Gavin was on my radar from the very beginning. I tend to be interested in the most baggage carrying character, the man who needs the most care and love.

Gavin and Kenna certainly had a lot of issues between the two of them but in this case, Kenna's certainly seemed to be much more difficult to work through. Gavin was so loving and made it clear what he wanted from Kenna.

Kenna had made some very bad decisions where men were concerned and in many ways, compromised her own ability to consent on many things. She chose men who were more about themselves and what they wanted and she ended up high and dry and very unhappy.

The biggest thing I took away from this was Gavin and his ability to give Kenna herself back. He constantly made sure that she knew she was in charge and had the ability to make her own decisions. Gavin was certainly a patient man and Kenna was a very spirited and determined woman, which Gavin loved about her.

I've really enjoyed this series and I'm sad that it is ending.

4.5* Oh Gavin how you break my heart! I absolutely loved Gavin - he definitely fits the saying strong and silent. He doesn't say much but when he does everyone listens. He has scars from his past that follow him to this day. When he met McKenna through mutual friends he started falling for her but she's not what he needs. He needs someone that's going to be around for the long haul, not just for a night.

McKenna has her own scars that make her the way she is. When Gavin and her get stuck in an elevator she helps him through the experience. It makes Gavin feel even more for her.

I loved how Gavin was with McKenna, he may be scared but he talks to her about everything. He gives her pieces of himself that others don't get. When McKenna needs him the most, he's there for her. When she's confused and lost, he tries to show her the way.

Will Gavin be able to make her see that they're perfect for each other or will she be too scared to reach for what she wants?

Why am I just now finding this series!? Wow! Heather Van Fleet wrote an amazing story! Gavin and McKenna were so perfectly imperfect! I love a heroine that is not cookie cutter (for lack of a better word). Kenna was so messy and it was wonderful! Gavin - WHEW! Loved this book and can't wait for more from this author!!

Beautifully written hard fought romance. I truly enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it.

I have received this book via Netgalley.

Recklessly ever after surprised me. I like my males dominant and alpha. Gavin didn’t fit this type but he totally won me over. Gavin is an ex-marine and wants life to be easy. His past means he likes stability and routine. He chooses the sensible option.

McKenna is a loose cannon and a commitment-phobic. She is everything Gavin should stay away from. She likes her guys easy and short-term.

Stuck in a lift, Gavin needs to take his mind off the situation. He finds himself lip-locked with the girl he wants most, but she gives him the brush off as soon as it’s over. Gavins determined to get what he wants even if he has to play it safe.

McKenna has been let down by too many people to consider dating. She doesn’t get close to people. Only a few have broken down her walls. She works as a nurse and has a busy life. She wants the easy one night stand kind of guys. She knows she should stay away from Gavin but one night with him will change her forever.

I liked that the girl is the one doing the running. She doesn’t want commitment and this works really well in this book. Both characters have a troubled past and are perfect for each other. Gavin is a sweet patient guy who turned out very likeable. As I said, I like a strong alpha and Gavin has too many demons to fit this type, but the author creates a perfect guy. I really enjoyed this book. The twists made the story work well. It had some funny moments and some sexy scenes.

4.5 stars out of 5. *I received an ARC as part of the blog tour. The first two books are on offer at the moment and I had to have them. Recklessly ever after is the third book in the series and the characters do feature in this one but I don’t think reading them in the wrong order will affect my enjoyment. It just shows something different from the usual can be good!

I REALLY enjoyed this book! This was my first book by Heather Van Fleet and it checked all my boxes. An ex-Marine who is AMAZING with children???? UM, YES. She writes what we want to hear and I LOVE it. I enjoyed the pace and it kept me wanting more. Just the right amount of tension. I will definitely be reading more from Heather!!

So glad to finally get Gavin's story, and it doesn't disappoint! We finally learn all about Gavin's past and how it's affected him as he was introduced into the series. I liked that while McKenna is attracted to Gavin, she's doing what she can to keep him at bay; she's also got her own issues that factor into the story as well.

Gavin and McKenna are perfectly, imperfect. He sets carefully placed boundaries to keep him on course. She lives in the moment. Apart they are two halves of a whole. Together they become a combustible force that is destined to have lasting consequences. Recklessly Ever After is a walk on the wild side. In our minds, we think we have life all figured out until fate surprises us by changing all of our plans. Fleet turns temptation into forever and shakes up the heart along the way.

This is the first book I've read in this series. But it had no impact on my enjoyment of it. Even though I got the impression, the other two stories were playing out at the same time.

And I liked the two main characters, Gavin and McKenna. Although if I'm honest Gavin for me really outshone McKenna. Whom at times I found quite frustrating, and Gavin was the character who pulled me in and engaged me throughout.

Yet, I did enjoy the relationship the pair eventually created. But, it did take a while to get there. And I did like the way the author dealt with Gavin's demons and depression. I also thought there was a nice mix of sweetness, heat and emotion. And I found the secondary characters likable, particularly the two other couples. As well as 15 month old Chloe, who was a cute and fun addition to the story.

And my interest was certainly peaked by these characters to want to go back and read their stories. And I'd happily recommend this story to others. Especially if you are a fan of the series.

This book started too slow for me but I was quickly pulled in to the anxiety, drama, and self-doubt that seemed to fuel Gavin and McKenna's relationship. Of all the characters in this story, I loved Gavin the most, but who wouldn't? He is a strong guy that shows his fears but also knows when to ask for help when he needs it. McKenna is a confusing character that seemed confident when she first met Gavin but was truly scared to go for a real relationship. Gavin's crazy guy friends broke up the sad moments in this book and made this a really sweet love story that I really enjoyed reading.

Rating 5/5

McKenna is hands down the star of this show. Her internal struggles and complicated life makes her so damn relatable that I doubt anyone who reads this won't be able to relate in some way. It was also so refreshing to see the female lead as the one with the inner turmoil and chaotic backstory - I often read of the males being designed like this, especially in contemporary romances. Gavin's loyalty and love for her was so adorable and cherishing - it was nice to see a sensitive male after reading about a bunch of broody ones for a while lol.

This is the final book in a series and can be read as a stand alone, however, you'll appreciate that ending more if you read the first two books. I received a copy from NetGalley and the publisher for my honest review.

This is an incredible series that I personally think should be read in order to get the most enjoyment out of these wonderful, well-developed, amazing characters! I knew from the moment Gavin was introduced to us in Book #1 (Reckless Hearts) that I wanted to know what made him tick and we definitely got his story in Book #3. I knew he was a broken man and I knew I would cry tears and I wasn't wrong, but the journey was so well worth it! I would warn you that at first glance, you may not like McKenna's character all that much, but please stick with it, because the growth of these two broken souls is what makes this such an extraordinary read. I fell hard for Collin in Book #1, I laughed with Max and at Max in Book #2 (The Right Kind of Reckless) andGavin broke my heart in Book #3. I grew to love their female counterparts even more throughout this whole series. And then there's Chloe-the glue that holds them all together--couldn't ask for a more perfect little person to round out this group of flawed, but all so sweet & sexy men. And let me say, the epilogue had me in tears, but it couldn't have been more perfect! Excellent 5+ star, contemporary romance series that I think is a "must read"! I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.

A cute story, with a role reversal in dealing with the major conflict of the book. This was a welcomed change for me, as most authors write the dilemma the same way.

I loved Gavin's back story and all his little quirks. I loved how his friends really got him and didn't let him hide when that's what he thought he needed. Loved Kenna's character and her own inner conflict.

While this book is part of a series, it can be read as a stand alone.

Captivating and emotionally charged, this book will leave breathless by the end. I loved this couple and their journey because there is a ring of authenticity to their story. The issues they confront within themselves and as a couple were at times heart wrenching and frustrating but In the end so so sweet. This is a must must read. I guarantee it's a keeper.

This book is the final book in this series. And I liked it but found it lacking something. The characters is lovely and I liked them. But I think this book was not for me. Maybe I was not in the mood for it.

I was given this book to write an honest review.

I liked the sound of it, but it was very stereotypical of the genre. I was expecting more and something a little different. Not for me.

Gavin St. James carries a lot of wounds under his shield of armor, most of them from a unstable childhood, and then a few that he picked while serving in the military overseas; and you can't see the things he has witnessed without being a little closed off. He leads a fairly private life, most of the time he'd prefer to be alone, but occasionally he socializes with a close knit group of trusted friends; and has never really given much thought to settling down and opening his life to another person, to do so would expose a past he'd like to keep hidden.

But then a breath of fresh air blows into his life, and turns it upside down with her chaotic approach, and for the first time in his life he considers letting someone in... all the way in, and it's downright unsettling. The moment he met McKenna he knew she was it for him, but she doesn't do strings or forever's, she is more of a one and done kind of girl, she has no choice but to be that way, with the past she has endured. But he sees the potential they have, and is a very determined man, one who plans to be the first to convince her to stay.

Recklessly Ever After is an emotionally rich tale that that will tug on your heartstrings, and make you really feel the words, hurt and all! These characters were perfectly suited for one another, even if it took them some time to figure it out, but once they did it was nothing but fireworks... and of course some serious angst! These characters come bearing many flaws and old wounds, ones that often pushed them to their breaking points, but you could also see personal growth as the story progressed, which not only gave them a realistic quality, but also made them easy to connect to. This was a such pleasurable read, the story line emoted many feelings and swoons, and it kept me invested from start to finish. Highly recommend!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

This is the conclusion of the Reckless Hearts, series. At times it was a little confusing because the three books are kind of being played out at the same time. So some Deja vu from the other two books. Other than that, I loved Recklessly Ever After. Gavin deserved a happy ever after so badly. I cried when his childhood was being told. I had a real hard time at first liking Mckenna. But she grew on me.

There is a lot of unfulfilled potential in Recklessly Ever After that, at the end of the day, made this a disappointing read for me. Childhood abuse, cold, unloving parents, and PTSD are issues that are addressed in this book, but never get the attention they deserve and except for the PTSD, the experiences that Gavin and Kenna go through seemed, for the most part, unexplained making their issues seem contrived rather than something I could empathize with.

This is book 3 in Reckless Hearts series from Heather Van Fleet and one that I’d been waiting for. While I wasn’t a huge fan of Collin and Addie’s story in book one, Max and Lia grabbed my heart in book 2. I’ve been waiting anxiously for Gavin’s story, his quiet, tortured character my favorite type of book hero. Reckless Ever After starts strong, with Gavin and Kenna trapped in an elevator. The claustrophobic Gavin starts to come unglued and Kenna’s vivaciousness gets him through with a hot kiss tacked on right before the doors open. It’s at the point that I started flipping pages back and forth, trying to tie paragraphs and character actions together as Gavin appears to unclasp Kenna’s bra after she’s stopped the kiss and walked away, but it didn’t make any sense at all.

These types of inconsistencies were present more often than not and played a bigger role as Kenna flip flopped almost every chapter in her commitment (or lack of) to Gavin. Kenna had a miserable childhood because her mother couldn’t deal with her outgoing, impulsive personality. She sent her away to live with her father, who basically ignored her leaving Kenna feeling unloved and incapable of loving. This drives her relationships, especially after being cheated on by her previous boyfriend. I liked that the girl who appeared to be happy go lucky really had issues, but I struggled to really understand her. She really doesn’t seem to undergo any sort of character growth until the end.

Gavin was more likable, though not what I expected. Over the first two books he’s portrayed as reclusive and he constantly tells us he’s an introvert, but between him and Kenna, he was definitely the more balanced and outgoing, at least with his friends. His background story, like Kenna’s, is horrible, filled with abuse he’s not shared with anyone, but felt forced for storyline purposes. I enjoyed his introspections and dedication to making a real relationship with Kenna. Like her, he flip flops over important plot points, but gets it together much sooner.

There are bright moments in Recklessly Ever After, especially the epilogue which was meaningful as it gives readers a look at all the characters a few years down the road. The friendship between Gavin, Collin, and Max shines through and is a lot of fun. But, it was hard to keep up with all the inconsistencies, which stalled the pace of the book.

2.5/5 Stars
