The Day I Lost You is one of the thousands books out there about a missing child. And if you're reading one after another, you can notice same patterns and easily get disappointed. And so, it will really take a shocking twist and turn for one to stand out. And though this book is far from being awesome, it is definitely impressive with how unexpected everything turned out to be in the end. But that's not to say that I didn't have trouble with it. I actually had a hard time liking the flow of the story for the most part. I find the pacing slow and the characters acting so indifferent towards a missing child put me off. It was frustrating. Even Erika, the main character has her questionable moments. But later on was put to light as to why. I almost give up on it but glad that I stick to it until the end because it gave me the most unexpected twist. I'd say the ending saved this book. Definitely a satisfying read.

Erika Rice is in an elevator with her four year old daughter Alice, going to retrieve a beloved object from the little girl's father, when all the lights go out. Managing through a small opening, Alice takes the advantage to slip out. With her daughter lost in the large building, will Erika be able to get help to find the little girl?

The Day I Lost You honestly had flaws from the beginning that I chose to ignore until I could no longer. There were massive red flags within the plot points along the way, as they pointed to the eventual conclusion. The pit-of-your-stomach feeling of a lost child did come through well in the telling of Erika and Alice's story, which was one bright spot. Overall, The Day I Lost You was not as good as I was hoping and not a novel that I would recommend to other readers.

Classic lost child story, but with a fantastic twist at the end! Losing your child is every parents' worst nightmare!
Throw in a bitter and broken marriage and you have set the stage for a lot of mystery and possibilities! Dark and twisty! The ending will blow you away!

This book is about Erika, a mother, who seems to have lost her child in an apartment building and is frantically searching for her. The concept and premise were interesting enough for me to pick up this book but, it was not as gripping as I expected it to be. The story moves back and forth giving us a glimpse into the past and how Erika comes to be where she is - the apartment building lobby. With the help of a security guard, she proceeds to search every corner of the building, turning this into something of a mystery.

Though decently written, the story did hold my attention. At times, I was just waiting to get to the end of the book since I had already started to read it. The plot was quite confusing and it was only towards the end that things were a little more clear. The characters also sometimes acted in ways that no one would in real life causing the reader to question their actions.

This is a story that tries to delve into the psych of a mother who lost her child, the trauma and confusion. It is quite relevant in that it deals with mental health and brings about awareness that we need today.

Just having finished my first book by this talented author, I really had more of an idea of the writing style and once again I was not disappointed. This book deals with the fear all parents have. Losing your child.... I can't even imagine it!! It was a riveting read, gripping until the end.

This story was very touch and go for me. I am a huge domestic thriller fan and although this book had me hooked in the beginning, it kind of puttered out somewhere in the middle.

A good thriller started off very gripping and tense. However the ending ruined the whole story for me, an ambiguous ending is never good!

I'm not normally a huge domestic thriller fan, but I really enjoyed this one. I found it compelling, fast paced, and a good mystery to go with the thrill. You feel Erika's panic over losing Alice right along with her, and readers will become very invested in finding her. It reminded me a little of Her One Mistake by Heidi Perkins, and I would recommend it to domestic thriller fans.

I did not enjoy this book personally, and found it to be disappointment . It started well but lost its pace in the middle and then became boring afterwards.

Imagine being in a lift with your little girl when the lights go out and the lift jerks to a stop then the doors open and your little girl runs out and the doors close again before you get a chance to follow her and now your daughter is gone!!!!!! This is what happened to Erika after her little girl Alice (Bunny) leaves her teddy bear behind at her dad’s house while on a recent visit and now Erika is left facing every parent’s worst nightmare!!!! Where does she start looking and who can she trust? The Day I Lost You will leave you reeling with the explosive ending you just won’t see coming!!!!!

Thank you to Bookouture, Alex Sinclair and NetGalley for the arc of The Day I Lost You my review is honest and unbiased in any way.

This book was a roller coaster ride the entire way through. As a mother, I could feel the fear in this novel. It was Trippy, really good reveal at the end as well.

I didn't hate this book but this book wasn't for me. Even though it should have been thrilling...it never got to the point where I was engaged. The story ambled on and on, and even though it is not a long book, it felt long to me. I found the writing to be very repetitive, with overuse of certain words and phrases and the characters mostly behaved in ways I found to be odd. I am sorry to say this was a disappointment.

TDILY starts with Erika trying to take the toy of her daughter in her ex husband's apt.

The book has Then and Now chapthers that tells about Erika's fears of never getting pregnant and after her disastrous marriage with Michael.

You are tell by her that Michael only cares about the baby and makes tons of money. How bad he is and that she is not being the comprehensible enough.

I felt that something was off during the whole and could point what it was. But Erika seems btw reality and tormenta the way she acts. I could even blame Michael the two of them seems to not understand one another without fighting.

I cant day a lot because that would make the book less. I recommend, the final chapthers just broke my heart a little.

I found the story boring and 100% predictable. I try very hard to not one star books but this one was not my cup of tea.

This is a modern thriller. I found it quite an odd story. However I did read it to the end. The storyline was very easy to predict and luckily the book is not too long.

The book introduces you to Erica rice and her four year old daughter Alice. Erica goes to her ex husbands apartment to pick up Alice’s princess doll that she had left there when she had visited. While in the elevator to the eleventh floor the elevator stops in between floors Alice squeezes out. The story is told in two timelines before and after Alice’s disappearance. At times this book was so unbelievable with peoples reactions on Alice’s disappearance. I definitely didn’t see the ending coming.
