I liked this book better than the first book in the series. It's easy to read, the characters and plot just flow along. Oktoberfest sounds like a lot of fun and I was amazed by the many different kinds of beer that's available. The ending was a surprise. #ThePintOfNoReturn #NetGalley

I love everything by this author and this latest book was no exception. All the twists and turns keep you on the edge of your seat. So many suspects, so much going on, and the added story line of Sloan trying to find her birth family makes this an exceptional story and an exceptional series. I cannot love this enough.

I am a big fan of Ellie Alexander. I have thoroughly enjoyed her Bakeshop Mystery Series. When I saw she was writing A Sloan Krause Mystery series too I had to check the series out - and I am glad I did! Ellie pens fun, engrossing and interesting cozy mysteries with likable characters and well-crafted plots. In Pint of No Return Sloan Krause, a brewmaster in beautiful Leavenworth, WA, is preparing Cherrywizen, a brew made with locally sourced cherries, for the local Oktoberfest. A production crew has come to town to use the idyllic Bavarian village and its festival as a backdrop for a new film. But soon the movie star is found dead-as-a-doornail in Sloan’s pub. Who did it? How? Why? You will have fun reading to find out the answers.

This fun cozy mystery with its well developed plot, great sense of place and intelligent, relatable characters will have you packing your bag for Oktoberfest in Leavenworth, Washington for a taste of Nitro's cherry weizen beer. Sloan Krause is brewing beer at Nitro during Oktoberfest when she runs into a film crew making a documentary about the festival called "Wish you were beer". The narrator, Mitchell Morgan, turns out to be a former child star who has turned into a diva and angered everyone in his path. When he is found murdered Sloan gets involved in investigating, spurred on by her friendships with both the police and potential suspects. With a criminal investigation, family drama and the busy Oktoberfest crowds, Sloan has her hands full. In addition to a compelling mystery and interesting characters this book also imparts a great deal of knowledge about beer and the brewing process. Reading it is time well spent!
