Another good book in the series and I have not read them in any type of order. Here Smoke comes to help a friend in tracking down the men who had killed his wife. A good story that was an easy read and once had good characters.

There is just nothing more relaxing than sinking into a Smoke Jensen book. And I love Louis. Pearlie and Cal are great and I love how they pick on each other. Lots of excitement as always. I always love to see that Sally is able to tame all these rough cowboys.

The Mountain Man series is one of my favorite book series. I always look forward to a new story, using them as a reward for completeing a task. I had to give the dog a bath to earn this one! Johnstone books never disappoint. I always feel I'm in the story with my favorite characters. If you love westerns/ American frontier stories...read these!

I love the historical accuracies of William Johnstone's books. He transports you to the time period in a way that I haven't seen other western authors do.
