Wow crazy story with loads of gruesome details. But really good! 4.5 Stars

This book had me wound up for two days straight. No, it doesn’t normally take me that long to read a book, but this story is quite a bit longer than normal novel in the same genre. Plus it was darn good!

So completely different, the story is about a serial killer and the hunt to catch him while he’s on the hunt for the one that got away.

The story has a lot of psychological twists and two seemingly separate plots that intertwine and really keep the story active, innovative, and completely engaging. I had difficulty actually putting the book down when I had to.

I also thoroughly enjoyed the addition of the romantic factor in this book. It definitely added another level of interest. Gideon was crafted to be a deep, damaged, yet amazing person and he was perfectly matched with Daisy. Great heat level and I loved their immediate connection and deep understanding of each other.

This book does have a lot of triggers. As I mentioned it is about the hunt for a serial killer therefore there is a lot of raw, gory details that can be over-the-top for some people. However, Miss Daisy is definitely a little bad ass. She brings in a lot of lightness into the heavy theme as does Gideon.

This book is intense, high action, and fast paced throughout! I love the high level of detail and all of the twists and turns; intermingling of people and places. Rose clearly dedicated herself to this book and the creation of remarkable characters and an inventive, albeit creepy, scary theme.

This is definitely one you will need to make time for so that you can submerge yourself into the world of FBI, cop and crime fiction. Loved this book!

This is the first book in a new series for Karen Rose. Special Agent Gideon Reynolds is still dealing with issues from his escape from a cult as a teenager. Gideon meets Daisy Dawson when she escapes from a man trying to abduct her. It soon becomes apparent there is a killer among them. Some of the chapters are told from the killers viewpoint, and trust me he is a very sick individual. There is a secondary plot in the book. Gideon has been trying to find the location of the cult since he escaped.

This book is filled with twists and turns. There are serial killers, cults, and of course a romance. This book will keep you engrossed from beginning to end. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series! Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

This is a new author for me but I'm already anticipating the next book in this powerful series. It is amazing how many twists and turns are in this psychological thriller to keep readers fully engaged to the end. The book is rather long but does have a secondary plot throughout. Of course readers are left hanging at the conclusion about the secondary story. I loved the Sokolov family. Their love and compassion for hurting people was so authentic. I'm looking forward to reading more about FBI Agent Reynolds and Daisy. Recommended!

This is yet another mystery about tracking a serial killer, but despite some interesting sections, I found it too crowded with both characters and coincidences.

There are many things that bring this huge cast of characters together, but it starts with a piece of jewelry discovered during a failed abduction. This necklace brings all the characters together to search for the murderer who has been kidnapping, torturing and murdering women.

The author injects romance, sub-plots and interconnections, all of which just made it very difficult to traverse. I know that this is often my complaint but I find having this many characters dilutes what could be impactful.

Eh... I just couldn’t get into the characters in this book.
I would like to thank NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

I am a HUGE Karen Rose fan, if she writes it I will read it!!! I haven't found any of her books that have disappointed me.

They are always thrills, twists and turns, murder, mayhem, great characters, great plots, lots of page turning action, and even a little love on the side.

I love the continuous series where you get to meet characters that evolve into the next book. Its like one big family, but with all the angst of trying to solve and/or stop murder.

You truly can not go wrong with a Karen Rose book. If you haven't had the pleasure of reading one of her books, you don't know what your missing. RUN to the library or one-click an eBook, you won't be sorry.

I will do more review later as I am only halfway through. I am loving this book so much I had to say something. Great characters that the reader can understand and root (sp?) for. The plot is well constructed and the pacing is fast. It reminds me of the last Nora Roberts I read where the heroine was a photographer. Such a good book. Right now I highly recommend as a must read for all you romantic suspense lovers. Will touch base when I finish.

So I am sorry, I finished the book and didn't come back to add to this review. I really enjoyed this book. It was one of the more suspenseful I have read in a long time. There was just the right mixture of romance and suspense, I also enjoyed the relationship between Daisy and Gideon. The progression of their relationship was timed well (not too fast). Daisy was independent and strong and she and Gideon supported each other. Each caring for the other. The secondary characters were also well written. I am excited to read the next in the series.
To sum it up-great, exciting plot, wonderful characters and looking forward to more from Karen Rose. Time to look at her backlist to see what I haven't read and pick them up. :)

I am a sucker for fucked up serial killers. This book hits that for me. It had my heart racing at points and I really enjoyed this book.

I generally liked the author’s style of writing, but there was SO. Much. Going. On. plot-wise (a cult, a pedophilic stepparent, a dad who hid his family for ten years, a serial killer, an addiction, etc.). Also, the gratuitous descriptions of various body parts/explicit sex that seemed randomly inserted from the beginning of the story really derailed my reading progress every time I got invested in the suspense piece. Lots of telling instead of showing. Not my personal cup of tea, but I’d bet fans of JD Robb would eat this up!

This book didn't seemed advertised as a romantic thriller on Netgalley and I wasn't expecting it to be one. That is not generally a genre I am all that interested in. However, I found this book to be really good. I enjoyed the story line, thought it was well written and liked getting to know the characters and watch the relationship develop Gideon and Daisy. I liked the multiple POV's and especially enjoyed learning about the serial killer and his "issues" that helps you see why he turned out how he did. Thank you for the ARC copy.

"That Daisy was a little bloodthirsty came as no great shock. There was a core of steel in the woman. He hoped to see more of it. More of her."

This story was my introduction to the author. The synopsis was intriguing and I admit to being a fan of crime TV and a closet profiler. What I found fascinating is that the multiple POV includes the killer. I might need some brain bleach, but it kept me on the edge of my seat.

Gideon is gorgeous and broken, which is one of my favorite combinations in book characters. He has a good reason for becoming an FBI agent and wanting to catch bad guys. But, he has lots of secrets that he's chosen to keep to himself. His painful past is not something he shares. But, when his past visits his present he must face his demons.

Daisy is badass. I loved her character immediately and found myself encouraging her to grab gorgeous Gideon with both hands and not let go. Their immediate connection and witty banter were very entertaining and the sexual tension was intense. I couldn't decide what I wanted more, for them to uncover the mystery or each other.

Say You're Sorry was a great beginning to the author's Sacremento series and I have so many more questions that I'm excited to have answered in the upcoming installments. The line forms here...

Say You're Sorry brings us to another city with a story full of suspense and mystery. Daisy has a connection to the Baltimore series but this can be read as a complete standalone with no confusion. Which, I just have to say, I absolutely love how Ms. Rose has been able to connect twenty some books together in some way or another and yet it's never in a confusing or pointless way. If you haven't read her previous books you won't even know that there's a character she's already created, and if you have read them then you get to have a moment of joy when you see a character you once loved in their own book.

Along with Daisy we're introduced to Gideon Reynolds, FBI agent and ex-cult member. Their journey takes us a on a crazy ride on the hunt for a crazed killer and the answers to the mystery surrounding the members still trapped in the same cult Gideon escaped many years ago. The story is intriguingly full of mind-boggling suspense and take-your-breath-away moments that will leave have you completely captivated. And of course there's the added bonus of getting to swoon over how possessive Gideon can become with Daisy.

This author will always be an instant one-click for me and every book she writes gets a huge recommendation from me. If you haven't read her books before you are just downright crazy and should fix that by reading this one. Her Romantic Suspense books are some of the best out there.

There is a killer on the loose & the only clues he leaves are letters carved onto his victims' bodies. The one victim who managed to get away from him escaped with a crucial clue to solving these murders. Well written, not too wordy, will keep you guessing until near the end. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Unfortunately this book missed the mark for me. I was very excited to start after reading the synopsis of the novel. As I started reading it took some time to get used to the floor of the book. It was a bit slow but after getting to know the characters a little more and the story I was able to get into the novel.... about midway though I just wasn't as interested in the book and hard to keep up. This was a DNF for me.

I have never before read a book telling of grisly murders and yet be moved to tears countless times! The tender, growing love between Gideon and Daisy was so emotional and so real that it just pulled at my heart. Listening to Gideon talk of his torture in the cult just about broke my heart! At the heart of this story was a serial killer carrying out grisly, tortuous murders. And yet this was balanced by a story filled with tenderness, love, family, acceptance and, ultimately, forgiveness. I just loved it!

This is my second book by Karen Rose and I have to say no one can write a villain like her. This is the first book in the Sacramento series but we met Daisy in the Maryland series. I really liked the premise of the book, twisted serial killer , who had many issues that were unveiled to us as the book progressed but did not really enjoy some of the others characters I felt Gideon was two different people strong FBI agent to totally weak civilian. Felt kind of sorry for Brutus too who every chapter was getting the fur rubbed off her. This is not to say I hated the book, it was an enjoyable quick read, I just didn't love it.

I love Karen Rose so much. She's a terrific author and her books have so much depth. This is the first in a new series set in Sacramento. The characters and relationships are phenomenal. There are a few characters from her other series also. It's a must read and I look forward to more. Especially Mercy's story.

I could not stop reading this book, staying up well past by bedtime. I can't wait to share this with the patrons at our library.

Karen Rose can unfold a twisting story with many characters who will grab your interest. Who is Sydney and why should we care. The unfolding of the discovery of a serial killer is slow and engaging, it will keep your attention to the very last page. Families are complex organisms and this book does a great job of exposing some of the darkest secrets, cults, paranoia, PTSD and alcoholism. This results in very real characters and interest grabbing story lines.

The first book in Karen Rose's new Sacramento series is fast paced with very well rounded characters. I love this first book of the new series. I also appreciate how she fits old characters into her new story lines. The old characters are familiar, but do some growing and changing as well. Karen Rose has long been a favorite and I'm happy to say she keeps delivering a fun, at times gut wrenchingly emotional superb story. Waiting for the second. Who's next???
