Fun graphic novel cross up of characters Poison Ivy and Harely Quinn with Betty and Veronica. They tied a lot into the story line with many recognizable characters from both realms. Fans of either will enjoy this graphic novel.

[3.5 stars] This one started off a little slow for me, though admittedly, i've been in a major reading slump, so that could be to blame. But once it picked up I really enjoyed the storyline and the girl power. If you're a fan of the Harley and Archie comics, this is definitely worth a read!

Thank you to Netgalley for giving me the chance to read and review, "Harley & Ivy Meet Betty & Veronica"
by Paul Dini; Marc Andreyko. What a really fun crossover event! The story centers around Harley and Ivy running into Betty and Veronica at a party that Hiram Lodge is hosting. After Sabrina and Zatanna cast a spell, a freaky Friday event takes place and Betty and Veronica switch bodies with Harley and Ivy! The comic centers around them trying to get back to their old bodies as well as trying to save the swamps in Riverdale. I was truly interested in the whole time I was reading this comic and really wish there could be another crossover in the future.

This graphic novel originally intrigued me because of the Riverdale plot line, but the story mainly focused on the DC Universe. Unfortunately, I'm not too familiar with this lore so a lot of the references went right over my head.

I did appreciate all of the Archie characters and felt as if I got a sense of who Harley & Ivy really are. Any additional villains or side characters weren't fully explained though which lessened my enjoyment. Also, am I the only one who found it odd that Sabrina the Teenage Witch was in this?

Including the older comic book callbacks was really clever though and the art style had the right amount of detail. It definitely wasn't a favorite comic of mine, but a fun cross-over that die-hard DC fans should appreciate.

Fun romp with beloved characters. Don't expect a lot of depth but other wise very fun. I really enjoyed seeing Harley and Ivy play around in Riverdale and cause havok in the Archie universe. To sum up very fun, exactly what I expect from a Harley and Ivy title.

I really enjoyed this The writing itself was pretty good, though I found the inclusion of the Reggie/Joker arc a bit superfluous. Personally, I don’t think Harley requires a version of the Joker in this story, or any for that matter, and I didn’t see how it added anything or moved the plot along. The art was a different style from what I’ve seen before, and fit the backdrop and story quite well. Whilst, it was an interesting filter to see Gotham through I think I prefer the cover art style personally – but that is just my preference.

Harley & Ivy meet Betty & Veronica was a pretty cool crossover among Archie and DC comics characters. I'm a huge fan of Harley Quinn. Poison Ivy, Betty Cooper, and Veronica Lodge. So I liked seeing their personalities  bounce off each other. Poison Ivy decides to save the Sweetwater swamp from Hiram Lodge. I wouldn't expect nothing less from her. This brings the duo to Riverdale. I give them props for trying to convince Hiram civically. But Harley and Ivy are always meant for the hard way out.
Ambushing the costume gala wearing their classic looks, Harley and Ivy clash with Betty and Veronica. Unfortunately the only costumes Betty and Veronica could find were Harley and Poison Ivy's current looks. That's embarrassing and a fashion nono.
A little hocus pocus turns our story into a freaky Friday situation. Veronica says strange stuff always happens when Sabrina Spellman is around. I was actually surprised to even see Sabrina in this book. I haven't seen her n the new Archie books yet. So it was fun to see the ladies try to live each others lives. It was high school fun and games for Harley and Poison Ivy. But it was avoiding cops and murder attempts for Betty and Veronica. It was crazy that Veronica tried to buy fancy clothes looking like a villian. She wasn't using her head at all. They eventually change back.
The ladies went up against some disgruntled old henchmen of Harley and Ivy. They were the real villians of this comic. Jughead and Archie even got a piece of the action.
With all the shenanigans they experienced together, our heroines became friends. They even got to hang out at Pop's before going their separate ways. My favorite part was the hamburger eating contest between Harley and Jughead. I think Harley would have won if it was hotdogs. Since she's from Coney Island she eats them all the time.

This was OK, but honestly, I expected more with Paul Dini's name on the book. For the most part it's just a ho-hum story stretched out with side quests to make it 6 issues. The characters are all muted to appeal to all ages, even though Harley's still running around in her skimpy short shorts costume.
The best part of the book was the costume party with a few guest appearances.

HARLEY & IVY MEET BETTY & VERONICA collects a six-issue set following the antics of two classic friendships -- whacky anti-hero Harley Quinn and supervillain Poison Ivy, and everyone's favorite girl-next-door Betty Cooper and rich girl Veronica Lodge. This story will be more enjoyable to readers who are familiar with these characters. This story takes classic characters and gives them the "Freaky Friday" treatment with delicious results. Due to some magical shenanigans, Betty and Harley, and Veronica and Poison Ivy swap bodies. While super inconvenient and discombobulating for Betty and Veronica, this turn of events actually works out to benefit Harley and Poison Ivy. Paul Dini and Marc Andreyko tell a delightfully loopy tale with artwork by Lara Braga that captures the zany storytelling beautifully.

Veronica's business tycoon dad is a natural as a Poison Ivy foe. I like how, eventually, seeing her dad in a different light gives Veronica a fresh perspective. In body-swapping stories like these -- perspective is everything and usually generates the most humorous and poignant moments. Betty and Veronica soon realize that the life of supervillains and anti-heroes is not what it's cracked up to be. Riverdale and high school look better each day they're stuck in their costumed fantasy gone horribly wrong. The environmental and criminal storylines intersect in a way that is a bit of a stretch, but the journey the characters take getting to that point, and the over-the-top resolution to the story, makes this book worth reading.

HARLEY & IVY MEET BETTY & VERONICA is a farcical and fabulous tale of two classic comic book friendships. This story profiles and highlights the very different dynamics in both female friendships. A scene near the end between Jughead and Harley have me hoping those two characters cross paths again. Sabrina and Zatanna are another amazing mix that would be great to duplicate in a future story.

Harley & Ivy Meet Betty & Veronica by Paul Dini brings Gotham to Riverdale is this fun crossover event.

Billionaire Hiram Lodge has decided to offer free college tuition. But to do this, Riverdale needs to build a campus by draining the wetlands between the town and Gotham City. Everyone is excited by the new campus except for visiting ecologist Dalia Green. But Green isn't who she pretends to be and with her friend in tow, she is going to do all she can to protect he wetlands. Because Dalia Green is Poison Ivy and her friend none other than Harley Quinn.

Harley and Ivy come up with a plan to stop Hiram Lodge. They will kidnap his daughter Veronica and her best friend Betty and hold them for ransom to stop the drainage of the wetlands. But can Gotham's criminal duo stop Riverdale's besties? Compounded by a costume party where all of Riverdale's youth dresses up like heroes and villians from Gotham. Then when Sabrina the teenage witch gets involved, the girls are in for their own version of Freaky Friday!

Some Archie crossovers, and there have been alot of them lately, don't work. The characters just don't do well in other universes. That is not the case here. Ivy and Harvey, with their teenage like antics and comic flair fit in very well with Veronica and Betty and the gang. This is a fun read and very much works on all levels.

This is a definite good read.

This was a nice crossover filled with characters from both fandoms that I enjoy, it made me want more, which is always a good thing when it comes to comic books for me because sometimes the story doesn't make me want more. I would love more in this crossover.

I didn't know what to expect when I opened this comic. I mean, how much further apart could two settings be than Gotham and Riverdale? How could they ever be brought together? Well, Dini and Andreyko figured it out. When Ivy sees Hiram Lodge advertising that he is building a megamall, destroying a rare ecosystem in the process, she decides to take action. As the heat is on in Gotham, Harley agrees to go with her BFF to see what havoc they can cause. Add in Zatanna and Sabrina, mixed up spells, mixed up bodies, and the story is on.

This was a lot of fun. The two totally different worlds are brought together in a believable way (once I could wrap my mind around Riverdale and Gotham in the same fictional universe). The more modern, realistic-looking Archie gang is used here to help sell that. The characters are who they are. The Archie gang has all the same quirks and obsessions they always have. Adding a slightly sweeter version of Ivy and Harley worked out pretty well. There was some minimal character development and the plot moved along nicely. There were laughs and suspense. I enjoyed this book.

Harley and Ivy Meet Betty and Veronica was a lot of fun to read. It was nice to see Harley and Ivy in a new town and watch them interact with people in Riverdale. Once something peculiar happens to them things get really wacky fast. Betty and Veronica also have their own things to deal with since this incident changes them too. This story took a lot of odd turns along the way, but that is to be expected with these characters. I would highly recommend this graphic novel, it was one of the best I have read in a while.

Harley and Ivy? Doesn't even require thought, I want to read it. With Archie in Riverdale? GIMME GIMME GIMME!

While not the height of literature, who wants Shakespeare when you have Betty, Veronica, Harley and Ivy? Lots of fun and hi-jinks, as well as cameos from other DC favs.

My only quibbles are that sometimes the action isn't quite clear about what is going on. The beginning with the plant doubles and then becoming man-eaters, not clear. Also, how things are resolved re: Veronica's dad not thrown into the clink and/or broke, the random lady in the rose monster Ivy made at the end, etc.

All-in-all, not bad and definitely worth the read. Recommended if you like the characters, as they were all written pretty true, if slightly tamer than usual.

3 solid stars.

My thanks to NetGalley and DC Entertainment/DC Comics for an eARC copy of this book to read and review.

When I first heard about a Harley & Ivy crossover with the Archie comics I was super excited! I'm a huge Archie fan and Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy are two of my favorite villains especially those from a comic book because of the sheer fact you can't help but love them and they aren't villains all the time as both have very strong passions for the things they love! I was so happy when I got approved to read this a little bit early as it was one of my most anticipated pieces of literature for 2018. Some of my favorite things were the breaking of the forth wall, on point character traits for Archie and the gang along with Harley & Ivy and just the interaction that they all have together. I highly recommend this to any Harley Quinn/Poison Ivy fan or fans of Archie and Riverdale because each person can definitely find something in this crossover that made them fall in love with comics or their fandoms in the first place. Also would say this is a really great place to start for anyone who might be just starting to branch out into comics because it was a very quick and entertaining read! I can't wait to go out and buy myself a physical copy to add to my comic book collection!

That was a fun romp, and I thought that they did a pretty good and believable job bringing the two very different comics together. It mostly takes place in Riverdale with a little bit in Gotham City.

Veronica's father is looking to destroy a swamp in Riverdale and put up a 'University'. Well, Ivy sees that and she and Harley go to stop it from happening. But, then there's a sort of Freaky Friday thing that happens and everything goes haywire.

I was a little bummed that there wasn't more Harley/Ivy subtext if not maintext, in there, but, as I said, it was a fun short, cute read.

I received this book via Netgalley thanks to DC Entertainment.

The Good: Literally everything. I am not even joking right now. I am a huge fan of my Gotham City Sirens, and this one has two of them as the main characters. The artwork was beautiful with rich colors, amazingly drawn outfits, and fantastic panels. The story was fluid and never got boring. You get to meet many of the Riverdale characters, many of whom I was not familiar with as I have never really read the Archie comics, and many of the Gotham City characters as well. There were so many surprise characters in this comic and I wish I could tell you about all of them. I don’t want to ruin anything for you though. Just know that you get to see some of your favorite Gotham villains, meet some new ones, and see some of your favorite heroes as well.
The plot of this comic was straightforward for the most part. What you thought was going to be the plot ends up changing and the new one keeps you on the edge of your seat. (It is so hard to do reviews for something as amazing as this without giving it all away!)

The Bad: Nothing. There was nothing bad about this comic. Parts that seemed dull quickly became action filled. I guess the only bad thing I can say is that if you aren’t familiar with Riverdale characters, or for some reason Gotham City characters, then sometimes you may get confused on who everyone is. By the end of the comic though you have everyone figured out and you are ready for more.

(Review will be posted on my blog, goodreads, and amazon once the comic has been published!)

Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn head to Riverdale to stop Hiram lodge from turning Sweetwater Swamp into a shopping mall (Ivy's concerned about all the plant life). The two crash a Heroes and Villains costume party at the Lodge's. Betty and Veronica are, of course, dressed as Harley and Ivy. Things turn chaotic and spells cast by Zatanna and Sabrina cause the two duos to switch bodies. Betty and Veronica find themselves in Gotham on the run from various henchman while Ivy and Harley have to navigate Riverdale High.
Overall, this was a fun read. Some of the pacing felt rushed and some of the transitions were jarring, but it wasn't so bad as to take away from the story. It was fun to see Riverdale meet Gotham and have those characters interact with each other. I especially enjoyed Harley and Jughead bonding over food.
The artwork is fantastic.

I, for one, am happy to have Paul Dini back and doing what he does best(write comics!). The artwork here is also decent and gives life to these characters enough to understand what is going on in the story, the coloring is especially great. I wasn't sure what to expect from this story or how well the matchup would work but i definitely wasn't disappointed. Even though the story was very odd, there was enough intrigue here to make it worthwhile. I would love to revisit this alternate reality world again sometime and see all of the other character cameos that could pop up in the future.

My thanks goes out to DC and Netgalley for providing me with an ARC copy for an honest review.

Not sure what I expected of this mix, but it just wasn’t for me. The story was interesting and the illustrations good. I just didn’t enjoy the mix of Archie comics and DC comics… I am sure others will find this entertaining.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher, DC Comics, for the opportunity to read this ARC.
