I have always loved Elizabeth Berg’s books and was excited to read her latest book. I was not disappointed. The characters in this book are ones you will feel a closeness to. Berg describes them in a way that makes one feel like you know them well. The story is about the different people that live in a small town called Mason. It is about their lives, their feelings, their desires and their hardships. The book is filled with magic and gives one hope. You will not be disappointed in the story. I highly recommend it!!!

4-1/2 stars for this one
I was very pleased when I got an email this morning from Netgalley saying that I'd been approved to read this book. I downloaded it immediately and started reading it, telling myself that I'd read a few pages just to see what it was like. Late in the afternoon I had finished it. I did get my chores done but hauled my Kindle around with me to read a few pages and then when chores were done, hunkered down to finish it.

I've read a couple of her other books and this one was as good as any of her others. In the world we are living in with turmoil and discord, her books make me feel calm and tranquil. I love her characters because they are like me. The non-drama is refreshing and reading her books is like evesdropping on other peoples' lives. People just like you and me.

I do wish I'd read her other book most recent book "The Story of Arthur Truluv" first, since this seems to be a continuation of that story. I've wanted to and I've put that one on hold at the library but haven't gotten it yet. I felt like I missed some things by not reading that one first. Other than that, it was a very nice tranquil book to read as a respite for turbulent times we face every. single. day.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Night of Miracles is a charming, heartwarming, well written story about people in a small town who experience friendship, love and loss. You come to love them and think of them as family.

Very enjoyable read. A sequel of sorts, to The Story of Arthur Truluv. Both books were written in the same low-key tone. She’s just telling us stories about nice people living their lives, leaning about death and love and life. I enjoyed it very much.

Fans of the author will truly enjoy this sequel to Arthur Truluv. The same characters return along with some new ones, experiencing love, loss and the special closeness of a small town. The reader may feel like baking after reading this. I know I did.

Elizabeth Berg has done it again, written a beautiful story of unique characters that reflect life and love in their daily lives. Many of the characters from Arthur Truluv come back in this book, with Lucille, a straight talking, woman coming to the end of her life but having so much to give. I loved the story of Tiny and Monica, misreading cues and working their way towards each other. Each character is so full of life, and of course, hope. Excellent but read Arthur Truluv first.

Love, love, love! Elizabeth Berg’s “A Night of Miracles” gives us the chance to visit with old friends that we might not ever have had the chance to meet again and introduces us to a few more . Her heartfelt interactions are woven between each of the characters. I didn’t want this book to end.

The sortof sequel to The Story of Arthur Truluv is a warm, delightful story of how kindness can change people's lives. Delightful characters with all their own quirks and faults this is a light, charming book, perfect fit the summer.

I was given an ARC of this novel from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Elizabeth Berg never fails to bring me to tears. I love the characters in this novel, and their real and relateable struggles with relationships, life, and loss.

Great novel. I highly recommend it.

I'm not sure how Elizabeth Berg continues to create disparate characters and makes me care about each and every one of them, but she's done it again in Night of Miracles. I thought this was a beautiful book, and I loved it from beginning to end.

Elizabeth Berg has a real gift for creating characters we truly care about. In this book, we get reacquainted with characters from Arthur Truluv, and meet some new ones. Although this book is a companion to Arthur Truluv, it truly stands alone. Recommend this to anyone who wants something that is entertaining and uplifting. The ending is so satisfying.

Return to Mason, MO
Return to The Story of Arthur Truluv

I reread The Story of Arthur Truluv before reading this, and I enjoyed it more the second time.

Catch up with old friends and meet new friends.
The story rotates between 4 characters and the stories intertwine in wonderful ways.

One new neighbor drives to Columbia, MO for bookstore and Whole Foods every other Sat.
(I felt like I was on road with them, as I also live 2 hours from Columbia)
There are cooking classes ( I loved the quiz and discovering a good way to warm eggs to room temperature is placing them in bra for a few minutes :))

I quickly fell in love with these stories and I read it in a day. I would like more of them!

Sometimes you need a book that just makes you feel good while reading it. This is one of those books. Picking up a few years after The Story of Arthur Truluv, Night of Miracles focuses on Lucille, her baking school and the people she helps in the town. We see that small acts of kindness can make a world of difference, sometimes changing lives for the better for friends or strangers you’ll never meet again.

Continues the story of Lucille after the death of Arthur. Carries on with Maddie and where life takes all of them with new neighbors, stories and friends. I cannot believe how Elizabeth Berg continues to enthrall and entice us with the stories of everyday life. What a wonderful gift!

Night of Miracles is a continuation of - or rather a sequel to - The Story of Arthur Truluv, concentrating on Lucille. As ever, Elizabeth Berg masterfully creates and develops unforgettable characters among a moving story.

Elizabeth Berg you are a MASTER of creating characters that forever leave an imprint in my heart and tears on the pages long after I read the final words. [book:The Story of Arthur Truluv|32918898] made my Top 10 of 2017 list and when I heard a sequel of sorts was coming and would be centered around Lucille, I knew it was going to be amazing but also have some large shoes to fill. And this book totally exceeded my expectations. I loved meeting a new cast of characters interspersed with the old favorites and I have a feeling Night of Miracles will be making the 2018 list for sure.

Thank you to Random House for an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

Elizabeth Berg skillfully weaves together the stories of multiple characters including those from a previous work. Berg handles their various sorrows and joys with a deft touch. While I enjoyed Arthur Truluv, Maddy, Lucille and Nola in her previous novel, I feel like I know them better after reading Night of Miracles. This was the best book I've read in quite a while and hope there's something new in the work.
