Growing up, in the 90s, I absolutely loved Archie comics, so this just made me feel so nostalgic! Definitely made me feel like a kid again. This was a fun and quick read - 3.5 stars
Thank you to NetGalley for offering this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.
I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.

Harley & Ivy Meet Betty & Veronica by Paul Dini; Marc Andreyko was interesting enough while I was reading but ultimately mostly forgettable and I skim read most of it. I do want to give this book another try when I'm not in a reading slump though.

I love the art and the story line. I thought it was a good intermingling of 2 very different franchises and enjoyed reading it.

If anyone can make me like the bland, cheeseball Americana of Archie, it’s Paul Dini… is what I thought prior to reading Harley and Ivy Meet Betty and Veronica. And i kept that thought after reading!

Posion Ivy is my favorite female villain in the DC universe. So when I saw that they were doing a comic with Betty and Veronica, I had to read it. It was funny and the art was great. I loved the story, it got me invested in it. Great overall book and I actually gave a copy of this to my niece for Christmas this year.

I’m both not a frequent graphic novel reader AND a huge childhood fan of Archie comics– so while this was a little out of my wheelhouse, it hit on so much fun and nostalgia to be in this world again (even if peripherally). And a good reminder that I should be dipping my toes into graphic novels more frequently– they’re fun!

There's a lot going on here. The basic premise -- that Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn show up in Riverdale to stop Veronica Lodge's father from turning a wetland preserve into a shopping mall slash community college -- is honestly pretty interesting, but it quickly devolves into a body-swapping (Betty and Veronica dress up as Harley and Ivy for a costume party, then Sabrina Spellman and Zatanna accidentally cast a spell to swap their bodies) comedy that is extremely difficult to parse because ALL THE WOMEN HAVE THE SAME FACE. No distinction between the teenagers and grown women, let alone between Harley and Ivy and even Zatanna. It's a pity, because aside from the too-many-crossover-characters and inevitable panty shots, etc., I did enjoy the wacky hijinks.

A fun little body swap story, though it did drag a little bit near the end of the book. I absolutely loved the artwork, enjoyed the inclusions of Sabrina and Zatanna, and no one writes Harley as good as Paul Dini. That said, the story was very basic and stereotypical environmental stuff for Ivy and the typical classic "evil" wealthy Lodge family tropes. Overall, a decent way to pass some time but nothing special. Thank you to DC and NetGalley for the e-galley for review, all opinions are my own!

Loved this comic. Absolutely classic and definitely recommend. The artwork was great and the banter always witty

This match-up mash-up of different characters from different comic worlds, does and doesn't work.
The writers tried very hard to make the story plausible and engaging in it's own what-if fashion.. It works in a lot of ways, but truly succeeds just in the fact that this book was published. This book is fun. Pure and simple. Read it and enjoy it for the crazy and sometimes nonsensical joy-ride it is intended to be.

I never thought that I would see a crossover between the Archie universe and Harley and Ivy. It was an interesting premise, and the art was great.

Could not read this title at all. I was looking forward to reviewing it but the pages were too blurry and everything was out of order making it almost impossible to read or review. I figured no review is better than a poor one.

Dini and Andreyko's Harley and Ivy Meet Betty & Veronica brings the gals of Gotham to Riverdale when Poison Ivy learns that Mr Lodge plans to destroy the Sweetwater Marsh and put a fancy strip mall and 'college’ on the land. Sweetwater is home to many rare plants and animals. The pair arrive in time to crash Lodge's halloween gala, going as… themselves. A magical accident switches Ronnie and Betty's consciousness with Ivy and Harley's, leaving each pair to live the life of the other until they can get it reversed. Hilarity ensues as they get the hang of their new lives. Can Ivy get the mall plans scrapped? Can she and Harley get their own bodies back? Can they even survive a day in high school??
I love the Archie comics, having gotten hooked on them by my mother when I was growing up. This was a pretty fun crossover. I really wasn't sure how it was going to work, but it turned out great! The Archie & co in this comic follow the art/world of the more modern Riverdale series. I haven't watched that yet, but reading this gave me a good idea of the personalities of these versions of the characters. Recommended for those that love either of these shows.
***Many thanks to Netgalley and DC Entertainment for providing an egalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Poison Ivy talked Harley Quinn into coming with her to Riverdale to save a swamp from Hiram Lodge's plans for building a college in a shopping complex on said swamp. While infiltrating a costume party as themselves, they run into Betty and Veronica dressed as Harley and Ivy. This confrontation drew the attention of Sabrina and Zantana whose spells mixed to produce a Freaky Friday effect. H & I were in Betty and Veronica's teenage bodies while B & V were in Harley and Ivy's bodies which Zantana had taken back to Gotham. Reggie who had come as the Joker was also caught in the mix of spells and ended up in Gotham as well. Hijinks and hilarity ensue as H & I attend high school, go to a drive-in and plot to continue their mission. Meanwhile B & V have to survive Gotham and the mess of criminals on their tail, get back to Riverdale and retrieve their own bodies. And wouldn't you know it, but those criminals were involved in the swamp deal so stopping one group led to the demise of the swamp deal. And Captain Pureheart managed to make an appearance and help save the day! While starting out slow, this mashup managed to be a fun romp in the end.

So much fun this was to read! Been awhile since I read something of this magnitude! Thank you netgalley for the free arc in exchange for an honest review!

It was fun to see the worlds of Harley & Ivy collide with Riverdale, and this was a generally fun read. The art is done really well so that was enjoyable, but the plot of this is where it was lacking. At times the story just felt too busy, I think this could've been a fun story even without the whole body switching thing, and while I love Sabrina she really wasn't needed in this. We also just could have cut out the entire Blossom family side plot, as it didn't really do anything for the story. I liked the idea of this and like I said it was fun to read, but it wasn't anything great.

This is one of the funniest graphic novels I've read. I laugh a lot because of this, the art is amazing, the story is a little out of climax but credible. I love it, Harley and Betty are opposites, but they manage to work in each other body. I would love to see more about Archie and Jughead but its a Betty and Veronica story.

Harley and Ivy struggle to lift this limp effort, which takes an age to see them body-swapped with two people that I've never even heard of. It's such a mishmash you need it to mention the Internet to even know whether it's in the 60s or now, and none of the characters, whatever their combination, location or powers, is at all interesting.

A couple of fun moments in this book, but not really the best of Archie Comics or the best of the Gotham City Sirens. Putting these two pairs of ladies together took an awful contrivance, and even overlooking that, the plot was too facile and not quite funny enough. Interior art was fine, but the covers and variant covers were the real winners of this concept.

Thank you to Net Galley and DC for giving me the opportunity to read Harley and Ivy Meet Betty and Veronica. As always this is my honest review.
I haven't read any of the newer Archie comics, but I was familiar with the characters from when I was a kid. I am more familiar with Harley and Ivy, though.
I loved this book. It was what you would expect from the title. Some silly, goofy, and sometimes kooky fun. The art was colorful and the style was well matched to the tone of the story. All four characters get their fair share of time, but it really is Harley and Ivy's book in my opinion.
I think Harley & Ivy fans or Archie/Riverdale fans with both enjoy it. Definitely recommend it. I do think Harley & Ivy fans who aren't familiar with Archie/Riverdale will also enjoy it.
