WOW!!! RECKLESSLY EVER AFTER by Heather Van Fleet is a very intense story. Collin, Gavin and Max best friends since their time in the military find love. Gavin comes from a past filled with life changing abuse. McKenna also has a history of abuse and neglect. Both find healing in each other, but it's not an easy road. I couldn't put this book down once I started reading.

We meet Gavin and McKenna when they get stuck in a hospital elevator together. These two already know each other thanks to mutual friends. We instantly learn that Gavin is half in love with her and she doesn't do any types of commitment.
Honestly, I was sucked in at chapter one. the next three chapters did nothing for me and I wanted to quit. But I plowed through and am glad I did because I was hooked again!
Once you get to chapter 5, this book is SO GOOD!
After one night together and a few weeks later. BAM - McKenna finds out she is pregnant!

Have I gained your attention?

McKenna doesn't want to keep the baby and Gavin does. Talk about a reverse role type of book since it is usually the mom wanting to keep the baby and not the dad.

Great ending. That's all I'm saying.

This is book 3 in the series. It can be read on its own, but I feel like you miss out on the prior stories. Both prior stories were good ones and also worth reading.

Excited to finally getting to read Gavin’s story, I was not disappointed. From the previous two books in the series, we knew Gavin had some issues from the military, with McKenna, I knew she would steamroll her way into his heart. When their night together has lasting consequences, things start changing, but McKenna is the one to fight it and Gavin finds himself in the battle of his life.
I loved this book and can’t wait to read more from Heather Van Fleet.

McKenna and Gavin are opposites in almost every way. She's impulsive and talkative while he's thoughtful and quiet. But when they get together sparks fly and they complement each other. I really enjoyed this romance and the way they each made the other a better person. Sexy sweet romance

Yay! Finally, after Reckless Hearts and The Right Kind of Reckless, the story about Gavin. We met him as the broody friend in the first to books, but now we learn why and how Gavin got all messed up. And we meet McKenna, who gets stuck in an elevator with Gavin.
Gavin is not the only one with issues. And although McKenna is attracted to Gavin, she wants to hold him at a distance. But they get thrown together and then sparks are flying.

Although I really liked the story and I was very happy to see Gavin get his happily ever after. The story of Max and Lia was just a little bit less dark and more funny. Fortunately they are also in this story, so altogether this is a wonderful conclusion of the series. Heather, thank you very much for these wonderful stories. They stole my heart!
Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

This was my first Heather Van Fleet book. It won't be my last. It was an emotional journey with delightful characters. I can't wait to read more of her books.

I received an arc from Netgalley. This book is about two people who did not feel worthy of love due to their past. It was a hard read at times due to abuse and mistreatment but a great love story.

There were parts of this book that I liked and parts that I didn’t. It took me a bit to get into the characters. I haven’t read the other books in the series, so I had to figure some things out as I went along.
There were some errors in the book, sometimes mistakes wth the characters names that were confusing. This book was read as an ARC, so maybe the errors were corrected before it was published.
I give the book 3 stars.

A very decentromance, gritty and not to the touch! The characters were well flushed out and likable as people.

I love the Reckless Hearts series, and I've been waiting not-so-patiently for Gavin's book since the beginning! Of course I love Gavin. I have since Book 1, because there was something so special about him right off the bat. But McKenna is the real star of RECKLESSLY EVER AFTER.

McKenna is emotionally messy. Being in her head is like being on a roller coaster--you ride the highs and the lows with her as she navigates her relationship with Gavin. But instead of the usual, put-together heroine who is there to save the hero, like in most romance novels with a broody hot dude like Gav, Heather Van Fleet wrote Kenna as a real person with her own issues.

She has a history with her family as well as with men that she doesn't quite want to face. She is unsure of whether or not she wants to pursue Gavin and the challenges that pop up in the story. She feels, she emotes, she makes mistakes, and she has regrets. (Gee, sound like anyone you know? How about EVERYONE I know?!!) She also loves fiercely, once she's on the right track.

McKenna Brewer is the heroine that romance has been waiting for. Heroines don't have to be perfect, they don't have to follow a formula, and they don't have to have everything in order. When love hits, it hits, and sometimes things are messy when that happens--even with a hottie like Gavin St. James. Her imperfections, confusion, and fears are what make Kenna a breath of fresh air as far as heroines on my romance shelf go. Through it all, Gavin is respectful, sexy, broody, and loyal--remaining true to all the things I've loved about him since RECKLESS HEARTS and THE RIGHT KIND OF RECKLESS.

Besides McKenna, I loved how Ms. Van Fleet weaved Gavin and Kenna's story into the other characters' stories, and that epilogue... sigh... let's just say I may have shed a few tears as I reminisced about these three men and the baby girl they raise. I thoroughly enjoyed each couple's journey to their happily ever after and spending more time with them in RECKLESSLY EVER AFTER. Maybe because Ms. Van Fleet writes a sexy romance like no other author I've read, with scenes that manage to be just as hot as emotional, just as physical as mental. I can't wait to see what she does next.

This is the final book in the Reckless Hearts series, but don't think for one second that I'm not going to beg Ms. Van Fleet to write more in this world (maybe Hanna needs a story, or a "twenty-years later" novella with sweet Chloe as the heroine). I highly recommend this series for fans of steamy contemporary romance.

Gavin has no filter, the man could be crude, "I looked up at her question, finding her bottom lip pulled between her teeth. “My stuff?” She nodded, eyes shifting briefly to my crotch again. “My ***k, you mean.” McKenna doesn't mind making her man late, “not yet. Max can wait,” I mumbled against his lips. Screw the fact that we were about to have an audience. I needed this man. Needed my man." Gavin's lady love knows how to rile him up, "she dropped my hand and grabbed the side of my pants, digging her fingers into my pockets. Goddarn, she was dangerous . “Nothing about what’s inside there is ever soft.” I liked this book, I fell in love with moody Gavin.

This book was ok. I haven't read the previous books in the series but I didn't feel like I was missing anything. Gavin has issues. McKenna is a hot mess. Put them together and it is all sorts of crazy. I really liked Gavin. He is a good guy and I loved how he was with the little girl!

McKenna wasn't your typical character. Being in her head was all over the place. She wasn't a character that I connected with well or really understood but she was more real with all her issues than a 'perfect' heroine. Plenty of emotions and the story was well written.

It was a 3/5 for me.

Thank you to the publisher for the review copy of this book. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.

If you haven’t started The Reckless Hearts series yet— START NOW! Recklessly Ever After is the third installment in this addictive series which I devoured it one day because it was so darn good!!

Recklessly Ever After centers around McKenna and Gavin who both have never had any luck in the love department. To make matters more complicated, McKenna is looking for a causal fling and Gavin is thinking “long term”! Then an unexpected situations changes the entire dynamic and I couldn’t wait to see where Heather Van Fleet would take these two!

There is so much depth packed into this novel that really tugged at my heartstrings. Gavin and McKenna’s backstories are heartbreaking (get some tissues ready)! The storyline was paced perfectly with well-timed twists and turns! The characters are so realistic you feel like you know them and of course getting past characters updates was awesome! Recklessly Ever After is a 4.5 star novel that is a must read! I’m already excited for book # 4!

Gavin stole my heart. He was such a great character that you cant help but fall in love with him flaws and all. Here we have this imperfect man with so much baggage that he is broken but yet he wants to be all in with Kenna. Kenna was a little annoying with her constant battle of wanting to be independent yet wanting to be with Gavin but she eventually grows on you. The storyline was well written and keeps you engaged through the whole book and now I am going back to read the other men's stories.

This is the third book in this series, Gavin's book and we have been waiting for it. Gavin broke your heart with what he was dealing with and his memories. I wish they would have found some better for him than McKenna I was not a fan of hers and even though she finally reciprocated his love still wasn't crazy about her. But it was good to read of the past couples.

Gavin and McKenna's story. To be honest, this is the first I've read in the series, but wasn't lost. Both had issues, and both came together when she got pregnant. A good story, and a quick read. Perfect for summer. As a fifty year old, I found some of the language tiresome and immature, with a lot of drama. JMHO. Still would recommend, and would give it 3.5.

Gavin St. James has loads of issues. Between the horrors he had to deal with growing up to the things he saw while in the military, Gavin keeps to himself and his core group of friends. It is not until he is stuck in a broken elevator with McKenna that he finally opens to thought of love and a future. But McKenna is not looking for strings, she just wants quick sex and to walk away. When an unexpected problem arises and Gavin and McKenna are thrown together can these two learn to lean on someone else? Can they actually see a future together and get past their obstacles? With beautifully honest characters that have to deal with real world issues, this book was a great read. I instantly fell in love with Gavin and now need to read the other books in the series.
