Thank you NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for this arc.

A great beach read book. Better than most political conspiracy / revenge driven type books. Lots and lost of action. A little techno-babble, but not enough to measurably slow the story down. While I've read this same type story innumerable times in the past, it's the characters that make this book. Especially Eva. Given the teaser thrown in at the very end, I suspect this is just the beginning of a series. If so, I'll definitely be looking for the next one.

3.5 stars rounded up.

Rees Colback, a marked man not knowing someone decided to end his life. Retired from the CIA because of an injury and finds that all of his former men coworkers that worked with him are all dead now. He is trying to escape from the CIa that is chasing him and can't figure out why when he is rescued by his best friends sister a CIA agent that wants to find out who killed her brother. A lot of action and a very intense story with twists and turns to the end!

I really enjoyed this book - pure James Bond/Jason Borne/Mission Impossible type escapism, with a far-fetched conspiracy theory underlying it. Or, looking at the world today, maybe not so far-fetched! From the very beginning, this story gripped me.
If you need an exceptionally entertaining break from reality, with well written prose and interesting characters, I cannot recommend this book highly enough.
There were a number of peripheral characters, that I thought would be developed - maybe they will feature in future books by Alan McDermott.
I will be seeking out other books by Alan McDermott, as he has real talent.

WOW!
Once you start this book, hang on to something. You will be going on a fast paced ride.
The action starts and never lets up!
It stops at the end but just enough for you to get a breath and look to purchase the next.
It seems to be a part of a series but this is a complete book. You are not left upset because the action stopped in the middle of the climactic ending. Well written story

Truly thrilling conspiracy filled spy novel. A highly trained operative takes on the black ops government when they have her war hero brother assasinated. With the last remaining member of her brothers squad, her former CIA compatriot and a whole lot of attitude, this well written book keeps you on the edge of your seat until the last page. Highly recommend

This story is scary because it could really happen. If you are intrigued, you can read and review it via NetGalley or wait until 22 Aug 2018 for it to go live. Be aware that there is violence as well as adult language and situations that if you are sensitive to, you might wish to stay away from this story.

Rees Colback, former Special Forces, and Eva Driscoll, Special Operator, meet in an unconventional way. That happens when someone is out to take you down. It will take their combined skills and her connections to figure out the why and who.

I really enjoyed the character development. The "good guys" weren't perfect or superheroes. The "bad guys" were not stupid but stuff happens to frustrate their efforts. Their reactions are equal to their skill level.

Eva and Rees are awesome characters. I definitely want to see more books with them. One of the best books I have read in a while

Great book, action-filled from the first page. If you love the heart pounding feeling of being chased, looking over your shoulder and seeing big brother right behind you, this book is for you. Not to give anything away, but just want to say I don't want to believe a select few people can have the power to have citizens eliminated by our government. Overall a good book, kept my attention and couldn't put it down.

An exciting story. What do you do to fight the wealthiest men in the world who seem to control the world? Just get the few best people together. A little gory toward the end, but a fast-paced book that reads quickly.

Eva, the feisty main protagonist in the story, is a former assassin for the CIA. She believes she has been killing the enemies of her country. When her brother is killed, she questions her whole basis of her previous life and finds things are not as she’d thought. This is a brilliant conspiracy theory novel. Taking a stand, she finds things get worse for her, and the ex-soldier who shares her task. She’s a resourceful woman and we go from thinking she’ll make it to fearing she’s doomed – and back. Bringing in an old lover of hers was a master stroke from author Alan McDermott. He has always written an exciting novel. Here, he’s surpassed himself. A brilliant read.

Action packed and fast paced from start to finish. Eva is a great character who dominates the book as she tries to find the truth as to why her brother was killed by helping Colback who is the next target. The book is left leaving us thinking there may be another. I hope so!

Revenge, a dish best served with lethal force. Eva Driscoll has been trained to be a lethal force to be reckoned with and when her Special Forces brother is murdered in a cover up operation, she will stop at nothing to expose the truth, but is she ready to face a foe so formidable it has the government in its pocket?

RUN AND HIDE by Alan McDermott is for those conspiracy lovers who want that over-the-top action, the dark and dirty secrets of power exposed and a heroine who will stop at nothing in a cat and mouse game of survival against the government machine.

Eva was trained to kill for her country, but has she been betrayed by the very government she swore to protect? Where does the true power come from? Could it be true that the greed of powerful businessmen pulled her strings, too? Are they behind her brother’s “suicide?” Never mess with family, never…

Dark, gritty, full-throttle action is packed in from start to finish as Eva and her collection of unlikely allies take on the monsters pulling the world’s strings, but this time those monsters just may get hung by the very strings they manipulate.

Eva is that heroine who is faster than a speeding bullet, able to out think the enemy and survive against all odds. Hey! This is fiction, and if one lets go of reality, who is to say, there aren’t people out there just like Eva? Rapid-fire pacing, hard-hitting action and the imagination of a very talented author made this one fly past at the speed of light, all while keeping us wondering what will Eva do next!?!

Although there are conspiracy elements to this book, I found it exciting and interesting. Books such as this one aren't my usual choice, but when it was offered I decided to give it a try and i'm glad that I did.

Eva Driscoll is CIA and she has served her country by taking out those who would harm the USA. She is watching Rees Colback, one of her brother’s former Special Forces squad team members, when he is nearly abducted from a New York street. He is able to get away and she follows him and rescues him. She tells him that her brother was found dead of a faked overdose suicide and he was to be next. They team up to find out who is after him and now her since she has gone rogue. Eva Driscoll is a trained badass and she will not give up until she finds out who murdered her brother. Mr. McDermott has written a faced pace action, suspense and mystery that will grab your attention from the very first page. He is also the author of the “Tom Gray” books and we will catch up with Tom and Andrew from that series. A thrill ride that you won’t want to miss! I look forward to the next book in the Eva Driscoll series. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to give an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

Alan McDermott is the author of the Tom Gray Series and while Tom makes a brief appearance in this book, it's Sonny and Len who see the action.

Called in to assist CIA trained Eva Driscoll who regularly and ruthlessly tracks down bad guys but has now stuck her nose in someone very high up's business.

She knows her brother would never commit suicide and when other members of his unit start dying, she will stop at nothing to find out who and why this is happening and get justice for her brother.

If you like conspiracy theories, and who doesn't, this is right up your alley. I know I have had a few of these thoughts myself and this book could not be more timely.

Eva is an interesting character and I would have loved to have known more about her. Her character is the one that stuck closest to a CIA operative. A ghost. We know nothing about her.

The same events told from the perspective of the good guys and then the bad guys was a bit much. And the ending was a forgone conclusion.

I really liked the interaction with Sonny and Len. And I enjoyed the book.

This book is full of non-stop action. An army unit is being killed off in civilian life. The sister of one of the guys, Eva is after the group. She saves the life of Colback the last of the unit her brother was in.
they go after the shadowy group that is running the country and most of the world. Eva is badass and shows how smart she is as she goes up against this shadow group.

I enjoyed the writing and the people who came to help them. There was unexpected help from all sides.

lots of action and double crosses. thank you, Net Galley, for giving me a chance to find a new author.
Loved the end. hope to read more about this ragtag group.

You need to keep your wits about you when reading this super fast-paced thriller where the unbelievable happens. Eva Driscoll enlists help from two of Toms old crew when her brother is said to have committed suicide, she is convinced that he would never have taken his own life and this is confirmed when other members of his team are confirmed dead. She is determined to get answers but has no idea what she is up against.

This is a top shelf, master spy thriller by Alan McDermott.
Run and Hide takes off at warp speed and only slows down now and then for you to catch a breath before zooming off again.
I hope there is a sequel to Run and Hide!
Five solid stars.

Another great read. A political thriller filled with action and a cast of characters the reader will want to follow in the future. The villains are BIG Money and are secretly running the country. Our heroine is a former CIA agent/assassin who is looking for the people responsible for her brother’s death. She links up with a former member of Special Forces who is also on the kill list and who was her brother’s friend. The interaction between them and the few others they bring into their group is grabbing and will keep any reader up late. Thanks to Net Galley and Thomas and Mercer for an ARC for an honest review.
