of the pages right at me. Didn’t want to put this book down but with two stories to read I had to but could just pick right up and didn’t miss a thing as the stories just stayed right with you even days later. I would absolutely recommend this book to all book lovers out there and a big massive well done to Samantha Chase on this fantastic book.

Two short stories in one. I'm a huge fan of Ms. Chase but not of short stories, though these might be somewhat of an exception.

In Exclusive, Taylor is a struggling journalist when she gets an exclusive opportunity to interview a reclusive author. When she arrives to begin her background work, she's greeted by the author's assistant, Mike Greene who was a friend to one of her boy friends. Apparently she had made a huge impression on Mike that caused him to turn his life around and hence his payback now. The two of them have great chemistry which they have the chance to explore but as it turns out Mike is hiding secrets that eventually take Taylor to the cross roads of career versus romance.

In A Touch of Heaven, Regan is struggling with her mother's decision to make over and sell her childhood home. To make matters worse the house is going to be featured in a do it yourself home make over show. The relationship with Sawyer starts off as acrimonious but soon warms up even as they keep is low key and hidden from all the other characters. The big blow up and the sweet tender ending are perfect.

While both stories cover the essence of what attracts me to Ms. Chase's writing I just feel that short stories don't give the opportunities for character and story development that a full length novel does. Having said that I believe that the author does a great job with these two stories.

Exclusive and A Touch of Heaven are two wonderful stories in one book.. You get so wrapped up in the characters in both stories, the female's are spunky and headstrong. If you are looking for feel-good books with guaranteed happily-ever-after endings, I recommend this book because you get two great stories in one. . I’ve truly enjoyed these stories.

Love this re release of Ms Chase's two stand alone novels.
The story Samantha Chase weaves in "Exclusive" is like a fairy tale. Taylor is requested to do an exclusive interview with a famously reclusive author that everyone reads but no one has ever seen. She takes a real leap of faith going to a small town in Maine not knowing anything or anyone. The caretaker Mike happens to be someone Taylor knew a long long time ago. They spend time together catching up before she meets the author....... A swoon worthy Cinderella story. Totally worth the read.

"A Touch of Heaven" shows Ms. Chase's love of all things HGTV. A home makeover star approaches Caroline while she is buying paint to get ready to sell her house and offer a makeover. She's totally on board but her daughter Regan is totally against both. Selling the house and the makeover. The producer loves it, trying to pit mother and daughter for drama to spruce up the show.
Another hit story from Samantha Chase. I loved both these books and highly recommend them.

I can’t believe I’ve never read either of these stories before! While I enjoyed both, I confess that Exclusive, with old friends Taylor and Mike, was more my style than the reality-show flavor of A Touch of Heaven.
The whole premise behind a reclusive best-selling author and the reporter hired to write a story on him was intriguing and fresh, even if I had guessed his identity. But the journey to discovery is delightfully sidetracked by the reacquaintance of Mike, the author’s assistant, and Taylor, our plucky reporter. I loved watching their love story unfold!
A Touch of Heaven was a tougher sell for me. I’m not a fan of reality tv, unless we’re talking about dancing stars! The over-the-top drama...whether real or hyped...isn’t my idea of entertainment. So while I liked Sawyer, and Regan, although to a lesser degree, I think the setting of the story distracted me a bit. It was almost an insta-love story, but well written with interesting characters, like every other book I’ve read by Samantha Chase.
So a combined rating of 4 stars for this fun and romantic duo!

Not one but two Samantha Chase gems, I am so here for this!!!
Exclusive is one of my favorite types of romances, a second chance romance! White, A Touch of Heaven combines my love of HGTV and romance flawlessly!!! The best part of this duo is that you get to see how skilled Samantha Chase is at building worlds, crafting snappy dialogue, and giving just enough steamy chemistry to keep you turning the pages!

Samantha Chase Duet - Yes Please!

This duet it 2 stand alone books, each fabulous on their own. Both stories take a couple who need to navigate various obstacles and misunderstandings before finding their own HEA! Both have characters and situations anyone might find in real life, and are written in a way that draws the reader from the first pages through to the end. I found myself easily picturing places and situations, feeling the feelings of the characters and enjoying these books to the end. Highly recommended!

Thank you to NetGalley and Samantha Chase for the opportunity to read and review an ARC of this book. I am providing my honest review.

Samantha Chase knows just how to reel you in for these two unexpected romances. She'll draw you in, make you fall for the characters and then rip your heart out right before putting the pieces back together. I definitely had to console myself with chocolate during this one, but will definitely be reading both stories again!
